before & after

“Can someone tell me why I just got called by Mr. Kim telling me that his daughter was just fired after we promised him we’ll take her in?”
Jimin and Jungkook looked at Jin as he came to Jimin’s office, clearly seething by the way his cheeks were flushed. The other boys quickly came right behind him, shutting the door so they’ll be able to speak in peace without anyone hearing in.
“Well, Iseul has not only been harassing every worker in every division,” Jimin started, leaning against his desk as his arms were crossed over his chest, “but she has been physically hurting workers.”
“Do you have any proof of this?” Jin asked, already having an idea as to who made Jimin take action.
“Yes, I put cameras yesterday morning in my division,” Jimin replied, anger coursing through his veins once he recalled the video in his head. “My workers were aware I moved cameras by the way.”
“And I already know that worker of yours is the cause of this,” Jin snapped back and Jimin grabbed Jungkook’s hand in order to calm the man down. “If it were any other worker, you wouldn’t have paid attention to the harassment!”
“Yes, I would have,” Jimin defended his actions almost immediately so Jin wouldn’t have bad things to say about you. “I’m their boss, Jin. I would’ve believed my workers, anyone, if they confided in me to tell me who the person that has been bullying and physically hurting them is. Do not try to start something based on something that isn’t factual and true.”
“Jimin, I know you guys went out with her,” Jin argued. “We do not need anyone else in this relationship. No one else.” He punched the bridge of his nose and sighed. “Call her up. I want to talk to her.”
“I’m not doing that if you’re just going to yell at her,” Jimin stared back at him with the same expression etched on his face. He wasn’t happy about bringing you into an argument that you would later blame on yourself.
“Send her up, Jimin,” Jin got closer to Jimin and Namjoon stepped in, pushing both of them away from one another. He turned to look at Jimin.
“Just call her up, Jimin, okay?” Jimin exhaled through his nose, grabbing his phone while he glared at Jin who gave him back the same expression.
“Hey, Eunji,” Jimin spoke, “can you call Y/n up?” Pause. “Yeah, I just, uh, need to speak to her more about the incident with Iseul. The others are here to hear her side of the story… Yeah, send her up right now… okay, bye.” He went to go stand up next to Jungkook. “She’s coming up.”
“Good.”
It wasn’t long before you came to the floor, hands slightly shaking when you knew Jimin wasn’t the only one here. Everyone was in there.
“Y/n,” Taehyung greeted you, opening the door for you as soon as he heard you slightly knock on the door. You walked in and he gave you a reassuring smile before he closed the door behind you.
Jimin immediately walked towards you as the others sat on his couch, eyeing you.
“Listen, if you feel uncomfortable, just tap the side of my leg,” he instructed. “Jin is the one you haven’t met yet and he’s the one that wants to talk to you. I don’t know why but…” he sighed and stared at you with such softness. “I’ll be by your side.”
“Thank you,” you mumbled, smiling a little and he responded back, giving you the same smile. He stood aside and walked behind you as you headed towards the couch that could only fit two people. Jimin, of course, sat next to you.
You sat down and you looked at all of them, but the eyes of the one you haven’t met stared deep into you that made you look away, feeling uncomfortable.
“Why did you have Iseul fired?” Jin immediately asked before you could fully breathe. He gave you a deadpan expression, his eyes staying on you that you swore he wasn’t blinking. “Because from I saw, Iseul has never been accused of anything and she doesn’t have any complaints.”
“I didn’t have Iseul fired,” you replied with as much confidence as you could muster. Jimin stared at the side of your face. “She has simply been harassing me since the very beginning of my time here. She’s very powerful, everyone knows. She flaunts her title, her parents, and the fact she knows all of you. We all appreciate our jobs way too much that we won’t risk it by telling you guys what she has been doing, then finding out you guys are friends, and we get fired because she’s important.”
“It doesn’t excuse the fact that she doesn’t have any complaints against her name,” you arched an eyebrow at the man, irritation now coursing through your bones at the tone he spoke to you in.
“It seems you’re trying to excuse her actions, Mr. Kim,” you said, frowning at him. The ones who you have spoken the most to, agreed with you, nodding their heads.
“Yeah, Jin,” Taehyung spoke up, staring at his boyfriend with a disappointed expression, “it does seem that you’re trying to do that.”
“I’m sorry that I’m suspicious of your words,” Jin glared at you and your hands slightly shook with anger. “You see, Ms. Y/n, it’s not uncommon for a worker to lie in order to get money or to get into the pants of every single one of us.”
“Jin,” Jungkook stared him down but Jin simply waved him off as he looked at you.
