Hey y'all!! I'm making a visual novel, working with the talented devs @badsummer Chasing my dreams! Super excited!! HELP A SISTER OUT! Check out Bad Summer! đđŸ

Did you know Bad Summer has four romanceable characters to choose from? Meet Jake, the rebellious bad boy. Beneath his nonchalant attitude and tendency to break the rules, this boy has a heart of gold. This concept art is just the beginning. Stay tuned, we have a lot more to show you!
Love this artstyle y'all đ

Hey, everyone! If you have been eagerly awaiting a new gaming experience that will transport you to new dimensions of romance and horror, then search no further. "Bad Summer" is a captivating journey that promises to immerse you in a hauntingly beautiful narrative, filled with twists, turns, and unexpected encounters. We can't wait to introduce you to "Bad Summer," our upcoming visual novel and analog horror experience!
"Bad Summer" weaves a chilling tale in the form of a dark visual novel, blending elements of horror, mystery, and romance to create an eerie tapestry of the unknown. Play as Jenny, a teenage camp counselor fighting for her life as a deadly creature of unknown origins stalks her every move. Can you survive the dangers of Camp Bear Ridge summer camp and find love along the way?
Our visual novel has unique point-and-click adventure elements. Interact with objects and use/manage your inventory well to discover hidden lore and solve puzzles. Found a key in an inconspicuous location? Take it with you! Might be useful for later. Items stored in your backpack will help you progress through the game. Take it everywhere you go. Never know when you might need it.

Unlike normal point-and-click adventure games, "Bad Summer" has a big emphasis on romance. Our horror elements are inspired by successful visual novels such as The Letter and Doki Doki Literature Club. Our romance took inspiration from k-dramas, TV shows, and steamy best-selling fiction novels. Our storyline was also heavily inspired by interactive drama video games such as The Quarry and Halloween movies starring Jason Voorhees.
Expect jump scares, blood, gore, death, and analog horror sequences.
Although horror and unsettling themes is the primary focus in Bad Summer, this is a narrative-heavy game with choices, consequences, and multiple endings. Your decisions can either save lives or end them. The stakes are high in Bad Summer and you will find yourself constantly questioning who to trust.

Romance is a critical part of "Bad Summer", but we didnât want our game to feel like an average dating simulator. Instead, when pursing a romantic interest in this game, there is no ârightâ or âwrongâ choices. Converse with your love interest however you choose. Take a timid approach, speak with them from the heart, boldly make your advances, or shy away if you want to.
You wonât need to choose the right answers to romance a character in this game. No need for a guide or silly mini-games. Be yourself and youâll find love regardless. You deserve it.
But you can only romance one and youâll be locked in early in the game. (There will be a notification before you make the choice, donât worry.) Choose wisely. Your life might depend on it.

Warning!
"Bad Summer" is rated 18+ and is intended for a mature audience. This game includes violence, blood and gore, sexual themes, strong language, and discussions of death, grief, and depression. Jump scares too. Horror and distressing depictions go hand-in-hand. It is a core element of our game, and is not suitable for children. Youâve been warned.
Interested? Follow us for more updates, teasers, and cool spooky stuff! Also, check out our website for more details! đ„
This game looks cool...love me a good dating simulator đ
Are you ready for Bad Summer? đ„ Brace yourself for heart-wrenching choices as you discover the harrowing secrets of Bear Ridge summer camp. Can you survive the dangers lurking in the woods and find love along the way?
I love this art style!

