Riddle Rosehearts x Gn!Reader
I went with the romantic dinner idea! So sorry this was done late, I felt a little sick yesterday t-t
"IS EVERYTHING READY for (y/n)’s arrival?” Riddle inquired as he stood by the entrance of the tea garden. Cater was sitting on top of a ladder, touching up on the decorations, while Ace and Deuce made sure that the white tablecloth was spotless and that the correct eating utensils have been laid out on the table.
"Yep~! I can assure you that the decorations look totally aesthetic!" Cater replied, quickly snapping a selfie to digitally preserve his hard work.
"We're almost done with the table," Ace added, dusting his hands with a quiet sigh, "Deuce! Light the candles, and then I'll spread the rose petals." Nodding, Deuce did as he was told by casting a minor fire spell to strike the wick with his magic pen. Grabbing a handful of rose petals from the straw basket laid on the grass, Ace proceeded to shower the table with petals, completing the romantic setting that Riddle had planned out earlier. The red-haired dorm leader folded his arms over his chest, humming in approval.
"Wonderful. All that's left is for me to check if Trey is finished-"
"Yep, the food is ready to be served at any time. Honey garlic glazed salmon for the main course, and apple walnut tarts and Earl Grey tea for dessert," Trey interjected, appearing behind Riddle whilst adjusting his glasses' position with a smile, "You just focus on making this the best Valentine's night for the prefect, okay?" The vice dorm leader proceeded to fuss over Riddle's appearance, fixing his gold-coloured cravat that was a little out of place, checking that his red tailcoat was free of any creases, as well as securing his rose pin on the front left lapel. After tucking his left bangs behind his ear, Trey took a step back from him and proudly put his hands on his hips.
"Don't forget the roses!" Cater exclaimed, pushing a bouquet of said flowers into Riddle's arms, "I texted them to come to Heartslabyul in their best outfit an hour ago. They should be here soon~" Turning to the ADeuce combo, he then waved his magic pen at them, magically changing their clothes into matching butler outfits. "And our two butlers are prepared to serve the host and his guest tonight. Alright! Now that everything is ready, we'll head back to the dorm."
"Good luck, dorm leader Rosehearts!" Deuce said, smiling encouragingly, "I promise that I won't mess anything up while serving the food!"
"Don't let this romantic dinner date flop~" Ace teased, causing his dorm leader's left eyebrow to twitch in annoyance. Trey yanked him away in the speed of light to prevent the first-year from saying anything else that might trigger Riddle's wrath right before an important event.
As soon as the group disappeared from the area, Riddle heard you call his name behind him, prompting him to turn around. Eyes going wide, he saw you dressed in your finest attire for the surprise dinner he had set up for you tonight in Heartslabyul's tea garden.
"Wow, you're dressed very formally," you commented, your eyebrows shooting up in surprise, "Is there a special occasion? Cater even told me to dress up without telling me why..."
"You look stunning, (y/n)," he uttered, unable to tear his gaze away from your form.
You blinked as your cheeks became warm at his unexpected compliment. "O-oh, thanks-" In a poor attempt to change the topic, you inclined your head towards the rose bouquet in his arms. "What's that for?"
As he quickly remembered why you had been invited here, he wordlessly approached you and then held the bouquet out to you. "These roses are for you. You told me a week ago that it'll be Valentine's Day today and that you've never celebrated it with anyone back in your world." He paused, observing the surprise in your expression. "Since you've done so much for Heartslabyul, I wanted to take this chance to repay you and... to deliver my feelings for you."
You had to take a moment to let Riddle's words sink in. Once you've gathered your wits, you shyly accepted the flowers from him and cast your gaze to the grass below, suddenly finding them more interesting than the red-haired dorm leader standing in front of you.
"Th-thank you, Riddle. I really don't know what to say..." you murmured, only to feel his slim fingers slide under your chin to tilt your face up, coaxing you to meet his earnest eyes.
All the scenario practice he did with the Heartslabyul gang finally paid off.
"Follow me. I've prepared something for you, and I hope you'll like it," he said, his other hand reaching out to clasp one of yours. As your fingers interlocked, he led you inside the tea garden and beckoned you to sit down by the table. He then took a seat across from you, and on cue, butlers Ace and Deuce came strolling in with the plates of food Trey had whipped up for this occasion.
Once again, you were surprised; you didn't think Riddle had it in him to plan a romantic dinner.
"You don't have to give me an answer right now," Riddle softly began, "but if you are willing to let me make you the happiest person in Twisted Wonderland today, nothing else would bring me greater joy."
