Chan was excited to have his own family.
He already has families, his own family, the one he made with the members, and the one he was building with you.
And the family was going to expand soon.
He felt giddy whenever he saw your baby bump, reminding him that it was his child that you were carrying, that he would be a father soon, and he couldn’t wait to fill the role.
He had always been treating little Chan like his own son but he didn’t want to overstep since he still has his biological father who cares for him. He could settle for being a friendly figure in little Chan’s life, and he didn’t mind him calling him uncle instead of dad.
And it couldn’t be more of an ideal time to introduce you to his family.
He invited you over to his apartment and introduced you to the rest of the members for a little get-together, he was too shy to admit that he also wanted to show you off to them.
But Jeongin got ahead of him and introduced you as his aunt, "My aunt, everyone," he said to the members sitting on the sofa.
"And this is my cute little cousin," also got ahead of him to introduce little Chan to everyone.
They all cooed at him, saying hi, and shook his little hand as he walked up to Jeongin to sit on his lap.
Chan sighed in defeat seeing Jeongin steal his spotlight, but he continued, "And she's pregnant with our child," he bragged with a hand rubbing your baby bump.
Everyone collectively gasped.
Everyone knew Chan was dating you, but from their faces, you could tell that this came out as unexpected, it seemed like they didn't know that the relationship was this serious.
"Whoa, Hyung, does this mean we get to be uncles?" Han said, voluntarily being the one who broke the silence.
"Yes," he nodded with a grin.
Hyunjin groaned, "but I'm still too young to be an uncle," he said with a pout.
"I bet that Chan Hyung would cry on the day Noona gives birth," Changbin stated with a smirk.
Chan hissed at him, shot him a sharp gaze but then broke into a smile.
You smiled seeing him comfortable like this being around his peers, surrounded by people who supported him and cherished him.
He didn't know how loved he was and how much he deserved it.
"No, no, no. I bet their child would be beautiful like their mother, not Chan Hyung," Seungmin joked with a satisfied laugh.
Everyone else laughed along while Chan just took it all in with a defeated smile.
"I have to agree with Seungmin Hyung on that one," eongin added.
And the laughs grew louder.
You laughed seeing him so resigned with the jokes aimed at him, he was so used to it.
Felix poked little Chan's cheek, "what's his name?"
"Little Chan," Jeongin answered.
Everyone cooed again, then chuckled.
"If this is little Chan then that one is swollen Chan," Seungmin joked again, and everyone burst out laughing again.
"Hey, hey, hey," Chan warned him.
This time little Chan laughed along with them, making Jeongin couldn't stay quiet in his seat, laughing his lungs out.
"But seriously, Chan Hyung would make a great dad," Changbin remarked, suddenly got serious that everyone stopped laughing.
"I agree, yeah," Felix backed him up.
The rest of them nodded in agreement, they know him very well and what he's capable of.
"He'll teach them a lot of sports," Hyunjin commented with a soft laugh.
Han eagerly nodded, "Except bowling," he added a snide comment, then laughed.
"But he'll also nag a lot," Seungmin commented.
Once again, everyone laughed
"Seungmin..." Chan called him out in desperation, completely lost to his witty comments.
The meeting went well with little Chan getting along with everyone, them teaching him how to call their names one by one with uncle at the end.
He had a hard time calling Hyunjin’s name and got it wrong several times.
They got whipped by him just like he did with Chan.
You and Chan watched them play together, smiling at how adorable they looked.
"You're already taking care of 7 kids, oh 8 with little Chan," you joked, "are you ready for baby number 9?"
He grinned at you, "I am so ready to meet them,"
"Have you guys found out the gender of the baby?" Felix asked as he sat on the sofa next to Chan.
"We want it to be a surprise," you answered.
Felix giggled, and it amused you so much because he has almost the same giggle as little Chan, filled with that carefree glee and purity.
Back in your apartment, you sat on the end of the bed, drying your freshly showered hair with a towel.
You smiled when Chan came to the room after tucking little Chan to bed.
"Come here, let me dry it for you," he said to you, sitting next to you and insisting you sit on his lap.
He gently rubbed your hair with the towel while you held on to his arms. He took the hairbrush and softly combed your hair started from the end, patiently untangled the hair with his fingers then continued brushing your hair.
He kissed your cheek once he was done, "you're so beautiful, love," he said to you.
You never got tired of hearing his praises because you know he meant every praise with all of his heart.
You turned your head to return his praise with a kiss, gave his lips a long kiss, then rested your head on his shoulder with your eyes closed.
"Are you sleepy, baby?" He asked you, wrapping his arms around you, one hand resting on the baby bump.
You nodded with a hum.
"Want me to tuck you to bed like I just did to little Chan?" He asked.
You lowly giggled and nodded.
He led you to lay down on the bed and pulled the duvet over your body and his, he handed you a small pillow to put under your side for the baby bump.
He caressed your cheek with his knuckles, "you must be tired," he guessed, also lying on his side facing you on the bed.
"Just a little," you honestly answered.
"You should take a rest then," he said to you, patting your head so softly.
"You too," you said back to him.
"I want you to take a lot of rest too," you said with a weak smile.
"Okay," he kissed your forehead.
"Goodnight, my love," he whispered to you, he rubbed your stomach under the duvet, then closed his eyes, drifted to sleep together with both of your hands on your baby bump.
-
Chan was surprised to see little Chan's dad come to your apartment at this hour at night, if his excuse was to see and play with little Chan that would be a strange answer.
He came to bring back little Chan's toys that he had been asking for since he left them at his dad's and then there was the food, "You like dumplings so much, so I bought some on the way," he said to you as he handed you a bag of food on the dining table.
"Oh, thank you," you muttered to him.
"Remember when you craved them in the middle of the night when you were pregnant with Chan?" he said to you.
You stifled a laugh but didn't answer him, aware of Chan's listening in on the conversation.
You glanced at him, and he gave you an uneasy stare, Chan rarely got mad, but he has this dark aura within him when he isn't amused with something.
Was it wrong for him to feel jealous of the fact that he had been with you before he did?
Thankfully, he left after playing for a while with little Chan, and congratulated Chan and you on your pregnancy before leaving your apartment.
It kind of pissed him off, that he'll occasionally come to your apartment and probably until little Chan is old enough to go to his dad's on his own.
He was watching you eating the dumplings, and shoved them one by one into your mouth.
"You really like it?" He asked.
"You know I always like them," you answered, "but I don't crave them," you added, then took a sip of water.
You took one and fed it to him, "it's just food, Chan," you told him.
He reluctantly opened his mouth and ate it.
