David x Insecure Fem! Reader

David stared into your eyes as your glassy irises looked back at him. Your sclera red from the stinging tears of bitter reflections. How little words and sharp insulting thoughts cut at your self esteem, one etch at a time. Not a single one David would say or think. No bigger words he’d sling at you. Things he wouldn’t even have imagined you thinking of yourself as— until one day.

One day where he decided to listen to your thoughts. From far off in the cave. To the tiny ones that grew louder as you stared more at yourself in the mirror. The reflection. The ones, the words, that brought horror to his eyes and a pain to his soul. Knowing that you, his mate, that he held up so dearly…hated herself?! Blasphemy in his eyes. He wanted you to look up to him as a god. The god you’d be on your knees for yet, hearing you sound like this crushed him. His ego and all, shattering it to what felt like shards of glass, morsels.

He immediately closed off where you two were so none of the others boys could see or even hear what was going on. To know what David was about to do

He stared at you for a moment before doing something odd in your eyes. You stood there sniffling as he did so. Something that was more meaningful than words in this moment.

Both of you stood there bare in front of each other, David had removed every single piece of clothing that held to his frame…wanting to show you what he truly is. How his body was scarred from stretch marks, to how he had plush and soft features as well, sure you knew David’s body but he never let himself be completely bare in front of you, his own insecurity showing now. Ones he’d have for eternity.

“Don’t. Don’t you dare look away from me y/n” David spoke in a low tone, his voice stern with concern. “Look at me. Look at who you love. Your body is beautiful…I” he stopped staring at you. Watching how your chest heaved from crying, waiting a moment before he went on.

“Why…why are you…mad at yourself? What about the marks? I..I have them too? My baby doll. My dearest love” he said with a softening voice, “you’re not alone”

“David” you spoke up looking over his body…his body that you loved. The David that you loved entirely, “I don’t know….I just—“

“The mirror hurts…I know….dove listen—“

“No David please you don’t understand!” You started crying again, “you don’t understand what it’s like-“ he cut you off taking a stern step towards you, his presence harshened as the dim light casted heavy shadows over his face. His inhumane features showing more and more.

“What it’s like to fucking see yourself in the mirror. Seeing what to hide and to hate. What— to want to peel off your skin and never show again!” David’s voice sharpened looking at you, “I mean it when I know what it feels like. Do you see my brothers in blood?! Compared to them? Y/n I know! Please why do you think such untrue and absolutely wrong things about yourself, why in the world?! You’re beautiful to me. You’re dear to me you’re my..you’re my precious” he stoped for a moment staring down between the both of you, “……….what can I do to help?!” He huffed for a moment before regretting his tone, never wanting to use such harsh words towards you, “what…what can I do? Don’t you see how I too am flawed” his eyes finally returning to the cool blue orbs that they were, the human David you knew. What humanity he had left in him.

You stood there staring at him now, flushed as words had left you. The confidence of what you knew of David seeing how he too, actually knew what you meant, “can we” you sniffled wiping your eyes, “can we heal together? Learn to love ourselves at that?”

David took a deep breath for a moment, the room falling silent between the both of you, the sounds of pigeons and bats fluttering was all you could hear. He took a step towards you and wrapped his arms around your body pulling you to his in a gentle embrace. Treating you as if the finest China there was. David spoke up.

“Together” he whispered into the curve of your ear as he ducked his head down to press gentle kisses to your cheek. His beard tickling and leaving soft scratches to your face.

“Together”.

Y'all I think I speak on behest of everyone when I say we should totally make a little ficlet of Dwayne's s/o being so motherly to Laddie and slowly but surely Laddie becomes a mama's boy. Me personally I think Marko and Paul would tease him only for s/o to go all mama bear. Do I have any takers??