“So, tell me, how much money do you want?”
“Mr. Kim, if I was just sent up here to basically be told that I’m a liar,” you started with the most calm tone you could muster as you stared down at your arm where your wound was covered up, blood slowly starting to seep through the bandage, “I would like to leave if that’s okay.”
“No—”
Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung turned to look at Jin as soon as he was about to deny your request. Yoongi nudged him as he sat next to him and nodded.
“You’re excused, y/n,” Namjoon looked at you, a small smile on his face. You thanked him and stood up to leave, opening the door before Jimin stopped you.
“I’m sorry about that,” he spewed out. “Honestly. I believe you. We’ll talk later okay?”
You sighed and you faced him, ignoring everyone’s stares. “It seems that Mr. Kim has an issue with me. I don’t want to talk to you if he he doesn’t like it, Jimin. He is your boyfriend, I’m a friend. His opinion matters more. I’ll see you around, okay?”
You tried to force a smile but there was an ache on your chest at knowing that you won’t be able to speak to Jimin. But, it’s the truth. His partner who he has been with for years doesn’t feel comfortable around you, you can see that. You are not going to be someone who accidentally gets stuck into those situations and you break anyone up. You had never dealt with any type of situations like these but, you hoped you were doing the right thing as you left.
As soon as the door closed, Jimin’s lips were parted. He had finally made a friend who didn’t criticize or objectify him, and now that friend was gone because Jin was being an asshole. Such… an asshole.
“What is wrong with you?” The guys eyed Jimin as he headed towards the eldest of the group. “You saw the video, Jin. It wasn’t her fault and she wasn’t lying.”
“Don’t let yourself be brainwashed,” Jin shrugged, staring at his hands that were clasped on top of his knee. “You already dealt with this with—”
“No, do not bring Nabi into this,” Jimin snapped, shaking his head. “She is in the past. She left and that’s it. There’s no reason for any of us to hold onto her when she stole from us and slept with other people. Y/n is my friend. She is not someone who I’m fucking around with.”
With that, Jimin left, closing the door behind him rather harshly. He hoped to get to you but he knew he had to at least respect your wishes for… today. He’ll seek for you tomorrow.
“He’s right, Jin,” Namjoon was the first one to speak his mind as he stared at the eldest who was silent. “Listen, we appreciate you taking care of us, always looking out for us, but it’s time we’re able to trust people. Not everyone but, if Jimin or any of the boys want to befriend her, let them. But, if you feel uncomfortable or if you feel like you personally don’t trust her and have that feeling in your gut, then your feelings are valid. They won’t hang with her, okay?”
Jin looked at Namjoon and sighed. He eyed everyone there and turned to look at the ones who have gotten to know you: Jungkook, Taehyung, and Yoongi.
“Do you guys like her?” He asked. The three glanced at one another. “Be honest with me.”
“She’s so sweet,” Taehyung spoke. “Genuinely. We got to know her and her intentions aren’t bad. Since we learned from Nabi, we looked for red flags. There aren’t none with Y/n. She especially cares so much about Jimin.”
“I’ll talk to him at home,” Jin breathed out and he stood up, buttoning his blazer. His gaze focused on Jungkook. “Go check up on him. Knowing him, he’s going to kill someone.”
Jungkook nodded and left, quickly following after Jimin, knowing he was already by the parking lot with their guards. He couldn’t help but think about you and the way you looked. The wound on your arm made his hands turn into fists, angry at the fact someone hurt such a kind person like you. You didn’t do anything but already knowing Iseul, she only came at you and the way you looked. He experienced her hatred when he was younger so he already knew the type of person she was.
He looked up once he felt the elevator stop, making him stare in the furious eyes of a girl who was already pressing on the buttons.
“Stupid men,” she mumbled under her breath, shaking her head while tapping her foot furiously on the floor. But, she stopped once she finally noticed the figure behind her. She looked and softly gasped, immediately bowing. “Mr. Jeon.”
“Ari, right?” The girl nodded. “Tell Y/n I’m sorry. She has my phone number, I’ll be calling her later.”
Ari nodded yet again, being left behind dumbfounded when Jungkook left. His guards followed behind him, leading him towards Jimin who had, thankfully, not left yet.
“You doing okay?” Jungkook asked, appearing next to Jimin’s side. Jimin didn’t look at him and looked straight ahead, sighing. “Listen, Jin is just protecting us.”
“I know he is,” Jimin answered. “But, he’s not doing it in a way that is good. We have experienced Iseul’s horrible ways, he should’ve understood that that’s the type of person she is.”
“I know.”