But Chan couldn't let go of it, not even when you were watching a movie together with little Chan holding the bowl of popcorn between his legs.
"Are you not... like... craving anything?" He suddenly asked.
"Aren't you supposed to crave something during pregnancy?" He asked in the most nonchalant, but inside, he wanted you to be needy for him and ask to be spoiled by him.
You held in your laughs and hummed, "actually, I've been craving something lately," you said.
He jolted in his seat, "Yeah, what's that? Tell me, I'll buy it for you," he said with such eagerness.
"Actually, I don't crave it that much," you honestly admitted to him.
His smile faded just a little, "really?"
"But now that I talk about it, I crave it," you said as you turned your head at him.
The three of you went on a night drive, even little Chan was already dressed in his pajamas and fell asleep in the backseat.
You waited by the car while Chan bought you something you craved so much. He half-ran back to the car and smiled when he got in.
"Cherry slushie for you," he handed you a cup of red-colored iced drink.
You clapped before taking it from him, taking the first delicious sip while Chan watched your reaction.
You gasped after taking your first sip.
"How is it?"
You took another sip and gasped again, "it's so refreshing. I like it so much," you exclaimed.
Chan grinned because he got to fulfill your cravings, he put a hand on your baby bump, "you should tell me whenever you crave something," he told you while rubbing your stomach.
"I just don't take them seriously," you told him with a smile.
"Do you want to eat something else?" He asked.
You nodded, "I crave cheeseburgers so much," you weren't entirely lying when you said it. But the main reason was that it's Chan's favorite food and the other reason was that you also want one.
Chan drove a little distance to buy burgers for both of you, he handed them to you once he opened the wrapper.
"Thank you," you muttered.
You took a big bite and hummed in delight as you tasted the food.
"That good?"
You eagerly nodded.
"You eat yours too," you ordered.
"Okay," he took his burger and ate it together in the car with you, parked in the almost empty parking lot of the fast-food chain.
"Little Chan likes fries so much," you sadly said that he couldn't eat it because he was already sleeping.
"I can buy it for him next time," he promised you.
You smiled at him with your mouth full of food.
He spotted the mess you made on your mouth and hurriedly wiped it with a tissue, "eat well my babies," he said.
"Thank you, baby daddy!" You muttered to him with a gleeful smile.
-
Chan was so amazed that you were still able do things on your own, although your baby bump grew bigger and bigger every day. He wondered how you able to move around carrying the child inside you with such ease like it was nothing.
"Shouldn't you be taking your maternity leave?" He asked as he stood behind you while you worked on your computer.
You grabbed his hand that was resting on your shoulder, "I still can do my work," you assured him.
"I don't want you to get tired," he said to you, looking down on you with worried eyes.
You softly chuckled, "I already planned my maternity leave, don't worry," you comforted him while looking up at him.
And just like that wasn't enough, he saw you carrying little Chan when he got fussy over something that you had to scold him, then comforted him after.
He hurriedly took little Chan from you, but he refused, he wanted you to carry him to bed for a nap.
"It's okay, I can do it," you said to him with a smile.
Once you got out of little Chan's room, he led you to sit on the sofa and offered you a glass of water.
"Thank you," you muttered.
You reclined on the bed and handed him the glass of water back to him.
"Why don't you get a nap?" He suggested you, a hand rubbing your swollen belly.
"I'm not sleepy, but I think I want to lie down for a little bit," you answered.
Chan readily helped you lie down on the sofa, putting a cushion under the side of your baby bump, then sat on the edge of the sofa next to you.
"Do you want anything?" He asked, rubbing you up and down your arm.
You sighed and closed your eyes for a few seconds, "Is it weird that I crave cotton candy ice cream like all of a sudden?" You asked him with a shy smile.
Chan chuckled at you, "why would that be weird?"
He gave your stomach a few circular rubs, then lowered his mouth on it, "you always crave something sweet. Can I take this as a hint that we'll get a baby girl?" He asked with a wink.
You smiled, "maybe," you said with a sly smile.
He squinted his eyes at you, his smug broke into a smile, "I'll order the ice cream for my princesses," he said.
You laughed at him, guessing that he wanted a baby girl so much.
He left to the kitchen where his phone lay on the dining table, then ordered ice cream for you.
"I'll order chocolate for little Chan," he informed you across the room.
"Do you want anything else?" He asked, but there was no reply.
He walked back to the living room and saw you fell asleep on the sofa, one hand folded under your head and the other cradling your baby bump.
Chan smiled looking at you sleeping when you said you didn't feel sleepy, he sat on the sofa and watched you sleeping, putting a thin blanket over your body.
He noticed that your feet were swollen and decided to give you foot rubs.
You stirred in your sleep, he heard the faint whimpers you let out through your slightly parted open mouth.
"What is it, love?" He asked you.
"Why are you whimpering like that?" There was an edge to his voice.
You hummed then mumbled something.
"What is it?"
"My back hurts," you slurred your answer.
"Want to take a painkiller or something?"
You shook your head with your eyes closed, "I can't take any medicine," you slurred your words again, still sleepy.
It took him aback for a second, remembered that you were pregnant and couldn't take just any medicine, "Let me give you back rubs then," he offered.
You hummed then fell back to sleep.
He slipped his hand under your shirt, began rubbing your back and gently massaged it, hoping that it would be enough to lessen your back pain but not hard enough to hurt you.
He felt a tremendous appreciation for you, if it were him, he wasn't sure that he would be as patient, as strong, and as good as you.
He felt sorry that he put you in such a burden, carrying his child while also taking care of him and your child.
He lowered his head close enough to your baby bump and softly spoke to it.
"Hey there," he began.
"We can't wait to meet you," he paused to give it a gentle rub, "but while you're inside, please be good to mommy, okay?"
He then pressed his ear on your stomach, trying to catch any answer from the baby inside.
"I know you'd be one good baby, yeah?" he praised even though he heard nothing but the faint sound of whether it was the baby's heartbeat or yours.
The struggles didn't stop there.
Just like little Chan sensed that a baby was coming and that he'll have a younger sibling soon, he got so clingy to you and asked you to do anything for him that Chan felt bad for couldn't help you much.
"It's alright," you told him so many times when he shot you sad glances.
Little Chan used to ask him to put to bed, but he only wanted you now, he sighed, frustrated that he couldn't do anything because it also made him realize that you are his mother, after all, he needed you the most.
You couldn't mask your exhaustion when you came to the bedroom but still put on a smile for him, "Hey, why aren't you sleeping yet?" You asked.
