Draconia Fam HC: where their wings went

The Draconia Family's real form is said to be that of a dragon (Malleus commenting that it is his true form and him being hatched as an egg AND being a baby dragon) the human version is idk more of an afterthought. That being said, the members (or what we've seen so far) of the Draconia family do like to show (dare I say flaunt) these features, with Malleus and his horns and Mallenoa (Mallenor??) with her thick booty tail:

Anyways that begs the question... why don't they (esp mama draconia i'll get to that soon) also show off thier magnificent wings? Now you can argue that "o h, it would be inconvenient since everything is human sized" nay I say, nay. This argument does make sense with Malleus since he is attending a school and there are many scenarios wherein a tail could cause hazards, so that I will give him a pass for hiding his glorious tail...However, Mama Draconia has no excuse, she's way past that high school nonsense and look at her, she's stupendous and should flaunt her magnificent wings..yet she doesn't, that's where my hc comes in

I hc that the backstory of Maleficent featured in the live action story (because the trad villains are shown to be more sympathetic in this game) is real and is part of fae history.

To give ygs a summary to catch up Maleficent falls in love w a human and gets her wings chopped off cuz he a greedy ass hole. Now I then hc that since this story is shown to vilify humans and make Maleficent the subject of tragedy, the future generations choose not to show their wings in public as a sign of respect for their gramama.

It's supposed to be a statement of "I will show you child of men that I alone have the power to do what I want with my body. This will prove that though you may try to take away my dignity, I am in control and still as strong as ever. You will never strip me of my right and will to thrive with the rest of the living creatures of this planet" to the humans.

Summary: The Dragon Fae did not pout and wail at their Mistress being disrespected, they held their chin up high. They are reclaiming the act of terrorism done on their queen and using it as self expression (and also as a sign of respect to the Thorn Fairy) to show their strength in spite of all their years of oppression.

But for Malleus the excuse of those wings would get caught in doorways is also lol valid

Am I looking too deep into this? Yes. Definitely.

I hc that artist!Yuu loves to paint beautiful subjects for her portraits (Malleus)

When she and Mal finally become an old married couple she decides to paint a l l of his royal portraits she doesn’t want any old painter taking up hours of her husbands time

In fact when the day does come she painted a portrait of her family (malleus getting a little upset when she not in it lmao)

Years and years pass and slowly her human life fades and all that’s left is her portraits. Malleus pouting that his precious wife is not in their family paintings, however their children point out that their mother’s memory continues to live. She lives through the memory of her art and the beautiful faces of her smiling family.

Why I like TWST - pt1 (rant)

Slight spoilers for book 7

Twst is the best otome not otome games I’ve played for far and while I haven’t played all in existence, I played a decent amount of them

It solely lies in the fact that while it may be baity at times (Malleus I’m looking at you) it doesn’t need to rely on romance and cheap gags to keep the player (who is probably there for that exact reason) engaged…since it was marketed at just that.

There’s nothing wrong with the game, in fact if you like it go for it. The problem is the game can sometimes get too wrapped up in the fact that it must have pretty men (I’m only speaking for the “fem directed otomes” because those are the ones I’ve played) that it looses the little boldness/any at all that dares to break the norm of what is beautiful or acceptable to make for an interesting game/story.

I’m gonna shit on obeys me’s later writing because as I’ve said before in this post, it has so much potential. But it abandons all else for cheap scenarios where the demons don’t even act like demons.

Anyways maybe that’s just my criticism with obey me or ygs could relate to another otome that the devs ruined for the sake of random fluff.

I like TWST so much because in its essence it’s exactly the opposite of what I described—not an otome. It doesn’t give a shit if the player (or simp, jk) gets butthurt if it’s set up in the narrative for this certain character not to be entirely head over heels for the MC.

Sure the plot isn’t perfect (I’m looking at u book 4) but think of it this way.. most players who are at least up to date use their knowledge of the canon plot to weave the story into their fanart/fanfiction. The plot is integral for the viewer to actually be invested and it is interesting and relevant enough that people actually use it when enjoying the game.

