Yaereene: Mama yelled at me again today.

Nuvian: Oh . . . as it about forging again?

Yaereene: Yeah. She wanted Hastios to teach me how to fix a rotten ingot. I didn't want to and told her I wanted to watch the guards fight. She kicked me out after calling me a . . . useless excuse of a daughter. I don't understand her, she's so supportive of you and Hastios. Why can't she be the same with me?

Nuvian: I'm supportive of you.

Yaereene: (smiles) I know you are. I don't want to be a Romenor. I don't want to go to fancy balls and be all high-brow and desperate for donations. I want to go out in the world, help people. How can I do that if I'm stuck behind a forge? How do YOU want that?

Nuvian: . . . I want to go into this business, Yaereene.

Yaereene: Why? Don't you want to change the world? Make something of yourself that isn't under someone else's name?

Nuvian: I guess it runs in the family. I'm not saying you should follow Mama, but I think it would be best. Just until you can decide what you want IS what you want.

Yaereene: I guess I'll be the first Romenor to do what I really want then.
