one: i did not know ship captain marriage was a thing to now learn it is a myth (exception (perhaps): japan) but this post reminded me soooo much of a custom in my field: law many law students intern for judges and a lot of lawyers starting out clerk for judges it is so unbelievably common for those interns and clerks to ask their judges to marry them when the time comes which is so cool indeed a lot about the law reminds me so much of the gotei from the partners (captains) to the various levels of associates designated by their number (or year) the gotei 13 is such a metaphor for workplace bs and i love it! anyway lovely post as usual 😀
