Second Part To The Faithless Worship Drabble

"How insolent—!" You can hear the Raiden Shogun hiss under her breath, violet eyes glaring at you.

Once, before your beloved God had "pulled" for you and dragged you into this team against your will, you would have flinched away from the fury of any Archon. Now, however, all you do is glare back at her, baring a vicious grin when you can hear his Lordship's swear at you not "critting", whatever that fucking meant.

All you knew was that he hated it when you did not put in your very absolute best effort. And of course, whatever he hated, so did his acolytes. Only difference was that where he loved you oh so much, his acolytes hated your very guts.

And why wouldn’t they? By now, everyone knew that you had tried— and failed— to escape his summoning ritual. Only reason why you were still living and breathing was that his Lordship Ajax clearly favored you more than the rest. Oh, how you were hated and scorned, yet there was nothing they could do to you, not without incurring his Lordship's wrath.

"(Name)." You can almost feel the earth rumble from Zhongli's displeased calling of your name, yet you don't care. Ajax is gone, for now, and you do not wish to stay here with them any longer.

With your weapon and the ashes of the enemy scattering away, you turn your back to the rest of the team. You don't know where you'll go, but as long as you stay away from them—

A Geo pillar shoots up before you, blocking your way.

"We are going to talk, (Name)." Venti's voice is light and airy, but you know better than to believe this little facade of his. You were right there as his Anemo sliced through those enemies like they wereless than paper, after all. You do not wish the same fate for youself.

Sighing, you look back at them. They, too, have put their weapons aside. You cross your arms, waiting. "Well? Let's get this over with already."

"Your attitude has gone beyond what is acceptable," Zhongli glares at you again, irises glowing in the darkness of the Chasm. "For how much longer will you continue to deny Him His right?—"

You sputter, an angry flush rising to your cheeks. "His right!? He has no right to control me! I did not want to be here under his sick control and I still don't," you hiss through your teeth. "I had a life before this— whatever the fuck this is! And now—"

"It does not matter." Venti cuts through with an easy smile, yet it doesn't meet his eyes. You can feel your heart rate pick up, the realization and remembrance of who exactly you're surrounded by. "(Name), you do realize it's your own fault you're so miserable, right?"

You rear back, mouth falling open. "Excuse me!?—"

"You're the only person who refuses to worship him, the only one who hates being his chosen vessel. Have you never considered that perhaps the problem is you? You seem to have a problem with the divine, and not him being as evil as you make him out to be~"

No.

No, it's not your fault. You don't truly know why others are so happy to be controlled by him but you are not. It's not your fault, do your feelings not matter? It's your freedom you're being robbed off, he should be on your side—

Zhongli and the Shogun are still glaring, though the gleam in their eyes scares you cold. "You better not continue to act like this, (Name), especially not in the coming future."

You are shaking, your mind whirling still with what Venti had— had blamed you but you are not deaf to what they just said.

"What do you mean—"

But His Lordship has returned.

You can feel it, how your body is no longer yours. The eyes, watching and looking into every crevice of your body and soul. And then his voice, that note of longing and adoration clear as ever.

"Oh, did I leave you for too long, darling?" He talks to you as though you can answer— it feels more like a mockery than anything else, since you really can't speak when he's using you as the main vessel save for a few lines. "Now, where were we? We'll try a new setup, I still don't understand why you won't crit… you literally ascend with crit rate…"

Days and weeks pass, his Lordship changes the team many times yet you always remain there for him to use and admire. And still, you never learn what the Archons had meant.

Until you do.

You were merely talking a walk around the outskirts of Dawn Winery, having taken refuge from the hateful gazes often pointed at you by people. So of course, you are more than a little aware of the sudden shaking of the ground, and a beam of light shooting up from Dragonspine.

You contemplate checking out what had just happened for only a single moment— but no doubt, others would already be making their way up there.

…You'd probably be unwelcomed, just as you are everywhere, even that damned teapot.

So you stay where you are. Curiosity burns at you, but you eventually find other things to busy yourself with.

This goes on for a few hours, at least. It's nearly night and you are making your way to Mondstadt's bridge, whistling to yourself. Ah, what a nice day it had been. Sure, you could do without being stared at with so much hatred and all the gossip about you, but at least today his Lordship had not used you.

Ha, hopefully he won't come back ever again—

"(Name)!"

No. No, no, nononono.

That voice.

You turn around and—

It's his Lordship. In his full glory, wearing clothes you swear you had seen Albedo carry just a few days ago, running straight towards you. Behind him, you can see the Archons, glaring at you and practically daring you to run.

But you won't.

You are frozen in your place, eyes wide and frightened and confused.

How. How. How.

He stops in front of you, arms coming to wrap around you in a caging embrace. "Oh, you are as stunning as I thought you'd be, my love,"

"I'm not your anything—" you sputter, but it's weak and you can feel Electro buzzing in the air.

"You weren't there when I woke up here, comrade," he's frowning, dead half-lidded eyes peering down at you. Though the frown is gone in the next second, and he is back to caressing your face, your hair. "But that's alright. The teapot has your furniture set, right? We can go there now, my love. I've wanted to meet you for so long… I'm never taking my eyes off you now~"
