First decide whether you wanna do a smaller fandom/oc based blog, or something more large scale thatll probably get you roped in with other gimmick blogs (like a corporation blog)
Theres multiple routes you can go with it. I know theres the punctuationverse (has a bunch of its own lore within itself, so research that before joining if you plan on getting into lore stuff), painterverse (examples are like the painting posts purple blog, which is one of the blogs that started it), slenderverse (theres so many), corpoationverse (which includes websites and apps), and a bunch of others
And then you can also just do a rp/ask blog combo like we did! Our gimmick blog is both technically an scp rp blog but also involved with the greater gimmickverse as someone that travels the tumblrverse/multiverse
If you do one like we did and it happens to be vaguely scp themed, theres an ikea blog were planning on bothering (/silly) a lot (totally-ikea). We also annoy the 05-council-unofficial blog lmao
