Stop, wait, no, this is so
It had been a while since Jiang Yuelou and Chen Yuzhi had properly gone out on a date…like had gotten all dressed up and everything because both men were busy with their jobs and anytime they tried they were always interrupted
But finally, finally Jiang Yuelou was able to have a night off and decided to book a reservation at a new restaurant that neither of them had tried before (and decided to get a private room because he didn’t everyone watching them while they were trying to enjoy their evening)
Just a little before their reservation, Jiang Yuelou went to pick up Chen Yuzhi from his clinic and was quiet happy when he saw Chen Yuzhi closing the clinic instead of still working
“Yuzhi”
Chen Yuzhi turned at his name and when he saw Jiang Yuelou, he smiled tiredly
“Yuelou”
Jiang Yuelou then walked over to him and took him by the arm, giving it a small tug
“Come on, we’re gonna be late”
Chen Yuzhi looked at him in surprise
“Late? Late for what?”
Jiang Yuelou smiled
“I made us a reservation at a nice restaurant…you know how long it’s been since we’ve had a proper date”
Chen Yuzhi’s eyes widened and he shook his head
“But I’m not dressed—”
“Yuzhi, you look fine. Now come on, we’ll be late for our reservation”
Chen Yuzhi sighed but allowed himself to be dragged along to the restaurant, the host quickly guiding them to the private room that Jiang Yuelou reserved, Chen Yuzhi’s eyes widening in shock
“A…private room?”
Jiang Yuelou nodded
“Mm”
Chen Yuzhi blinked but said nothing as he and Jiang Yuelou looked at the menu, nothing really standing out to him that he wanted to eat
“Do you know what you’re going to have?”
Chen Yuzhi shook his head
“No…I’m not…really hungry”
Jiang Yuelou frowned
“You’re not? How come?”
Chen Yuzhi shook his head
“I don’t know…I’m just not”
Jiang Yuelou frowned
“Well, it’s not good to not eat…so I’ll just order something and we can share, okay?”
Chen Yuzhi looked over at him before he smiled slightly
“Okay”
When the waiter came back, Jiang Yuelou ordered a meal to share and after the waiter had taken their orders, he left the room, leaving Jiang Yuelou and Chen Yuzhi alone
Once they were alone, Jiang Yuelou looked at Chen Yuzhi and frowned slightly
“Are you sure you’re okay? You’re not sick, are you?”
Chen Yuzhi looked back at him before he shook his head
“No, no, I’m not…it’s just been busier than usual at the clinic so I’m a little tired”
Jiang Yuelou hummed and nodded
“I understand…things have been busier at the station too…but I’m glad we were able to have this time, finally”
Chen Yuzhi nodded, smiling slightly
“I can’t remember the last time we came to a nice place like this”
Jiang Yuelou smiled and nodded, and soon both men were just peacefully talking, sort of unwinding from the stressful day
Soon their food came and the waiter placed it down before them before he left, Jiang Yuelou picking up his fork
“Come on, Yuzhi. You need to eat”
Chen Yuzhi nodded and picked up his fork, Jiang Yuelou allowing him to take the first bite before he took one himself
“Mm. It’s good”
Chen Yuzhi nodded in agreement
“It is”
They continued to eat their meal until at one point, neither man realized that they had picked up the same piece of pasta until they had chewed on the noodle so much that their faces were super close to each other
Chen Yuzhi’s eyes widened in shock, as did Jiang Yuelou’s, before Jiang Yuelou’s face softened and he leaned forward, kissing Chen Yuzhi softly on the lips
Chen Yuzhi’s eyes widened even further before he shut his eyes and sighed into the kiss; Jiang Yuelou secretly thanking himself that he 1) booked a private room that had a closed door and 2) that he had ordered the one dish for him and Chen Yuzhi to share
He then bit the noodle in half before he pulled away, Chen Yuzhi blushing deeply as he covered his mouth to finish chewing while Jiang Yuelou just smirked proudly
“You’re lucky the door was closed”
Jiang Yuelou chuckled, just as the waiter opened the door and poked his head inside
“Everything tasting okay?”
Jiang Yuelou and Chen Yuzhi looked over at him before Jiang Yuelou nodded
“Everything tastes perfect”
The waiter smiled and nodded as Jiang Yuelou looked over at Chen Yuzhi and winked, Chen Yuzhi blushing deeply again before he gently smacked his arm
“Stop it”
Jiang Yuelou laughed before he picked up his fork and motioned to the pasta
“Come on, Yuzhi, we still have more to eat”
Chen Yuzhi hummed and picked up his fork as well before they began to eat again
After dinner and as they were heading home, Chen Yuzhi leaned against Jiang Yuelou and hummed
“This was nice. Thank you”
Jiang Yuelou nodded as he leaned over and pressed a kiss to the side of his head
“We should do it again”
“I’d like that”
They continued to head home before Jiang Yuelou suddenly stopped, making Chen Yuzhi look at him in confusion
“Yuelou? What is it?”
Jiang Yuelou smiled
“You have something on your lips”
Chen Yuzhi blinked and reached up to touch his lips when Jiang Yuelou quickly grabbed his hand and swooped in, pressing a kiss to his lips again
Chen Yuzhi’s eyes widened in surprise and Jiang Yuelou couldn’t help but chuckle as he pulled away and licked his lips
“I think I got it”
Chen Yuzhi looked at him in shock before he huffed
“Shameless”
Jiang Yuelou grinned
“I’m your husband, Yuzhi. I’m allowed to be a little shameless”
Chen Yuzhi looked at him before he grabbed him by the tie and yanked him forward, pressing a kiss to his lips that time, Jiang Yuelou’s eyes widening in surprise as Chen Yuzhi pulled away and smirked
“Then so am I”
Jiang Yuelou blinked before he laughed delightedly and wrapped an arm around him, pulling him close as they began walking again
“Oh, I love you, Yuzhi”
Chen Yuzhi smiled softly
“I love you too, Yuelou”
