May I ask why you don't like the Great Lakes? :(
Because I was born on the west coast, near the Pacific Ocean, which is PERFECTLY REASONABLE, and we moved to Michigan, where my mom's family was from, when I was 11 and I lived there for almost 20 years, and the lakes are wrong and confusing and freak me out.
Also Lake Superior never gives up her dead, and I think that's freaky.
The ocean can and will murder the shit out of you, and like. That's fine! That's what oceans do. But I do not trust the Great Lakes, they seem like they are Up To Something.
