Hi! (Massive fan of your au and I’m always so excited when you post! I hope you’re having an amazing day a)

I was just wondering, is the AU set at a specific point in relation to the main cannon, idw and games etc.

Hiya! Firstly thank you so, so much for your support, it means so much to me! ✨And to answer your question, it is! In relation to IDW it’s a little hazy (especially as the comics are constantly evolving and it depends what different ways events may have taken place in the AU).

But what I know for certain is that the AU’s main story takes place before Sonic Frontiers!

[For a very specific reason which when the game came out fit so perfectly that I couldn’t resist!]

In the AU while things of course don’t end for him without consequence, unlike Gothel, Eggman doesn’t die. I love the idea that in the context of the AU, Eggman’s bitterness but also regret in losing Miles/Tails (who deep down he did grow to care for slightly even if he wouldn’t admit it) is part of what lead to his creation and growing parental feelings towards Sage. He lost one child and tried to fill that void with another. He misses being a father figure and having someone he could rely on and tutor. Ultimately he can’t help but be reminded of Miles and that’s what makes the loss of Sage sting even harder whilst also making him even more determined to find a way to bring her back.