Meet Candice (aka Candi), the girl who brings a burst of color and creativity to every situation! đâš From her bubblegum-pink hair to her knack for MacGyver-like problem-solving, she's a force to be reckoned with! đš
Can you survive Bad Summer with her at your side? We hope so!
reminders for writers.
Tropes are great, but they don't make your story. You do.
Execution matters. Something that has been done a million times before, still valid to write about. Yes, it might be a concept storytelling has since long been exploring, but it has never been done by you.
There are things you bring to the table, worlds, plots and characters, that no other writer would ever even think of, and you should never strive to mirror another writer. We don't need ''just another writer.''
The only thing we need is you, your thoughts, feelings and ideas. That's enough. Your passion for writing is enough. You don't need to prove anything, to anyone. Write because it ignites something in you.
Your voice as a writer, it matters. It's unique and irreplaceable, and you should never feel like you aren't allowed to write about something just because it's considered ''old news'' or cliché.
Clichés are clichés for a reason. Your story isn't automatically bad just because you decided to use one.
me, watching my mutuals post ceaselessly about a fandom iâm not in:

Hey, GTA lovers and fanfiction mutuals! I'm sure some of you might be curious regarding why I haven't updated any of my fanfictions in months. Its because I'm working on a visual novel based on my original characters from my GTA fic, Suits and Shades.
So the development of game is well underway and we're going to be streaming the early access demo LIVE on discord tonight! If any of my followers are interested in showing some support for the project and would like to know more of what it's about, feel free to DM me!
I still canât believe that fanfiction is free
I sometimes have to pay for water, but with a phone and some wifi, I get to read whole novels about my favorite characters for exactly zero additional dollars
How goddamn rad is that
if you write fanfic and weâre mutuals just assume i consider you a celebrity thank u and goodnight
đđđ

oh my fucking god

lesterâs little angel
To any fic writers who worry they are wasting their time... I read a fic for a relatively small and inactive fandom about three years ago. And there was one specific scene where a character watched another dancing like an idiot to a beyonce song and it was so sweet and loving that even now years later I have that song on one of my spotify playlist so every once in a while it will play and remind me of that fic, and every time it does I smile and feel a little happier.
The stats on a fic will never really tell you if your writing touched someone. There's no numerical way to show you what impact you made. Maybe you are wasting time, or maybe you are writing something that someone will remember for a long time, something that will never fail to make them smile.
creative writingâs just like yeah sure i can deal with my issues i just need to cover them in several layers of metaphors first

I feel this in my soul

To everyone that makes OCs for GTA V fanfics... I see you. You are creative and talented. As much as I love canon characters in fics, seeing OCs bringing who they are to the canon characters always makes me smile. Cherish your OCs and I love the dedication and passion you all infuse into them.

Franklin is someone who will always hold a special place in my heart because in my country darker people aren't on tv because there is an obsession with wanting to be white. Franklin was the first protagonist I saw ever who wasn't light skinned.

Yesterday was a bad writing day. I spent a lot of time staring at a screen. Lots of Tumblr replies. Lots of Twitter (the Netflix Sandman trailer going out didnât help). Lots of being grumpy at myself and convinced I couldnât do it any more. The script was a mess. I was doomed. This morning I printed out what I had to fix, picked up a pen, made a few notes and started typing. It was fun and easy and straightforward. I finished it and sent it to the people who needed to see it, and just got an amazed call from our script editor saying she was laughing while crying and couldnât work out how Iâd done everything in a day.
And I hadnât done it all in a day. All of the being miserable yesterday was necessary for it to fly today. All of the knowing it was insoluble and awful made the work today relatively easy. I had to get out of my own way, and had to read it freshly, without being attached to anything. And then I just did the notes. And to make the thing that worked today, a lot of stuff that didnât quite work or sort of worked had to be written too. Itâs always easier to fix stuff that exists.
Anyway. Yesterday = bad writing day. Today = good writing day. I thought it was worth telling people, in case there was anyone else out there who was having a bad writing day too.

fictional character discourse would be more fun if we all internalized the fact that characters are narrative tools, not people. once we have that basic fact down, we can start talking about what story the author is trying to tell using these characters, whether theyâre successful, whether the story itself is successful and by what means we are measuring successâwhich are all really fun and interesting things to discuss! but we simply cannot get to that point unless we first accept that fictional characters simply do not have thoughts, feelings, opinions, or any agency on their own. a fictional character has more in common with the fictional chair theyre sitting on than with a real person
