Gravity – although invisible to the naked eye – was ceaseless just the same, constantly dragging you down. It was the never-ending weight on your shoulders, the relentless trudge of your feet, pulling you down towards a center of nothingness. Under its influence, you had become accustomed to the notion that you should live your life with feet firmly planted on the ground, not dreaming or wanting anything more. As long as gravity were to exist, you weren’t capable of simply flying away from reality. In fact, the life your father had carefully constructed for you was void of all hope, leaving no room for fantasy of any kind. Though you desperately craved it and would have given up anything for an escape, you were grounded. Gravity was forever holding you down.
Nevertheless, gravity was also the force responsible for making you fall.