“And Y/n doesn’t want to basically talk to me,” Jimin breathed out. “I finally made a friend who treats me as a human being and not a monster or an object. She genuinely wants to get to know me. That old hag… Nabi ruined it for the others.”
“Nabi was a horrible person,” Jungkook said, following behind him into the car. They both situated themselves and put on their seatbelts, still thinking about the events that had happened. “We just fell in love with the wrong person.”
“We kill people,” Jimin started, his head moving side to side to display his anger at speaking about his past lover. “We have blood in our hands. We torture people to tell us what we need to know, yet we couldn’t tell when Nabi lied to us. We were just candy to her. She stole from us, lied to us, wasn’t loyal to us, and she made us do everything for her because she knew we would do anything for her.”
“Love made us blind, Jimin,” Jungkook reassured him, grabbing his hand. “We fell for her. Hard. We have been dating for years and getting someone new into our relationship simply made us all excited. We didn’t see what others could. Our parents didn’t see it either. It’s not our fault.”
Jimin nodded at his words and slumped his shoulders. “Y/n doesn’t want anything to do with me, us. I get her opinion, though. She said she won’t talk to me if Jin feels uncomfortable that she’s doing so. She’s such an angel, though, because she got accused of basically being a gold digger by Jin and yet, she’s thinking of his feelings.”
“Listen, Jin is just… taking care of us,” Jungkook looked down to catch Jimin’s attention and smiled a little when he made eye contact with him. “After Nabi, we were all heartbroken and Jin had to pick up the pieces that she broke while he was handling his own pain. I know right now you feel this way because Y/n has become your friend, but look at the issue in point of view.”
“I know,” Jimin mumbled, his chest heaving by the amount of sighs he leg out while he licked his lips. “I just wish he wasn’t so harsh, you know? He should trust us.”
“I know, I know,” Jungkook wrapped an arm around his shoulders, bringing their heads together. “We’ll go home and we need to talk to Y/n, whether she likes it or not.”
Jimin chuckled. “That’ll be nice. I already miss her.”
Jungkook smiled before the two quieted down, admiring the scenery. He could only think of you and he knew Jimin was thinking of you, too.
It was odd the way you easily bonded with them. Especially with him, Jimin, Taehyung, and Yoongi. All four were the quietest out of the 7, and for you to manage to get them out their shells for a bit was more than enough for Jungkook to be able to trust you with his older partners and with him.
“Jungkook said he’ll call you later,” Ari told you as soon as you two sat down for dinner in your apartment. Eunji sat across from you, her son by her side as he ate some cut up potatoes that Eunji had said, “He has an obsession with potatoes. Do not get any, he’ll throw a fit.”
“I don’t really feel like it’s fair for Mr. Kim,” you frowned, shaking your head. Ari and Eunji arched their eyebrows as if asking which one. “The older one. He seemed like he was uncomfortable with me… and he was! He really asked how much money I wanted.”
“He’s probably taking care of them emotionally, honey,” Eunji threw you a pitied look. “I mean, they haven’t personally talked to anyone since the employee that used to work in our division got fired.”
You sighed and nodded, playing with your food. “Yeah, you’re right. I just feel like he could’ve dealt with the situation better instead of calling me a liar when there was evidence and there are people who saw the situation happen. I know you two have my back. The other workers… not so much.”
“Look, just give him a chance to know you,” Ari reassured you by placing her hand on top of yours, hoping to soothe your nerves. “If he doesn’t want to, it’s his loss. But you at least know that Jimin, or any of the boys you have met, didn’t exactly know what he was going to say.”
“Wait for them to call,” Eunji suggested, a smirk forming on her lips. You snorted and shook your head.
“I doubt they’ll even remember.”
As dinner passed by quickly, Ari, Eunji, and her child left your home. You were thankful that they at least helped you clean and you quickly did all of your business before heading to bed.
As you got out of the shower and changed, you went to bed, after making sure everything was locked and secured in your house, and just laid there. You really didn’t know what to think about the situation, but your friends were. You should cut Jin some slack and you do what to but it’s the he humiliated you and said some things he shouldn’t have said.
Your phone buzzing broke you off of your thoughts. You grabbed it and looked at the screen, smiling a little at seeing Jimin’s name showing up. Maybe you should ignore it, but you knew you would feel bad so you answered.
“Hello?” You responded, putting the phone on speaker.
“Hey,” you heard the way his voice softened, speaking to you in almost a hushed whisper. “Did I wake you?”
“No, I hadn’t gone to sleep yet, don’t worry,” you chuckled a little, feeling your heart beating against your chest. You placed a hand on top and calmed your breathing down. “Why are you calling me?”
