Stay safe when meeting up with Internet folks

Yesterday (Nineth of February ‘17 ) evening near midnight I got an announcement I will never forget, the memory will never stop making my skin crawl. I got the message “They found her body.” 

Everyone goes into these things thinking “this will never be me”, “these kind of things don’t happen to me”. Truth is it does happen, and you will end up hurt, taken, or worse…

We all have that good friend with siblings you spend a little too much time around and you think of them as that annoying sibling but if anyone looks at them wrong fear thy wrath. That’s what Sashia was to me, this annoying little sister I co-opted and hated and loved at the same time. 

She was a twenty year old beautiful young girl who collected Pokemon figurines, she was on facebook groups around it to try and find people to trade the ones she was missing for doubles she had and such. Normal everyday stuff. 

Tuesday she had 2 appointments in the city I live, one was with a friend to go shopping an other was a stop along the way at the place of someone from the group to do a quick trade. She never showed up to go shopping. Wednesday she was plastered all over the news, Thursday evening they searched a house today we’re all hoping it’s a sick nightmare. 

Please when meeting up with someone you met online don’t go alone, don’t meet up at their place instead meet up in a public places, and always tell someone the exact location you are going and how long it is going to take.

I am not victim blaming, things like this should NOT happen, but it’s a sad truth that these things DO HAPPEN. 

So please, I BEG of you, no matter how well you think you know the person, how safe you think they might be… please don’t risk it until you have met them in person at least once… People often turn out to be very different irl from on the web.

Okay i did clame down enough to write. And MAN this Episode of Yuri on ice was everything you can hope for. Even when Yuri did not win Gold but it was so statisfing to no end! How evreything did warp up in each other and the credit scene just absolut perfection! I cant say no more becouse my words are not enough to discripe this master peace!

It really seems like people are out for blood with Andromeda for no apparent reason. I have never seen a fandom act this way before a release. I see more negative than positive and it is honestly getting on my nerves. I have only good things to say from what I have seen and read.

After my early access playthrough I have to say I loved it. I’m not saying anything more on that because I don’t want to ruin it for anyone.

And I know what you mean, I’ve scrolled by plenty of negative things, but you know what? Keep on scrolling anon. Don’t let it ruin your fun, opinions are exactly that- opinions (I was going to make an old joke here, but i’ll pass). Yes there are overly-critical people in this fandom but there are also fans giving it praise. People who are willing to give Mass Effect Andromeda a new start. I think a lot of these people who are so critical are just trying to deal with the fact that the game is evolving and it scares them. Fear of the unknown, doesn’t that ring a bell? 

I think the negativity sprouts from people over-speculating what it should be , instead of what it already is. Mass Effect has always been a story of lore-rich adventure with important characters who we not only love, but who have also become a part of us. It’s difficult for some people to grasp restarting all of that with a new crew and protagonist, on top of all the romance rumors, animations, combat, maps, etc etc- I could go on and on all day.

 Sorry I rambled. What I meant was: We should respect the vast amount of effort that has been put into this game over the past five years and press the start button with an open mind. Thanks for the ask!
