Twd Finale - Tumblr Posts

The TWD season 8 finale was just kind of meh, for me.  There were parts that I enjoyed.  I liked that Eugene redeemed himself, I liked the interaction between Morgan and Rick, I liked the flashback scenes with baby Carl, but I wasn’t really impressed with the rest of it.  Two and a half years they have been building up Negan, the Saviors and All Out War and the ending was just anti-climatic.  

I was really happy for like two seconds when I thought Rick had slit Negan’s throat, but then he tells Saddiq to save him.  This wasn’t Rick’s unilateral decision to make.  The battle was over, everyone was there, including people that were once suppressed under Negan.  Why couldn’t he have asked people what they wanted?  Why couldn’t they have had a vote?  The war was over, Negan wasn’t going to get away.  It was almost like Rick returned to Rickator mode for a second, but it was a weird, warped benevolent Rickator.
