les mis on the west end: a commentary

so i saw les mis last night (!!!) with djavan van de fliert and tom hext as enjolras and grantaire (!!!) and here are some moments i scribbled into my notes app in the interval and after the show

in the runaway cart javert squeezed valjean's bicep on the line 'to be as strong as you are'

tom hext played the blind man in master of the house and thénardier sat on his lap and tom/the blind man felt him up then got a hard on 😭😭😭

grantaire has his bottle taken off him in abc café and immediately produces two more from under the table

grantaire slapped enjolras' arse.

following 'lamarque is dead' enjolras picked gavroche up and spun him round

right before 'she is the first to fall' after éponine dies enjolras starts on javert. like he steps forward and jolts himself if you know what i mean to scare him

during the first attack grantaire shouts something (unintelligible) whilst laughing (very drunk) and everyone goes mental at him for not taking it seriously

the audience laughs at the beginning of grantaire's part in drink with me because tom hext does it really jokingly at first then everyone quickly shuts the fuck up

enjolras reaches out to grantaire and he waves him away then gavroche runs and hugs him from behind

during the final battle when marius falls enjolras and grantaire hug over his body then there was a head touch

overall grantaire looked constantly despairing throughout over what was going to happen and enjolras looked impossibly fond of him rather than frustrated and i love them both.
