i keep seeing posts saying that youtube reactors skip byler parts in the new season and that’s made me think something.

not acknowledging the relationships in a show doesn’t make you cool it makes you look silly

i’m not saying ur required to like a ship or even ship anybody in a show, but if you actively go out of ur way to ignore the relationships in a show (ESPECIALLY THE QUEER ONES), ur not watching the whole show, ur only watching what you want to see.

relationships are so so crucial to the development of characters, why they do certain things in a show, and the personalities of characters. if you ignore these parts ur ignoring major aspects of the characters you claim to “love”.

in reference to byler, people skipping byler because they don’t like the ship, they’re homophobic, etc. just proves they never truly cared about mike or will. the relationship between mike and will is one of the most hearty and telling relationships in the entire show. they’ve known each other since kindergarten and have been best friends since. they’ve grown so much because of each other and ignoring how their relationship has caused them to develop as characters shows that the plot was never that important to you. you can dislike a ship all you’d like or have no feelings about it at all, but skipping their interactions is skipping parts of the plot.

so have fun stranger things reactors because ur missing vital plot points that will definitely matter later on in a show you supposedly LOVE.
