I feel like Gaius slowly got used to the way things changed from magic being free to being a death sentence but what if he got Amnesia and the last thing he remembered was Ygraine being pregnant and the kingdom being free and excited for the birth of the new royal heir??

Yes!! Merlin and Gaius are in the back watching Ygraine's ghost beat the shit out of Uther with a floating frying pan and they're whispering to each other like: "Should be perform a spell to send her back to the afterlife or something?" "Nah, she'll go back on her own eventually. Let's just enjoy this while it lasts."

And then they sit back and eat some popcorn while watching Ygraine put Uther on blast for his hypocrisy and lies and killing her brother AND abusing her son for his entire childhood. Merlin's having the time of his life. Arthur's healing emotionally for the first time in his life. Half the castle is wondering if they can dethrone Uther in favor of a ghost queen. It's glorious!

Fic idea:

After Morgause's ritual that allows Arthur to talk to his mother, the veil between her and the living world has weakened. Ygraine's spirit is able to pass through and she starts haunting the shit out of Uther in revenge for what he did to her and his treatment of Arthur since then. She also uses some of her time to spend with Arthur cause he did not get enough time with her!