I’m gonna bet you the average player doesn’t know what’s going on in OM! past ch 50. Or maybe you do but I haven’t seen a lot of posts referencing anything plot wise past 20. (Except for the new characters) it’s because it’s simply not interesting enough to be pain attention to. (Maybe I’m being too harsh but this is my experience)

Criticism

I think one of my only criticisms about TWST is about the MC (in game) I like the direction they go in the manga but in game they’re kinda meh. Now I know they do fulfill their purpose and TWST isn’t that kinda game (you need to insert yourself) but I feel that giving the MC a personality or at least a backstory (ish) would be better since that is what they did in the manga

Idk self insert MCs can be fun (don’t get me wrong I love em) but personally I feel that the MC should be given an explanation as to why they are like that. Why are they a beast tamer?, what do they feel in being in a school with otherworldly subjects?, how do they cope with living in a Rickety environment? What are some clues about their backstory /what they remember before coming to TWST that could aid in buildup for when ortho (bless his soul) finds a possible answer to how we ended up here?

Also this is my oc/what I believe to be interesting but I found it interesting as to what living as a girl in a school full of boys can affect the MC. I don’t believe this part should be implemented in the main thing because there are a bunch of wonderful male MCs, but it is something I would want to explore.

Pt1 An interesting concept

I’ve always been curious about the direction that TWST could go in regards to MC being a girl.

One of my favorite examples of this being this fic by DuckInSuits on Ao3

Now this inspired me to watch Mulan because it is one of the most famous “girl disguised as boy” story (other than OHSHC) that I know of.

Since literally almost everyone is twisted off someone (idk who Jack is tho) +the Disney references that make me cringe sometimes just because I know the existence of Disney, why not make the MC also twisted off something?

(lol Grim as Mushu tho imagine)

I just feel like the in canon MC does seem like the type of person to kind of work hard with what ingenuity they have since they live in a worn down building and pass classes they have zero prior knowledge on.

And they do kinda use their brains to figure out shit, especially with the overblots !!

Idk i just think it would be an interesting dynamic to work through

None of that liar arc tho, that usually stretches on too long but like… yk

I really enjoyed the fic because it made us connect with Cater (and I believe Ruggie?) in ways the normal canon didn’t explore. It made me empathize with them and actually be invested in their relationship with the MC. And I like how it shows just slice of life stuff like MC making pancakes in Ramshackle dorm/needing feminine pads.

Moments like these really give us a moment to stop and breathe to notice the story’s surroundings while making it believable and lived in. It balances out action and pure dipshitness.

Pt2 “Also I really like Mulans songs”

Honor to us all + Reflection

in regards to this while listening to Honor to us All, it actually made me think of a believable motivation for my said OC, she ran away because she didn’t want to get married, and didn’t want to pretend to be someone else just for her parents (and by extension society) to accept her

Now I know this motivation is more selfish than not wanting your elderly father to fight in a war but remember TWST characters ≠ their twisted counterparts. (Ex. Rollo is less pure evil than Frollo). And I think this could be an interesting motivation since her journey going to TWST could make the MC realize her actions and make her decide whether she did was right or wrong (=character development)

A Girl Worth Fighting For

You cannot make me believe every single man in an all boys school is 100% feminism core.

I think that’s where a girl worth fighting for could come in. (Deuce not included he is a feminist) but the 1st year friend group being a lil (while unknowingly) sexist in regards to how they see a female romantic interest, then later drinking respect women juice after realizing the strongest (they fought 6 overblots stfu yes they are) one in their fg is in fact a woman (and later apologizing to her lol)

It’s self explanatory based on what I said earlier but I’m not sure who could be Shang in this song 😭😭. Personality based it’s either Vil or Riddle, Physically it’s Leona (he would not give a shit other wise), unless it’s for spelldrive)

Summary: Overall this is more of a Yuu not based on having a love interest, but as a character based on an icon (✨).

This has just been on my mind for a bit about an AU that I do not have the skills to write about l…but it’s for all you girlies who prefer pants over skirts and generally dont like to be categorized as feminine 🔥