“I’m sorry for how things went in the office,” he apologized and you heard the way he let out a sigh, clearly phased by his partner’s actions. “Jin isn’t like that but, I hope you do understand he is very cautious about women who befriend us. He has been the one to pick us all up once we get hurt and he always takes care of us. With you, his instincts went off. We got close to you in a matter of two weeks and he got worried.” He heard silence. “I know his reaction wasn’t right at all and I apologize on his behalf. He shouldn’t have assumed you were doing anything because of money.”
“I know he doesn’t know me,” you started, “but it still hurt to be accused of basically wanting to sleep with you guys or be accused of wanting money. The harassment I receive at work is no joke and it’s not something I would exactly like about.”
“I know, flower,” there goes your heart again, “I know. But, I am sorry, okay? And he doesn’t mind that we hang out with you. Everyone stood up for you so he saw that we trusted you.”
You softly giggled while your eyes drooped from the lateness and lack of sleep. “That’s nice of you guys. Thank you.”
“I was going to ask you a favor by the way,” you heard him say and you hummed, gesturing for him to continue. “Is it okay if we can sleep on call? I’m sleeping alone today and the others went to a business meeting real quick. It’ll only be for today.”
You smiled a little and nodded. “It’s okay, Jimin. We can stay on. I won’t be heading to work tomorrow either way. I have my day off.”
You heard Jimin snickered and sheets rustling. “I’ll come visit you with food then. I miss your presence.” Your face flushed and you cleared your throat. “I don’t hear any talk back so I’ll show up.”
“No you aren’t,” you scoffed, not believing his words. Jimin hummed.
“Watch me.”
You smiled at his words. “Goodnight, Jimin. Sweet dreams.”
“Goodnight, y/n, sweet dreams,” Jimin repeated back and you cuddled your blankets, placing your phone on the night stand beside you, letting it charge. You heard him talk. “Before you fully sleep, Namjoon and Hoseok want to go to lunch with you. Get to know you. Don’t worry, I’ll be there.”
“Mhm, I’ll go, but you better come pick me because I don’t want another one of you knowing my address.”
“Be quiet and get enough rest for tomorrow.”
“Okay, okay. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight, flower.”

“What’s that in your hand?”
“H-Huh?”
“The flower,” Seokjin beckons at the rose he has in his hand, his tall figure and deadpanned eyes staring down at the man, it almost leaves him wanting to pee his pants right on the spot. “It’s not for the baker, now is it?”
Six more pairs of eyes stare directly down at him and yet he still has the audacity to say; “Yes, it’s..it’s for miss Y/N.”
“Ah.”
Suddenly the air in the little shop shifts and a sharp, cold breeze rushes through the room despite the fact that today should have been nothing but a pleasant breeze. Little ashes of smoke begin to appear from the thin air of the floors of the shop, sauntering around as customers sitting in their designated seats pick their feet up out of fear, their whispers of panic raising, and the man at the center of the demons’ wrath feels sharp ice crawling all over his body.
“It seems you want trouble,” Jungkook says as he takes a step forward, causing the man to step back, and so Jungkook keeps following along until he backs himself against the counter, trembling in sight while the rest of the people hold their breaths, too frightful to make a move in fear of being on the receiving end of the demons’ wrath.
“I-I don’t want trouble,” the poor man stutters.
Taehyung clicks his tongue in irritation while Jimin scoffs.
“Clearly you do,” Namjoon says. “You uttered her name. In the demon world, no one is allowed to utter someone’s name so carelessly. Only if they mean something to you and if the person has allowed you to utter their name.”
“I-I’m sorry sir, I-I didn’t know.”
“And giving roses,” Yoongi plucks the flower right out of his fingertips, “means an eternal love you are willing to spend the rest of your life with.” He burns the petty little thing right before the man’s eyes, all the while keeping his glare pointed right at him, causing the guy to visibly shallow a hard lump.
“Do you understand where you’re wrong?” Hoseok threatens, an arm propped up against Yoongi’s shoulder, hovering.
“I-I-” He looks like he’s about to piss his pants.
“Do you, understand?” So Hoseok reiterates, deeper, darker, graver. “Yes or no?”
“I..y-yes, yes—”
“What are you doing?”
A voice.
A sweet, sweet voice more precious and sweeter than the nectar the butterflies flock themselves onto, than any blood that can satisfy a vampire, than the sun that gives humans light and nutrients. A voice they love more than anything in this world.
Except the woman herself whom it belongs to.
They turn in an instant, ears perking up, head snapped, to find you standing before the door that leads to the backrooms, holding onto a tray of desserts they know you’ve made just for them, and their faces immediately soften.