He walked up to you, hugged you, kissed your forehead, tilted your head with his finger then kissed your lips. He spoiled you with so much affection.
"I prepared a bath for you," he told you along with a peck on the lips.
The bathtub was already filled with milky white water with a nice floral scent when you went to the bathroom. He helped you take off your clothes, held your hands as you carefully stepped inside the tub, and slowly lowered you down inside until your body was engulfed in the warm water.
"Get in too, baby daddy," you said to him with a smile.
He submitted to your wish because it is a command to him.
He stepped inside and then sat behind you, letting you rest your back on his chest.
You grabbed his hand and splayed it on your baby bump, "here, feel it," you said to him.
He felt nothing at first then there was it, a subtle kick on your stomach that startled him.
"The baby is kicking," he said with so much wonder.
You laughed looking at his reaction, "the baby started kicking when I gave little Chan a bath," you told him.
"My God, this is so amazing," he exclaimed in so much disbelief. It never ceases to amaze him whenever he got reminded of the fact that there was a baby inside you, alive and kicking your stomach, that he felt it with his hand.
The baby kicked again, harder this time making you both gasp in surprise.
"I think the baby recognized daddy's voice," you said to him while looking over your shoulder at him.
"Daddy?" He said again.
He got used to you calling him 'baby daddy' because that was just you being playful with him, but once he realized that he is the daddy of the baby, it hit him like a ton of bricks fell on his head.
And the baby kicked again, and Chan hurriedly rubbed your belly, "Daddy's here," he announced to the baby inside you.
"I guess baby can't wait to meet you," you said to him.
Chan got so much to tell the baby but to sum up all of that then yes, he couldn't wait to meet the baby.
He kept rubbing your belly affectionately, "we can't wait to meet you too," he said back.
You rested your head on his shoulder while he kept talking with the baby with both of your hands cradling your baby bump.
-
It was only a month away from your due date, but Chan's schedule was getting packed. He made sure that he had no plans around your due date just in case the baby decided to come out earlier or later than the predicted dates.
He was getting restless the longer he had to leave you, he compensated for it by checking you every few hours or so, asking you if you needed anything or felt anything.
He was so thankful that you were experienced, and that made him less worried, but just a little.
He came home late and couldn't believe himself that you were still up, sitting on the bed listening to classical music playing on your phone on the bedside table.
"Hey, why are you still up?" He asked in a concerned voice.
You weakly smiled, "I can't sleep. The baby keeps kicking," you answered.
"I tried playing some music, it used to work on little Chan but not this one," you explained, then pulled the hem of your nightdress to show your bare baby bump to him with the baby's feet making a dent against the skin, kicking inside your stomach.
His mind was blown once again witnessing all these little wonders.
He quickly got on the bed and scooted closer to you, leaning his head close to your stomach.
"Hi, do you miss daddy?" He asked while softly rubbing your stomach with his thumb.
"Why are you still up? Aren't you sleepy?" He asked again.
You smiled seeing him talking to the baby adorably like that, you slipped your hand in his hair and lazily scratched his head.
"I told you to be good to mommy, remember?" He said again, softly grazing the tip of his nose on your stomach, "Mommy needs some sleep so she can bring you out to this world," he continued, then kissed the skin.
"Go to sleep now, baby," he cooed.
Surprisingly, it worked, the baby stopped kicking once Chan talked to them. Chan triumphantly smiled because the baby listened to him well.
"I think baby misses daddy's voice so much," you said to him.
He will never get used to you calling him like that, especially once he noticed that you wore one of the nightdresses he gifted you in dark blue color, and somehow your pregnant body made you look hotter in it.
Your swollen breasts almost spilled out from the cleavage with the nipples poking through the silky fabric.
He whistled at you, "is it me, or are you getting hotter and hotter?" he asked with a sly smirk.
You chuckled, let him lean in closer to kiss your mouth, "I'm hurt that you forgot to kiss me first," you whined at him."Got to put the baby to sleep first, so we can have some alone time together," he said then kissed you again.
You always thought that once you got pregnant, he would refrain from having sex with you because first, you thought you wouldn't be appealing enough to him physically, and secondly, he's a safety-first kind of guy, he always make sure that you're okay and retracted himself from any possible way that could cause harm on you.
It was the opposite.
He matched your increased sex drive during pregnancy, and you were more than happy about it, and it came as a surprise to you that you also find the sex more enjoyable.
He spooned your from behind, penetrating you from behind in slow and careful thrusts.
His hands cupped your breasts with fingers playing with your hardened buds, humming as he kissed your neck, "hot mommy," He seductively said to your ear.
You giggled at him and captured his full lips in your mouth, gently sucking on his lower lip.
"I can't get enough of you," he said as he bit your earlobe the kissed the skin behind your ear.
"Not only that I got to have you but also have a baby with you," he said.
"Oh, I'm the luckiest," he murmured in your neck as you cum around him.
You lowly moaned, your hand clutching his arm with nails dug into the flesh.
"You're always tight, baby, and it makes me want to keep making babies with you," he whispered to your ear.
You clenched around him even though you had climaxed, and that nudged him closer to the edge.
"Cause I already think of making another baby with you," he admitted.
"What do you think, mmh?" He said along with a few grunts.
He lost control and thrust a little harder until he finally cum inside you.
He held you close, covering your body with the duvet as he cuddled you under after the sex.
He kissed you, softly and hungrily at the same time.
"I meant it when I said I want to have another baby with you," he said.
You laughed at him, "let's take things one at a time, you greedy man," you playfully remarked.
To be honest, you were a little bit afraid that he would be less enthusiastic about you as the time passed, maybe it was the hormones mixed with the insecurities that came with the change of your body as it grew bigger, heavier, completely out of shape that made you felt that way.
But he always gave you words of affirmation without you asking him to.
You are the luckiest person to have someone like him, who loves you no matter what.
-
He whistled once you got out of your bedroom, wearing almost the same black skin-tight dress like the one you wore on a date with him months ago.
"Oh my, my," he said with a giddy smile, feet bouncing in excitement like a little kid on Christmas morning.
What was it with him seeing you in clothes that perfectly showed your baby bump? It inexplicably, strangely aroused him, but he wasn't complaining though.
You put on a minimum make-up, but that was unnecessary because your pregnancy glow shone brighter and made you beautiful in the most natural way.
You went to the same restaurant you always had your dates in.
He ordered the same menu you always have in the same restaurant and replaced the steak with pasta, then ordered an extra cake for dessert because he knew you secretly always crave something sweet.
He stared at you with a smile that didn't wear off even for a mere second.
