today i learned twitter artists are posting their own art but captioning it as if they're reposting someone else's work, bc it gives them waaay more engagement. and its worked every time. the state of social media is truly so over ðŸ˜

I think it also creates a subconscious feeling of peer-review
like you can post your own stuff and say ‘hey this is really good’
but for someone who didn’t make that stuff and has no skin in the game to say ‘can confirm
this slaps
encourages people to actually give it a chance
it’s like having a rotten tomatoes score
and yes that is completely bullshit and unfair
it’s also human nature
if you haven’t noticed
humans are stupid by default and have to intentionally avoid being stupid in order to do the right/better thing
which lets be real
