it's because people trigger from a range of things, so i try to tw anything that i think could possibly trigger someone.

I might be remembering this wrong, but I think traumas are linked to brain architecture- ie, once a trigger is developed, it’s “engrained” in the grooves and folds of a brain. This is why therapy is a very long and multifaceted process- it’s literally remapping the brain.

That being said, I’d assume that a Ghost would resurrect a Guardian as closely to their pre-death self as possible. It’s implied- since a Ghost cannot resurrect ashes without stored bio-data- that a Ghost scans the corpse for any signs of DNA and basically clones/reconstructs the Guardian on top of their bones.

It’s unknown how much of the original corpse is preserved, so theoretically, the new Ghost-built body might not have the same memories or brain differences as the original.

This would also explain why Crow doesn’t have Uldren’s memories, but does have his triggers- Glint resurrected a very fresh corpse, so some parts of the brain were still unwithered.

do you think Guardians would carry over traumas from their first life? like... is it possible for the memories to be gone but the reaction to stay? if a Guardian, in their first life, had, let's say, trauma regarding an abusive parent, and slamming doors were one of their triggers - when they come back as a Guardian, if someone slams a door - do they still have that response? does their heart kick up wildly and they flinch and there's a feeling of danger danger danger but they have no idea why? or does the fact that the memory is gone erase that trauma, because the trauma response comes from bad memories associated with that trigger? but i feel like a big aspect of the rebirth is that memories go but feelings stay - look at Cayde and Ace and his queen. look at Ana with Rasputin. is trauma the same? or does the science of the brain's way of looking for patterns to protect itself get canceled out by the magic of the Light?