"Are we celebrating something?" You asked because the date invitation came so sudden that you didn't have enough time to prepare yourself.
"Nothing special," he answered, "I just want to have a date with you and have you for myself before the baby takes all of your attention away from me,"
"I'll always care for you," you said to him with a chuckle, squeezing his hand on the table.
"I know, but once our baby is out to the world, I have no other option but to share you with the baby," he said with a subtle pout.
"Don't be jealous!" You grumbled at him.
He took your hand and kissed your knuckles, "it's kind of hot, though," he commented out of the blue.
"What?"
"Technically speaking, I'm dating two girls at once right now," he said with a lopsided grin.
"How are you so sure that the baby is a girl?"
He shrugged, "I know that I keep saying regardless of gender, but I want a baby girl," he explained.
You knew this even before he conveyed it, he subtly mentioned it a handful of times already.
"And she'll be as beautiful as you," he added with a dreamy smile.
You went for a walk around the park after, he bought you your weird pregnancy craving despite you never liked it in the first place: cotton candy ice cream.
You sat on the same bench you sat on when you had a date, but this time the cherry blossom trees were dead with snow piled on their branches.
You got sentimental when it crossed your mind that it would probably be the last time you spent your time together before the child comes into the world, making you and Chan bound through a biological child, and starting a new family life together with him.
Then it got you unbearably sad, feeling so blessed to find such a perfect man that loves you, cherishes you, accepts you for who you are.
Mostly, how lucky you are to be able to experience love again after years of a failed marriage and an absence of a partner.
You went to hug him before you got into the car and broke down crying into his chest.
"Why are you crying?" He got panicked seeing you suddenly crying to him like this.
"I love you so much," you blurted out, muffled as you nuzzled your face deeper into his chest. Your heart ached at the feeling of emptying it through the words to him.
"Oh baby," he sadly cooed.
He held you close and kissed your head repeatedly, "you know I love you so much, you make me the happiest man on earth," he sighed with his hands rubbing your back while you kept crying to his chest.
"You make all this possible to me. You make me wonder if I deserve all of these, you, little Chan, and our baby," he said to you.
"This love that I got from you," he held the back of your head and angled it upward to face him.
"Thank you for making my life whole, complete, meaningful..." he ran out of words to say, despite he could list all of the feelings you made him feel.
"You're everything I want and searched for in a person," he finished.
He wiped your tears away with his thumb, "I love you," he said, it sounded plain, but that summed up everything he tried to say.
It felt like forever you haven't heard him saying it to you.
You knew he loves you without him needing to say it verbally to you, but having to hear it coming right out of his mouth, this validation that your feelings were returned just the same, made you realize how essential it was.
"I love you," you said back to him because he needed to hear it too.
Despite him knowing your devotion to him by patiently carrying your child, caring for the baby, and taking care of him without asking anything in return.
You both are the luckiest.
The stars aligned when you met and fell in love.
-
"How do you feel?" He asked as he lay next to you on the bed, ready to end the day and make it a day closer to the most awaited day in both of your lives.
"About what?"
"That the due date is only days away," he replied.
"Uhm..." you hummed to think of something as a comparison.
"Like when you're waiting for the exam results, partly scared that you won't pass but couldn't wait to find out either," you explained.
"It's heart fluttering," he cooed at you.
He tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, "I'll take care of you well. You don't have to worry about anything," he assured you.
"I trust you," you quickly added.
He smiled then pressed a kiss on your lips, the kiss continued into a full-on make-out with his hands roaming your voluminous body.
Someone pushed the door of your bedroom and made you both shot upright on the bed to see little Chan enter your room while dragging his blanket behind him.
"Mommy," he whined, nose scrunched up and on the verge of crying.
Chan hurriedly came to him and placed him in the space between you and Chan on the bed.
"You want to sleep with mommy?" You asked him.
He nodded with eyes still heavy with sleep.
"But promise to be careful with mommy's tummy, okay?" You told him.
He nodded again, nestled his head so close to your pillow that you patted his back to get him back to sleep while Chan put the blanket over his body.
"Are you ready to have another one like this?" You playfully asked him, looking at him across little Chan who had already fallen back to sleep.
"Yes," he answered without a beat.
He took your hand and rested on little Chan's back, "I can do anything when I'm with you," he said to you, with eyes that were telling you he was being genuine.
He got a glimpse of what he would be having in a few days, sleeping on the bed like this with you and little Chan with hands clasped together.
Chan was still sleeping in your bedroom when you woke him up the next morning, softly patting his back to wake him up without startling him, "Chan, can you wake up and get dressed?" You asked him.
He frantically got up, "what's wrong?"
"I think it's time," you told him, eyes shot down to your baby bump.
It took him a moment to register that what you meant was you were about to give birth that day.
"Oh!" He jolted awake, scrambled to get his clothes on the floor, and put them on.
"Are you in pain?" He asked.
"No," you shook your head, "take your time and get dressed. I'll be waiting in the living room," you told him.
But he couldn't move without feeling jittery, and nervous. No matter how many times he prepared himself for this moment, the reality was far different from what he expected.
He put on decent clothes and had to look twice that you had prepared everything, the bags you should take to the hospital and other essential things.
"Are you sure you're okay?" He asked you again once he safely seated little Chan in the backseat and saw you got on the passenger's side.
"I'm okay. No need to worry," you assured him with a thin smile on your face.
But how could he calm about it when you clutched the safety belt so hard that your knuckles turned white the whole ride to the hospital.
Little Chan was still clingy and insisted on sitting on the hospital bed with you while you waited for the operation room to be ready for you.
He came back from calling your family and informed them that you were about to deliver the baby that day. He held your hand and looked at you with weary eyes, "I know you're in pain, it's okay, I'm here for you," he told you.
You weakly smiled at him, "because you're here, it doesn't feel that painful," you said.
A nurse came and informed you that the operation room was ready, you quickly held little Chan so tight and kissed him on the forehead.
"Mommy loves you so much, you know that?" You sweetly said to him.
"Mommy will be back soon. We'll be seeing each other again," you promised him, then kissed him again on the cheek.
Chan got sad seeing you talking to little Chan like that, like you wouldn't be seeing each other again, reminded him of the awful things that might happen when you give birth.
He got teary thinking of the possibility that he might lose you and reluctantly took Chan, and carried him in his arms.
He had to break his promise to not cry, not because he wanted to protect his dignity but because he didn't want to make you sad or looked sad to you. He had to wait for your parents to come so they can take care of little Chan, and he could be with you in the operation room.
He broke into tears the moment he saw you crying in pain, struggling to give birth to your child together, and he came to you, holding your hands, pressing his head so close to yours and encouraging you with words.
