hey op just wanted to say this is actually the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life
fuck you *makes artfight a drum and bugle corps competition instead*
(yes i am working on seafoam uniforms as well)
I don't know about the rest of you guys but I'm CONSTANTLY thinking about the ballad from Sinnerman. I love the Mandarins so much.
You know it’s a good show when the entire drum corps makes a huge line and marches super slowly
I just. They really did deserve it in 2018. They fucking EARNED it with this single minute of the show.
I JUST. THE AUDIBLE FUCKING *CLICK* OF THE ENTIRE BRASS LINE’S UNISON TURN-SET. AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
And the tension and build up of the beautiful melodic rise-and-fall of the solo/duet section(with my favorite instrument no less)to the anticipation from seeing the brass line up near the sideline and you know what’s coming.
Then the brass comes in before the beat with that absolutely GORGEOUS high brass sound that sends shivers down my spine and gives me goosebumps, then it only intensifies on the beat when they crescendo and land heavy on the down beat and the melody and harmony start moving
And of course I can’t neglect to mention the INCREDIBLY talented trumpet who holds that high note with insane volume and perfect intonation for longer than it seems possible
They deserved a 95+ score for this minute alone imo it’s some of the most intense and excellent performance I’ve ever seen.
