Hey, You... You With The Self Doubt...
Hey, you... You with the self doubt...
What if the colours in your eyes were specifically picked by an artist?
What if our stretch marks are paintbrush strokes left over from when we were painted into being?
What if our faces were individually sculpted exactly as they were meant to be?
What if the freckles, spots and patches of colour were paint splashes from other's artistry? Where my skin has darker freckles, they're paint flicks from someone else...
Where our voices are music and our smiles are contagious, snippets of joy placed into each and every one of us
What if the wrinkles around our eyes symbolise a life well loved...
What if the pattern of scars that litter some people's skin tell a story of beauty, healing and survival?
What if we're all art?
What if we treated one another as art?

ND culture is being an “old soul” as a child and “immature” as an adult

"You're making autism your whole personality but you shouldn't, you're not your autism !"
Listen. When I was diagnosed I found out EVERYTHING I thought was my "personality" were actually autistic traits and it messed me up so bad because I didn't know who I was anymore. Literally EVERY. SINGLE. Thing I ever did or thought was actually autism. Then I realized hey, if all of my personality is "just autism", that means all of neurotypicals' personalities are also "just neurotypicality". Actually I can even observe it now that I know all of the traits and it's very obvious ! But neurotypicals are considered the norm, so they don't have to analyze it so they don't know.
My autism is my whole personality the same way your neurotypicality is your whole personality, you just never had to acknowledge it unlike me

having a ponder about being aromantic and the kinds of friendships or qprs I might want to have

..so.. hi frends!!
❗CRIPPLE TIPS❗
✨ Able bodied friends edition ✨
If you are in a group that includes anybody who is using a mobility aid, if you are out and about and a Stairs Situation arises, either ask them which they'd prefer, or opt for the elevator (given your group is small enough. If not, have a couple friends use the elevator with your disabled friend, after asking if this is what they prefer (they may enjoy a moment alone, everybody is an individual with their own preferences). This means they don't lose the emotional "high" of being part of a group, conversation can continue so they won't suddenly feel lonely and excluded on the solo elevator ride, which can creep in and ruin their mood especially if they're new to their disability, and there's less of a chance of confusion once you're at your destination. Nobody likes being lost, but the inherent exhaustion and physical exertion that comes with using and mobility aid is incredibly... Unfun. And distressing! This can be easily avoided and you have the chance to be an Excellent friend! We notice these things!
