The Barbie movies: Rapunzel and Magic of Pegasus are connected.

Where does the brush's magic come from?

The magic of that hairbrush, which occasionally turns into a paintbrush, had an engraving written on it, "constant as the stars above, always know that you are loved" and during the night, before Rapunzel goes to sleep, she repeats the text and then says in a tone of desire and affirmation "i will be free", a star shone and then her hairbrush turned into a paintbrush. This star could be the Wand of Light, that at the end of Magic of Pegasus, the Cloud Queen kept the Wand of Light in the sky, like a star, this star appears in the film within a constellation, the Crux which is a constellation present in the Wand of Light, which was made with Brietta's crown that also had the symbol of this same constelation.

We know the Wand of Light works magic by fulfilling pure and true wishes, and when Rapunzel said she would be free, the hairbrush turned into the paint brush so Rapunzel could leave the tower painting a path.

How did Rapunzel get her request granted?

That the brush was built by the brother of the blacksmith we see in the movie, it was probably made by someone from Aidan's family. But why the brush are magic? Probably Rapunzel is related to Annika, could be her granddaughter, making her parents, her mother or father Annika's children or nephews, and knowing about the existence of Cloud Kingdom, asked for the blessing of Cloud Queen for Rapunzel. About their kinship, Rapunzel is German while Annika is Dutch, and these two countries are neighbors, not to mention that the name of Cloud Queen, aka Rayla, has German origin, implying that the Cloud Kingdom stay in the sky of germany.
