Part 1
===============================================
You were standing there together with Yuzuha, Hina and a couple of other women.
“Why am I even standing here?” Yuzuha asked, confused. “I don't even have a boyfriend.”
“Then go to the back and make a place for those who have a boyfriend”, Hina chuckled, knowing that Yuzuha would understand her comment as a joke.
“It's a tradition. As long as you're not married, you have to stand here with us. It doesn´t matter if you´ve got a boyfriend or not”, you added, clinging on to Yuzuhas arm in case she would leave.
Long story short, you weren't the one who caught the bridal bouquet. Pouting, you made your way back to the table where Taiju was sitting.
“I am too short for that stupid game”, stomping your foot on the ground like a child, playing the sulky one.
“Why did you participate when it is a stupid game?”, Taiju asked with a raised eyebrow.
“If I were the one who chatched the flowers, it wouldn´t be stupid.”
“Huh?” Taiju will never understand a woman's logic. “Do you want to marry me that bad?”
You tried to change the topic as quickly as possible, but your head was from one second to the other completely blank and your cheeks were more than red, which was enough of an answer for your boyfriend.
“Whatever”, making a fake cough, “I'll get us some drinks from the bar.”
You turned on your heels to avoid this awkward conversation.
While you ordered two drinks for Taiju and you, the guests, that nobody wants to talk to, approached you - the ‘embarrassing aunts’. You suppressed a sigh, when the three ladies came closer to you, already knowing that this conversation will be filled with unappropriated questions.
“You are Y/N, aren't you? A friend of my niece Yumi, right?”, she said excessively affordable.
“Oh, you were the one who danced with Mitsuya-kun earlier”, the second woman interfered. “You two looked so good together”, earning an approving nod from the other two ladies.
“I can't see any ring on your finger. Aren't you guys married yet?”
You raised your eyebrows. “Huh? Mitsuya-kun? No, I-....” Before you were able to explain yourself, you were interrupted again.
“It's such a shame. You´re the same age as Mitsuya-kun, aren't you? You two must have been dating each other for so long and he never asked for your hand?”
This conversation didn't make any sense in your head.
“Um….I´m not Mitsuya-kuns girlfriend. That´s a misunderstanding. We know each other and we danced together, but only because he is a friend of Hakkai and…”
“So, you´re Hakkais girlfriend? It's not surprising that he has such a cute girlfriend. I heard that he is a famous model overseas”, the third aunt intervened.
Normally you are a patient person, but the next time someone is going to interrupt you, your nerves are going to snatch.
“No, I´m not Hakkais girlfriend either. I´m in a relationship with his older brother”, pointing in Taijus direction. “Taiju.”
Six eyes were following the direction and in six eyes you could see disappointment.
“Really?”, the first one gave you a compassionate look. “Oh honey, you could do so much better. Isn´t Mitsuya-kun your type? You looked like a dream couple on the dance floor. I can ask him for a date for you, if you want me to.”
That's it. That was enough. You took a deep breath to stay calm, but innerly you exploded.
“Listen! I´m happy with my boyfriend of almost ten years. I don't need to look for another guy.”
“And there's no ring?”, the third one interrupted again.
“That's none of your business!”, raising your voice a bit to make your point clear.
Who do they think they are? Did someone pay them to ask those questions?
“He doesn't have to put a ring on my finger to make me happy. We´re completely fine. Oh, and before you ask more stupid questions, there aren´t any kids planned in the near future. If it happens, okay. If it doesn't happen, I´m fine with that too. Moreover…”
You stopped your monologue when you noticed Taiju standing next to you.
“Oh, hey babe.”
“Is something wrong?”
He had observed you for a bit and was here for your rescue, noticing your discomfort from afar.
“No….no, everything's fine.”
You wanted to end this stupid conversation and took a sip out of one of the glasses, checking too late that it was Taijus glass you drinked from, his whiskey instead of your water. Coughing immediately when you felt the burning sensation in your throat, your eyes getting wet.
“Tastes like shit” was the only thing you could say between the coughs.
Taiju looked at you worried, patting your back.
“Yeah, everything's fine. I can see that”, giving you the glass with the water. “Here.”
After you drank a big gulp of it, you finally came down.
“Yes, everything's fine”, wiping away your tears.
His eyes were still fixated on you, not believing you for the moment, but he sighed when you seemed to be okay.
“Do you want to give me another dance, love?”, holding out his hand for you.
“Of course, baby”, accepting his offer and dragging him on the dance floor again.
You forgot the stupid conversation with the aunts while you danced with him, your hands around his neck, his hands on your hips, to a slow song.
Taiju was proud of himself for rescuing you out of that conversation.
