Hi, I just wanted to share a notion template I've edited to organize my fic-writing, or just writing in general. I found it very useful, and maybe you'd find it useful too.

Censorship will not solve a single problem. Putting ban and restrictions on AO3 will drive creators away. You won’t be making your platform look appealing to outsiders. You’re destroying your own platform by driving the majority of your creators away.
The exact same thing happened to fanfiction.net and Tumblr. So many people quit. AO3 is one of the very few platforms creators have.
Censorship does not solve any problem. It does harm to creators.

No author is entitled to comments, to interaction, to reblogs or likes or reviews or anything, but in a community where you’re essentially a bunch of indie writers, that’s the lifeblood that keeps people *posting*. Writing doesn’t necessarily stop, but when someone feels like no one gives a shit whether you’re sharing or not, you quit sharing.

I have a question for the writers of Tumblr
Would you ever consider writing fanfiction of your own work? And I don't just mean like random tidbits of characters, I mean full-on fanfic tropes like coffee-shop AUs and alternate universes.
I'd like to think I would, but I would be worried that I'd 'use up' my ideas for that particular world if that makes sense.
I get it, fanfic writers aren't novelists. But Nobody posts fanfic writing tips so they often use novelist tips. So that weird but scary fact you want to keep from the novelists...you should keep from the fanfic writers. They're just as scary.

I'm currently working on my first draft of my very first novel. And I'm excited!
With the trend of fanfic writers taking fanfic and transforming the narrative into an original, I wonder how many here are in the same boat.
I personally took an original idea, changed it to a fanfic, finished it as a fanfic, and am now currently reverting it back to an original.
Is that something that interests people, or is it too played out now?
