I will see if I can explain what’s running around in my crazy brain. The following is my vampire universe in general so some of this is unique to my universe.

Would he refrain because he does not know how much pain it would cause to his smaller, human lover?

•Currently and as Alucard persona, the Vampire King is less primal as his Vlad persona. Think more sophisticated and up more with the times. Hellsing’s codes and behaviors also apply to Alucard for the most part.

•As Alucard, he would be very much more to refrain. The initial knotting is a physical symbol of becoming mates for life or unlife. A lover probably would not get knotted unless of course a breeding kink overrides the control.