But all that came out was, "I love you so much," he murmured repeatedly.
He imprinted this moment in his head, the pain and the joy, all the emotions that came out of it so he'll remember to never, ever take you for granted ever again.
-
It felt like a dream to him.
That you and he created a life together and brought this little human to the world.
Her little toes and fingers, her body not even bigger than his arm, the one that he had been waiting for to come to his life, lying on his chest.
So pure, fragile, delicate. Warm and so soft, so cuddly, lovely. He had never seen anything like her in years.
His heart overflowed with so many emotions at once but mostly love, full to the brim.
She cried into his chest and it made him laugh, how she cried exactly like you always did to him.
"Daddy's here, daddy's here," he told the little one while gently patting her back like she is a piece of glassware that could break if he isn't careful.
She calmed down when Chan covered her with the blanket, humming in a low voice and cooing at her, hooking her little fingers around his index finger.
She's a lovely tiny thing, his dream girl, love at the first sight, and forever his true love, a happiness that multiplies and expands his life, the one who adds more meaning to his life, who gives him purpose and a new life, entirely.
He got melancholic when he had to part with his little one for she had to get back to her crib, and the nurses ran a quick check up on her.
For the first time in his life, Chan felt like the path of his life had become clearer, like he knew what he is going to do and go next.
For the first time in his life, he existed not only for himself but also for this child, his beautiful little angel, Jinnie.
-
Was it possible to be in love with you over and over again?
Cause it didn't make sense to him.
When he thought he couldn't be more in love with you, he fell in love with you more, harder, deeper, then out of control.
There was no way of escaping it.
He watched you as you breastfed the newborn, cradling her in your arms, caressing her soft little cheek with the back of your fingers in the most endearing way possible.
It was like looking into a prism, he got to see a new side of you under a new light.
Your bare face so radiant to him, your hair down and tousled and draped on your shoulder, you looked up at him and smiled.
And the smile made his heart palpate, butterflies fluttering awake in his stomach.
"She's so beautiful," you said as you looked at her small face with her small facial features.
He could say the same thing about you, you looked so divine that he thought he was looking at a painting.
"She has your nose," you added, poking her little nose with your index finger.
Chan moved to sit next to you on the bed, sitting right behind you and looking over your shoulder at his daughter, then smiled.
"She's beautiful like you," he said to you.
You turned your head at him and smiled, he captured it with a sweet kiss.
"Thank you for making me a father," he said to you, putting an arm around you and the baby.
"Gosh, I'm so lucky," he murmured then kissed you again.
You both looked at her with so much love, admiring her presence and thanking her for her existence that will forever bind you together.
Chan remembered something when he registered the baby for her birth certificate.
But when he got back to the hospital, your room was always crowded with guests.
It was hard to have you for himself when they kept coming to your room, congratulating you and admiring your newborn child, the flowers that didn't stop coming.
To top it all off, the members came at the end of the visiting hours, and the first thing they did was make fun of Chan.
They could tell he cried without anyone telling them, they knew him very well because he's soft-hearted like that.
The baby girl cried because of the noise they made but Chan, a quick learner he is, he already mastered how to carefully picked up the baby into his arms.
He softly bounced her in his arms, then showed her to the members.
Everyone cooed, completely whipped by her.
"Hyung, she's so pretty," Changbin praised, hesitating to touch her cheek with his finger, "she will break so many hearts when she's older,"
"I told you, she'll look like my aunt," Jeongin cut in, then shoved a grape into his mouth from the fruit bowl next to your bed.
Chan didn't even care about what everyone said, or maybe because Seungmin was also too whipped to make witty remarks on Chan.
"She's so small," Hyunjin said with an inaudible gasp, afraid that his voice would wake her up. His jaws had been hung open from the moment he set his eyes on her.
"Look at her little fingers," he said, couldn't handle the cuteness that he squeezed Felix's shoulder instead and made him yelped in pain.
"So cute, Hyung," Hyunjin said with his nose scrunched, huddled together with Felix to look at the baby in Chan's arms.
"Hyung, can I hold her? I want to see if she bounces if I throw her up in the air," Minho joked at him.
Chan hissed at him and squinted his eyes, "I believe she bounces just right," he said to him.
Unfortunately, they had to leave soon cause the visiting hours had ended. They said goodbye to you and the baby, wishing you a speedy recovery, along with a nice bouquet of baby breath and daisies flowers.
Chan made sure that the baby was already sleeping before he got back to you and sat next to you on the bed.
"Do you want anything?" He asked you.
You shook your head, "no, I'm good," you answered.
"Come, lay down with me," you ordered as you scooted on the small hospital bed to make a space for him.
He put a hand on you once he lay down next to you, "Can I ask you something?"
"Yeah,"
"How do you feel?"
"Of what?"
"Everything,"
"Amazing! If I could go back in time, I would definitely do it all over again," you replied with a gleeful smile, "I wouldn't change a single thing about it,"
Chan smiled, looking at your blissful smile that melted him from the inside.
"I should be the one that got jealous," you said out of the blue.
"Huh?"
"I should be the one that got jealous of our child," you took his hand and intertwined it together with his.
"She's so lucky to have you as her first love," you said.
Chan grinned at the knowledge you just shared with him, the realization that he got to be the first love of his daughter, the first man she met and loves, how precious is that!
"Don't be jealous! I'll always be yours," he convinced you.
"Yeah?"
He nodded.
He glanced at the clock on the wall, showing the time that it was past midnight already.
"And you'll always be mine," he added.
With a hand framing your face and a nice smile painted on his face, he sighed in so much contentment like everything was right in its right places.
"Happy birthday!" he quietly said to you, tried not to wake the baby up and generally because it's a hospital after all.
You blinked at him, dazed and confused, everything blurred together that you detached from the bound of time.
"Is it really my birthday?" You asked him in so much shock.
Chan softly chuckled, then nodded, "you even forgot your own birthday,"
"How nice! Now I'm three years older than you," you made a snide comment to yourself.
He pressed his mouth to the side of your face to muffle his laugh, "and a mommy of two," he added with a mischievous grin.
You dramatically sighed, "what a joy!" You exclaimed then broke into a low laugh.
He turned your head to face him and looked deeply into your eyes, "it's your birthday, but you're the one who gifted me such a special present," he said with so much sincerity.
Chan stretched out his hand to his coat that hung on the chair, he pulled out a small box that he presented to you.
"As much as I wanted to propose to you so many times, this is not it," he quickly said.
And you giggled at his remark.
