as previously stated, this is a dialogue prompt event! underneath the guidelines are prompts. you’re free to choose whichever one you want and send an ask for me to write a short drabble based on it!
i will be accepting requests for enhypen and nct dream for this event!
please note that i’m a minor and won’t be writing anything nsfw. you will be blocked if you send me anything inappropriate.
while i won’t be writing smut, i am open to writing suggestive content. kindly note that i won’t be writing anything suggestive for sunoo, jungwon, riki and jisung.

i’ve seen a lot of posts going around about how writers are leaving due to lack of feedback, how sfw writers get less traction than nsfw writers, how longfic writers—especially sfw fic writers, suffer the most out of all of these. and i have to say, as an sfw longfic writers i really agree with all of these. i reblog almost every rant i come across from frustrated writers, reblog almost every psa, every attempt to educate those new to tumblr and the reblogging system.
but it seems like there’s been a misconception. something that makes readers mad. “you should be grateful we’re reading your works in the first place!”
well. i guess so. but is it really too much to ask for a simple reblog instead of a like? with a few words in the tags? even no words at all. empty reblogs are still above likes. i get not wanting to say anything sometimes, sometimes i’m tired and just want to read something without saying anything about it. it doesn’t have anything to do with the author or quality of work, but just the fact that i’m tired. so reblog with nothing. or an “👍” in the tags. makes a world of difference. most writers won’t care if the “feedback” is just a few words. and as a writer and a reader, i see both sides.
now, about the “be grateful!”. i… suppose. i don’t know a single author that’s ungrateful though. wanting more meaningful interactions isn’t ungrateful for what they have now. in fact, when i see most rants about lack of interaction they almost always start off with how grateful they are for what they have now. it’s not selfish to ask for that. personally, i’d rather have 50 notes, but most of those notes be reblogs and feedback, than 500 notes, with all of them being likes. don’t know if everyone feels that way, but it’s certainly how i feel.
so basically, no. you don’t have to reblog or leave feedback. you don’t have to interact at all. you can read every piece of work that the writers you follow puts out without leaving a single like. that’s all up to you and none of us can force you to do anything else. we don’t want to force you to do these things. but if you’re not going to use a small bit of effort to give back to us for the hard work we put in and ignore us continuously when we say we’re losing motivation because of lack of feedback, you don’t get to be mad. you don’t get to demand faster output, you don’t get to be mad when requests take longer, you don’t get to be mad when authors eventually leave. you don’t get to be mad when you could have helped prevent this.
at first i didn’t mind people leaving, because lack of feedback seemed to weed out the weird people who came here to “write” for the sake of “tumblr fame”. okay, good riddance. but that was before i really became a creator on here. i started watching some really talented, dedicated writers leave. people that truly love writing. people that have been writing their entire lives. you might think it’s stupid for people to leave over a lack of feedback—i did at first, i admit it—but until you’re in writers’ shoes, you don’t know how damn devastating it can be. and it was angering, because i always reblog with feedback now. but one reblog sometimes isn’t enough. just because a fic already has feedback and reblogs doesn’t mean yours won’t count. if you wanted to say “i liked this!” then say it. your reblog, no matter how simplistic you think it is, could be the reason someone stays and keeps writing.
this is very long and rambly and choppy because i wrote it without planning anything out. just my feelings. but lastly, i want to leave you with this thought. next time you see a post talking about a subject like this, about reblogs vs. likes, i want you to check the notes. oftentimes many people reblog those posts, like i do, to educate their followers. and that leads to more reblogs. more people talking about it. it expands the audience. shows new people. it allows the post to constantly grow.

SYNOPSIS | minghao remembers the ocean well. he used to go every summer when he was little, and throughout the year when he was old enough to travel on his own. he didn’t care whether it was hot and sunny, or so cold that the sea carried small sheets of ice to wash up at his feet. seoul, on the other hand, didn’t have a beach. it didn’t have an ocean. consequently, he found himself traveling to jeju more than his wallet could take, not knowing that distant memories from haicheng, liaoning would travel along with him, no matter how hard he tried to bury it in the sands of his hometown.

oh anon.... thank u v much for asking but my response is probably not what you're expecting 💀
so my main issue with this is the engenes that feel the need to protect sunoo. the fans that are upset because they think these comments have hurt/will hurt sunoo need to sit down and think abt it for a second. SUNOO is the one who brought up the joke, right? not anybody else. maybe won did trigger the elephant/boar joke but sunoo is the one who brought up the joke w sunghoon.
we, as fans, have no right to create a judgement on the boys' friendship. we cannot use 30 second clips of v lives to determine whether they're good friends or not. we can't say sunoo's upset or not, either, because we don't know him like that. it's kinda weird that people think they can guess how idols feel. do you know them personally? absolutely not. you have no idea what type of boundaries sunoo has set with his friends. i, personally, allow my family and closest friends to make fat jokes to me, but if someone im not close w says anything like that i get upset. how do you know that's not the case w sunoo? how do i know that it is? we need to stop pretending that we know these idols because at the end of the day we DO NOT.
the issue with the fatphobic jokes is that enhypen are public figures. they hold a level of responsibility with their words more than the average teenager. while they are free to make whatever jokes they like behind the camera, jokes like this shouldn't be made on screen. again, we cannot determine how they behave off screen because we do not know them like that!!!!! but on screen, fatphobic jokes such as those can genuinely upset some FANS and THAT'S the only issue i have with the situation.
i'm not upset for sunoo: he's 19 years old and he can stand up for himself if he wants to w out hundreds of thousands of fans doing it for him??? i'm upset for the FANS THAT HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THE JOKES. i think we need to educate enhypen to be more careful w what they say online. because do you genuinely believe that you can educate them on fatphobia? it's been shoved down their throats since they were born, and implemented even more while they were trainees. they are teenage boys, they're not gonna read through your letters on why fatshaming is an awful thing to do. we should be educating them if how to behave in front of others, and how to avoid hurting the fans who support them, instead. while id love to educate them on fatphobia, it's not realistic enough.
align your morals correctly and stop pretending you know how idols feel when you don't.

tired of the whole movement that’s people saying ’i read 200 books in a year’ and reading as a means of boasting and hardcover books being bought and never read after the instagram picture and most booktubers reading and recommending the same books and poorly written books selling fast because they have pretty covers and tropes people like and authors on twitter being afraid to say anything serious out of fear of being divisive and the whole let people enjoy things dialogue every time someone expresses that they think something is written shittily as is their god given right to form an opinion as a reader without randos on the internet taking it personally because OMG someone else didn’t agree that this book is good!? TIME TO ESCALATE THINGS TO RIDICULOUS LEVELS 😤😤😤 and also i’m tired of book influencers setting up this false dichotomy between victorian classics or modern pulpy romcoms while vastly ignoring the existence of classics written by people of colour and people from non first world countries
If you don't think that fanfic writers get attached to their commenters and repeat commenters... you're crazy.
There's people who comment on my stories, disappear for months at a time, then comment when they catch up and I almost always remember their tagnames. It means the WORLD to me as a writer to have people who comment both regularly and irregularly on my stories/oneshots/moodboards.
When you guys go away for a few weeks or months... we notice! We hope you're okay and just taking a break, and when you come back rested and excited to read more stories, we're so happy to have you back.
So yes, please comment on stories even if it's once in a blue moon. You're not annoying, you're not overbearing for multiple comments or being super excited. You're helping fuel a writer to keep writing just to see what you have to say next about the next chapter! You're doing the Lord's work with your comments!
Whether you leave a Russian novel in a comment, or just go "noice", like... it makes the writer brain go !!!!!!💞
