All right, so while I want to resume my travels around Jamaa and give a broad overview of my impressions of each area, I want to focus a little more on the things I like most about this game- the lore and art. I’d also like to have an eyepatch again, so I guess I’m gonna finally have to learn about trading and item rarities!

But more about both of those later, because right now…

Heck yes. Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love the autumn colors and creepy decorations with all my heart. I felt a rush of excitement when I heard the dramatic music when I logged in. I adore it all.

And the SECOND thing Ian ever did as lead writer was… introduce Bean the Dynamite and Bark the Polar Bear!

I’m going to assume most people who would be reading an Archie Sonic blog know who these two are, but if you don’t: they’re from the semi-obscure 1996 arcade game Sonic the Fighters. Bean chucks bombs, and Bark is strong. Pretty straightforward. Surprisingly, even though Archie had taken Ray the Flying Squirrel from the even more obscure arcade title SegaSonic the Hedgehog, these two had never made it into the comics. So Ian took the liberty of introducing them. And in fact, he would keep using them, to the point where they’re sort of considered signature characters of his. (The only reason they haven’t appeared in the IDW comics is that they’re apparently considered Classic Sonic exclusive characters by Sega these days)

I also love how Sonic is so bothered by Bark trashing the Great Oak Slide