It wasn't traumatizing to you, but marriage is one long process. It takes two to make it happen, two bodies and two souls, then try to merge it into one. And maybe you were in the rare percent of people who still believe that marriage is holy matrimony, a sacred union that you wish would last for eternity.
When your previous marriage unfortunately ended, you got a little broken inside, and it somehow made a dent in your belief,, but you stood firm still.
"One at a time," you said to him.
"One at a time," you said again, hinting that everything was still possible.
You flipped open the velvet box and found a ring inside, a gold band ring with a pale blue stone, aquamarine, your birthstone.
"Put it on me," you ordered, handing him the box.
He took the ring and slowly slipped it on your ring finger.
"This is not a marriage proposal," he warned again with a smile at you.
You looked at the ring, perched so nicely on your finger like it was meant to be there.
"You're not an object, but this is my way of letting people know that you belong to someone, me, you're mine," he said in the most possessive way yet so heartwarming at the same time.
"Happy birthday, love," he congratulated you once again, caught your chin between his thumb and index finger, then slowly brought his mouth on you, brushing his lips so softly.
"Thank you," you muttered with your lips grazing his when you spoke.
You beamed a smile at him while glancing down at the ring, "I love it so much,"
He took your hand and placed a kiss on the ring and on your knuckles, "I'm forever grateful for your existence," he murmured.
Your cheeks hurt from smiling so much and you felt like you could combust at any second with this much happiness inside you.
"I love you," you whispered to him while holding him close to the bed.
"I love you," he said back with another kiss on your temple.
The next day, your family came with a birthday cake and made you blow the candles in front of them, he witnessed once again how you are so loved just like he said and assured you so many times.
Your mother noticed the ring on your finger.
"A birthday gift from Jinnie's daddy," you shyly replied, showing the ring he gifted you last night.
Your mother glared at Chan and raised an eyebrow, "what's the ring supposed to mean?" She asked with a smile.
"I proposed to her so many times, and she kept on rejecting me," he said to your mother.
And your mother glared at you now, "and why would you keep rejecting this fine man?"
"Mom, please," you begged her to stop and made you both uneasy with all the eyes darted toward you and Chan.
Just like baby Jinnie noticed that the center of attention shifted from her to you, she started crying in her grandfather's arms.
And everyone scrambled to calm the baby down and cooed at her. You were grateful that everyone loves her so much. She's truly a gift.
-
After three days spent in the hospital, you finally got discharged, and it felt nice to be back home. Little Chan ran around the house, happy that he finally got back to his toys after spent time either in the hospital or in his grandma's house.
Chan had set up a crib for baby Jinnie in your bedroom, and everything essential for her was placed around the room.
Years of experienced nights without sleeping came to use when baby Jinnie kept waking both of you up in the middle of the night, either she was hungry or needed a change of diaper.
Chan patiently took care of her, only woke you up when she needed to breastfeed from you.
It wasn't easy, and it reminded Chan how much his parents had sacrificed for him, it takes one to know one.
And the great responsibility that comes with it, that her life is depending on him and you and together you'll take part to shape her to be a person she'll grow up to be.
He wanted only the best things for her, happiness, good things only, and put harm away from her no matter what.
"Such a daddy's little girl!" You said once you handed her to him after bathing her, she cried like she sensed that it wasn't his daddy's arms that held her.
"Mommy is just jealous," Chan playfully said to baby Jinnie.
You dramatically rolled your eyes at him.
Chan pulled you close and placed a kiss on your lips, a quick yet deep one with a hand grabbed your backside, and gently squeezed on the flesh.
"You'll have your turn, mommy," he said to you with a sly smirk.
You scoffed and gave him side-eyes, "I'm not jealous at all," you strongly denied, but that only made it obvious.
Despite the baby needing a lot of care, you spent most of your time with little Chan because you were afraid he would feel left out.
You gave his hair trim in the bathroom, and laughed at how he made silly comments, kept reminding you not to make him bald.
"Mommy promise to keep your hair as long as you stay still," you compromised with him.
And he got a little mature too.
He understood when the baby cried that meant she needed you, and he would warn you, by saying "Mommy, the baby is crying," or "mommy, the baby is hungry," like a big brother should be.
After giving him instructions, you carefully put baby Jinnie on his lap while Chan kept grimacing, afraid he would topple to the side and send them both falling.
Chan got extremely protective of baby Jinnie, you understood his fear really well but only to an understandable extent.
"You're big enough to not let baby Jinnie fall, right?" You asked him.
"Uh-huh," he answered while holding baby Jinnie with all the strength he had in him.
You took so many pictures before he got too tired holding baby Jinnie with his hands, and Chan hurriedly helped him to steady himself on the sofa.
"Small baby," he beamed with his adorable giggles.
You kneeled next to the sofa and watched him looking at the baby with such delicacy in his eyes, "isn't your baby sister so pretty?" You asked.
He nodded, "like mommy," he answered.
"You can play with your baby sister once she get a bit older," you told him.
"You can play plushies with her, swim together, play hide and seek, everything,"
Chan watched the whole conversation with a big smile on his face and a hand on your thigh, squeezing on the flesh because the cuteness got so unbearable.
"I'll let her play with my toys," he said to you, slurring his words.
"That's so nice of you!" You praised him.
Baby Jinnie held her fists up and blinked her eyes at him, "Looks like your sister wants a hug," you told him.
Little Chan hesitated at first but brought her close enough to hug her by lowering his head to her.
You cooed looking at a heartwarming moment and quickly took a picture, "she's so cuddly, right?"
He nodded and turned his head at you with eyes glossed like two clear marbles.
He looked so in love, mesmerized by his baby sister.
"You are mommy's sweetest boy," you praised him again and bit back your tears by swallowing them down your throat, feeling blessed to have a child like him.
He giggled then continued to admire his baby sister, holding her little hands, giggling and mumbling words to her.
"You raise him well," Chan whispered to you along with a kiss on the cheek.
"And we'll keep raising them well together," you added, then took his hand and laced it, feeling hopeful of your future together.
-
Chan always misses baby Jinnie, especially when he's away from her.
What kind of magic spell that he caught from her? All he knows, it is a strong, overpowering one.
When he got home, the first thing he did was check on her that he forgot to kiss you as he usually do whenever he comes home.
"Welcome home, Jinnie's daddy," you said with a thin smile.
He chuckled because he was aware of his mistake, he came up to you and made up to you with a long kiss on the lips.
"I miss you," he said to the crook of your neck.
"Are you sure you miss me?"
"I miss my family so much," he replied.
You chuckled then slowly let go of his hold, "can you stay with her? I need to shower," you said.
