“Naruto!” he spun around upon hearing his name. He looked in confusion as he saw Sasuke running towards him.

“What is it, Sasuke?” he asked, throwing him a questioning glance.

“It’s Hinata,” Sasuke panted. “She’s – she’s…”

“She’s what, Sasuke? What’s wrong with Hinata?” he asked, trying to remain calm, but failing when he ended up yelling.

“Tsunade said she couldn’t get a hold of you – Hinata’s water broke,” he said, looking Naruto in the eye.

“Wh-what? That’s not possible – she isn’t due for another – another week!” Naruto stuttered.

“Well, it’s happening. And I need to get you to the hospital before Tsunade kills the both of us,” Sasuke muttered the last part, pulling Naruto into his car. They drove in silence, Naruto fidgeting in his seat. “Will you stop fidgeting? Nothing bad is going to happen, Naruto,” Sasuke snapped. It was like he read Naruto’s mind and the ‘what if’s’ that were playing over and over in his mind.

When they got to the hospital after what felt like hours to Naruto, they both rushed to the birthing ward. Naruto asked for Hinata and they showed him her room. She was red in the face and breathing heavily. Sasuke nudged him into the room as he stood in the doorway.

“Well, it’s about time, Naruto,” Tsunade tutted, shaking her head.

“Sorry, sorry,” he murmured, walking over to Hinata and taking her hand. “How are you feeling?” he asked her, his cheeks turning red slightly.

“Better now that you’re here,” she muttered before letting out a strained groan.

“Hinata, you did so well,” Naruto was holding her hand, kissing her forehead, making her smile. She looked up at him with a small grin.

“Naruto, Hinata, you’ve got a baby girl,” Tsunade mumbled, passing the girl over to Hinata.

Naruto was flustered as he looked at his little girl. He started blushing for no reason. “She’s beautiful,” he mumbled. “I – I need to go tell Sasuke,” he said, and Hinata nodded, cooing at their child.

“Sasuke,” he called out and he ran to his best friend. “It’s a girl! A baby girl. Although, it’s meant to be a boy, but it’s a girl!” he laughed, flustered, rambling words to his best friend.

“Naruto,” Sasuke chuckled, placing a hand on his shoulder. “I’m happy for you,” he said. “Now, get back in there to your wife and new baby girl.”