"Of course! Take your time," he said to you.
Chan stayed in the bedroom holding baby Jinnie until he fell asleep on the bed together with her.
You moved the baby and put her in the crib while still dressed in your bathrobe.
Chan jolted awake, blinking his eyes to push the sleep away from his eyes.
"I didn't mean to sleep," he quickly said.
You waved him off, "it's okay. I fed her full so she'll be sleeping well," you told him.
It felt like forever that he hadn't spoiled you as you deserved, paying attention to you, especially now that you took care of two children, and barely have time for yourself.
Chan sat up on the bed with his feet on the edge of the bed, "come here, let me do it for you," he said, gesturing to the towel, and offering to dry your hair.
You sat on his lap, facing to the side while he used the towel to gently dry your hair with it.
"How's your day, baby daddy?" You asked him, looped an arm around him.
"Tiring, but once I looked at my baby girl, it's magically vanished," he answered.
It amazed him that with just one look at his baby girl, all of the bad of his day vanished in a second.
"You worked so hard," you said to him, then pressed a kiss on his lips.
Your bathrobe slid to the side, exposing one side of your shoulder and breast. He swallowed air looking at your swollen breast, full of breastmilk.
He tossed the towel away and shifted you on his lap, making you straddle him with your legs on each side of him.
He brought you close by your chin and then kissed you, kisses with tongues and teeth clashed together.
You sensed his neediness right away as his hands quietly untied your bathrobe, and slid it off your body until it pooled around your waist.
He dragged his mouth down your neck, and you closed your eyes at the heating of your body, burning with desire.
His hot mouth rushed to your breast, placing kisses on the flesh then hastily took your nipple in his mouth.
He had been curious to find out the taste of your breastmilk, and his head went haywire when he finally got to taste it.
He softly sucked on the bud until drops of breastmilk came out that he could taste on his tongue.
He opened his mouth wider, and greedily took more of your breast before started sucking on the breast again, feeding on your breastmilk.
It aroused you somehow that you slowly grind on him, your bare crotch seeking friction on his lap with your hands on his shoulders.
He let go of his breast once he got full, a drop of milk rolled down your breast, which he quickly licked, didn't want it to go to waste.
"You taste so good," he said to you with clouded eyes.
You didn't get a chance to answer him because he took your other breast into his mouth, and sucked harder on it once he knew how good it tasted.
"You're so greedy, daddy!" You softly moaned and tried to keep it low not wake the baby up.
You looked down at his lips wrapped around your nipple and hummed, "not saving any for your daughter, mmh?"
He grinned at you with your nipple tugged between his teeth, "just a little bit more," he pleaded.
He took your nipple again, drinking in the milk, and swallowed them down his throat, you could see his Adam's apple bobbed.
He gasped the moment he let go of your breast, a drop of milk escaped the corner of his mouth, and you quickly wiped it with your thumb.
"My big baby," you poked fun at him.
"No wonder our baby likes it so much," he murmured to you with a sigh.
Without warning, he lay you down on the bed, and took the bathrobe off of you, tossed it onto the floor.
"I gave birth twice, Chan, my body changed a lot," you informed him, your legs crossed at the knees, self-conscious of its appearance.
He took your hand and put it on the bulge poked against his dark jeans, "but why does it entice me the same, mmh?" He asked you.
"Jinnie's mommy," he softly called you with a seductive smile.
"You're so hot," he said to you with a hand tracing the valley of your breasts.
You unbuttoned his shirt, and he eventually took it off for you so you could run your hands down his chest just how you like.
"You're just as hot, Jinnie's daddy," you teased back.
He lowered his mouth on you, burying his head in your neck and peppering the skin with feather-like kisses that made you flutter inside.
"You'd better keep it low," you warned him.
But that warning was supposed to be aimed at yourself, couldn't contain your moans that Chan had to shut you up with his kisses.
He deeply groaned and pushed all of his lengths inside you until the tip touched something he knew would bring you so much pleasure.
Your mouth agape, about letting out a loud moan but hurriedly pulled Chan's head for a kiss to muffle it.
"You feel so, so good," he murmured to your ear, lips brushing the shell of your ear when he spoke.
Propping his hands on each side of you as his hips didn't stop motioning in and out of you at a steady pace.
"I want to keep making babies with you," He said to you with a hand rested on your stomach.
"I want you to be the mother of all of my children," he said between his low grunts.
"I want to make a big family with you,"
All of his words only sent you closing into your high, eyes rolled to the back of your head as your body took all of his hard thrusts.
You bit the back of your hand to shut yourself up, biting on the flesh as you relish the euphoric feeling of coming to your release.
It took just a few more hard thrusts for Chan to finally cum, quickly pulled out of you, and unloaded his seed on your stomach, afraid that he might impregnate you again without earning your consent.
He kissed you before falling next to you on the bed, kissing you down until you both gained your composure back.
He cleaned you up real quick, putting his shirt on you after so you could lay down on the bed. He climbed back onto the bed after putting sweatpants on and scooted closer to cuddle you.
"You'll always be my favorite girl," he said to you as he spooned you from behind, hands wrapped around your body.
"You're only saying it now," you said back to him with a pout, "you'll forget about it once your daughter wakes up," you added.
He kissed your pout, then laughed, "are you that jealous?"
"I'm not jealous," you denied once again.
He tickled you until you burst out laughing, "you're going to wake baby Jinnie," he said to you to your growing laughter.
"Stop tickling!"
"No, I won't," he said.
"So mature of you!" You sneered at him between your giggles.
He tightened his hold around you, not willing to let go, and pressed more kisses on your face and neck, making you giggle even more as he buried his nose deeper into your neck.
"You're my number one favorite girl," he whispered to you along with a slobbering kiss on your cheek with his hand across your chest.
"Baby Jinnie is close on the second," he added.
You lightly elbowed him on the stomach, "how could you do that to your daughter, she should come first,"
Chan yelped and held you tight, "no, you're my number one, and that's final,"
You secretly smiled at his words and let him hold you tight the whole night until you fell asleep.
-
Chan was still reeling, pinching himself whenever he felt like life was too good to be true.
He got you, the best girlfriend he could ask for, he got little Chan and baby Jinnie, his wonderful kids and he made a home in all these people.
He felt like missing something if any of you wasn't present in his life as each one of you holds a piece of him inside of you, making you three the only ones who are capable to piece him back together when he falls apart.
Time flies so fast when each day holds the fondest memories that he'll treasure forever.
The next thing he knew, baby Jinnie crawled on the bed and tried to wake him up by climbing his back, drooling on his bare skin while you were watching from across the bed, laughing.
"Say, 'Daddy, wake up!'," You told baby Jinnie who only looked up to you, didn't understand any words you said to her.
Chan smiled into his pillow and slowly lifted his body along with baby Jinnie on his back, making her squeal but quick to catch her before she fell to the side.
"Daddy is awake! Daddy is awake!" He told the little girl and held her by the waist, sat her down on her stomach.
"You planned this, but you're the only one waking up late," you told him.
Chan rubbed the sleep off his eyes, then looked at you, "at least give me a morning kiss before you scold me," he said with a voice tinted with sleep.
You couldn't say no when you were also yearning for his kisses, leaned down and kissed him on the lips.
Little Chan came to the room, dragging you by the hand to come with him to his bedroom.
"Hurry up! The kids are getting impatient," you told him before leaving the room.
The picnic was his idea.
He wanted to have a nice day out with you before the summer ended. You packed lunches and everything for the day since the night before.
One of his songs was playing on the radio during the ride to the place you were going.
"Did you notice something?" He asked with one hand on the steering wheel and the other resting on your thigh.
"What?"
"Hear something?" He asked again.
You gave him a confused look, "your song?"
He glared and frowned, "you didn't hear it?"
"What?"
He sighed, "there's Jinnie's heartbeat in the song,"
You tipped your head to the side and intently listened to the song, "wait, wait, how come I never noticed it before?" You asked in surprise.
"You lost 10 brownie points already from not giving me a proper morning kiss, and you lost another 10 points for not recognizing your own daughter's heartbeat. I can tell baby Jinnie is going to win today," he said to you.
He had fun playing this game where you compete with baby Jinnie to be his favorite girl of the day, the one who gets the most brownie points from him wins it.
It was all for fun, of course, you had fun listening to him listing all the good you did to amuse him that day to win it.
"You won today because you looked so hot in that dress today. I can't stop staring," he once said.
"Baby Jinnie won today because she didn't fuss when I took her to the doctor today,"
"You won for the whole week because come on! Last night earned you a thousand brownie points," he said with a sly smile.
Then there was an absurd reason like,
"Baby Jinnie liked it more when I'm the one giving her a bath, and mommy lost 10 points for that, so she won by 5 points," he said, making that day the most unfair judgment you ever got.
Chan looked at her through the rearview mirror, "Baby Jinnie, you won Daddy's favorite girl of the day again!" He said to the baby girl who lay inside her baby seat, sucking on a pacifier.
You scoffed at him, "but it's only 10 am," you said to him.
"Sorry, it's final!" He said to you with a dead stare.
You watched Chan and little Chan playing soccer ball on the field while you and baby Jinnie sat on the picnic mat with her on your lap, munching on a piece of strawberry.
"Lunchtime, you guys!" You shouted at them and then started spreading out the packed lunch boxes you had prepared for them on the picnic mat.
They both raced in your direction, little Chan panted as the winner who arrived first to you, you quickly handed him a bottle of water.
"Come sit next to mommy," you ordered, patting the space next to you.
Chan helped you prep the lunch, and you sat baby Jinnie between your legs, letting her rest her back on your chest and play with her milk bottle.
"I've been thinking of something," he said as he sat next to little Chan and helped him pick up sausage with a fork.
"I know what you're trying to say, baby, I know," you said, already guessing what he was trying to say, and he had said at least more than ten times already.
"Listen to me first!" he insisted, half laughing.
"Okay, okay," you said, shoving a sliced apple into your mouth.
"Let's get married!" He said, as clear as the sky and as loud as the cicadas buzzing in the trees.
You stared at him, looked him dead in the eyes.
"Your mom is subtly threatening me to marry you as soon as possible," he said.
He understood by now that the true reason you kept rejecting was not that you didn't want to, you were just not ready yet.
"Then marry her, and maybe she'll stop threatening you," you joked.
"I would, but I'm scared of your dad," he joked back.
Chan shoved a piece of omelet into his mouth, "okay then I have another proposal," he announced.
You could tell what he was going to say next.
"Let's have another child," he said.
You scoffed and glared at him again, "Baby Jinnie is barely a year old," widened your eyes at him.
"But think about this, if one day little Chan and baby Jinnie fought, there should be someone who breaks the fight,"
"It's one of us who should do it," you lightly answered.
"But what if we need to vote for something, there are four of us. What if we get an even result? We need another one!" He passionately explained.
You sighed and wiped baby Jinnie's mouth as the juice from the strawberry made a mess on her mouth.
"I'm thinking of a baby brother," he said like he could imagine the baby already.
You grabbed his hand to calm him down, "let's take our time, okay?" You reminded him.
"I want to get married and have another child with you. I do!" You assured him.
"But let's just take our time, enjoy the present, and we can talk about it again when we're both ready," you softly spoke to him.
He smiled at you and understood the reason why you were so adamant about all of his proposals.
"You're right, let's take our time," he said with a smile that grew wider and brighter the longer he stared at you.
You continued having the meals together, enjoying the sunny weather and the warm breeze, baby Jinnie got amazed by a butterfly flying around her head.
"I honestly have another proposal," he suddenly said with a grimace.
You winced at him and sighed in defeat.
"Let's adopt a dog," he suggested.
"Puppy!" Little Chan shouted in excitement at the mention of dogs, you knew he always wanted one, but you relented because he wasn't old enough to take care of one.
"Do you want a puppy?" You asked him.
Little Chan eagerly nodded.
"What about baby Jinnie?" You asked as you lifted the baby girl and looked at her, with strawberry juice painted on her face.
"Come on, mommy, don't be so stiff!" Chan said with pouty lips, teasing you.
He made little Chan do the same puppy eyes with their lower lips jutting out at you, making you couldn't resist both of them.
"Mommy, please?" Little Chan said, and it moved your heart in an instant.
"But you promise mommy to take care of it well, okay?"
He giggled then shouted something in enthusiasm, "yes, yes yes," he said repeatedly.
"Okay then, a puppy!" You said while looking at Chan in the eyes, finally agreed on his last proposal.
Chan and little Chan shouted in celebration and simultaneously planted a kiss on both of your cheeks, leaving wet marks from their slobbering, triumphant kisses.
And that's how your family got bigger.
It was like a big one cliché, a poster family that consists of a dad, a mum, two kids, and a dog. You couldn't tell if you were as happy as any other family, but you never followed anyone's standard from day one.
You measured happiness by your own standard, and this is it.
Another star just aligned with yours, connected them with the other, creating the most beautiful constellations on the night of your sky.