The room brightens up, the shadows beginning to melt away into thin air in the same way they appeared, and Jimin is just about to rush up to you if it weren’t for your eyes suddenly shifting from them.
Your attention isn’t on them.
“You’re scaring the poor man!” You quickly say as you put your tray down onto the counter, rushing to untie the apron strings from behind, rushing in between them and the gentleman, an arm extending as you force Jungkook to back off. “Not just him but my customers!” You turn to address the guy. “Are you alright sir? I apologize for everything.”
He takes one glance behind you and instantly freezes up once more, quick to shake his head vehemently at the dark eyes staring straight into his soul — unbeknownst to you.
“I-I’m okay! I’m okay!” He blurts out before simply scurrying out the door before you can get another word in.
You stare at the scene, blinking at his sudden rush, before turning around to place your hands upon your hips, all the while the boys are quick to change up their expressions, acting as if they’ve been innocent all along.
“You just lost me a customer. Would you like to explain why you were interrogating the poor dude?” You start, brows furrowed, shoulders tense, chin slightly protruding and they know you’re trying to be all high and mighty but in their eyes, you just look like an upset bunny trying to fight seven wolves. “You really need to keep yourselves in check and stop summoning your shadows to show up out of nowhere, you know that scares people. How are my customers supposed to eat and drink and have a calm peaceful day if you just show up out of nowhere and deliberately make a scene?”
“M-miss Y/N, we’re fine but please—” An older woman tries to appease you, her approach timid as she holds her hands up, trying to calm you down in fear of the men in the room who’re the reason for your anger. “You don’t have to stand up for our sake.”
“We’re fine, you don’t have to do this.”
“I’d really love it if I didn’t have to witness our favorite baker in town—”
“What are you talking about, ma’am, they need a proper scolding,” you say otherwise, clearly unaware of the public’s concern for your life, being as you’re literally standing up against seven tall, masculine men who can literally bend the Earth and destroy this town with a flick of their wrist.
“Miss Y/N, please—”
“It’s alright, just go back to your coffee. I assure you I can handle this.”
“No please—”
You ignore their pleas to turn back around, that business smile fading the second you meet their eyes and they frown, hating the way you sounded kind to your customers and yet don’t bother to send them a smile.
“So then, what do you have to say for yourselves?”
“It’s not even that big of a—”
“Excuse me?” You cross your arms before your chest, looking up at them with a serious expression and they know they can’t not listen to whatever you say.
Only you can ever make them bend a knee.
“Sorry,” Jimin grumbles under his breath but you pretend you didn’t hear it.
“What was that?”
He sighs and steps forward, snaking an arm around your waist and pulling you in close, much to the audience’s dismay, and pepper kisses upon your cheeks. “You heard me darling, I said I was sorry.”
“Sorry. We’re sorry,” Jungkook joins in, a hand on your head as he presses a kiss to your temple.
You feel your heart lighting up, a smile waiting to creep up but you know not to give in just yet. “And to my customers?”
Namjoon crosses a hand over to his heart, giving the people a light bow. “We apologize for the inconvenience, dear customers of Y/N’s,” he says, and while they simply look back with mouths agape and widened pupils, frozen in their spots, he turns his head back your way, a cheeky little grin spread across his face as if asking for a compliment for doing the thing that you asked him to do.
You bite back a grin, seeing how obedient they are when it comes to you, but you know that if you let them see even the smallest bit of that, they'll disregard the people around them and simply coddle you to their heart’s content.
So you take Jimin’s hand and lead him into the backrooms, knowing the rest are quick to follow along, all the while leaving your customers blinking and rubbing their eyes, wondering if what they had just seen was right or if it had been simply a figment of their imaginations.
After all, everyone knows demons would never yield to a human that easily, much less care for them in the way they just treated you.
“Someone looks stressed.”
Once you’re finally left alone with your demons without any eyes kept on you, you let your guard down, smiling ruefully as you take a good look at the seven of them. Demons don’t live on sleep in the way humans need it, they get their energy elsewhere, but sometimes there are days you feel as if perhaps taking a nap will help them.
They look so tired.
“But that still doesn’t mean you can come around here and demand things out of my customers.”
Yoongi grunts, rolling his eyes at your words like a child hating to be scolded. “I get it, I get it,” he repeats exasperatedly when he walks over to place his head against your chest, letting you run your fingers through your hair to coddle him.
“But he was trying to give you roses,” Taehyung says as he clicks his tongue with irritation, that glare he has on is always enough to kill someone if he could, and for a good while you were scared of it yourself, but luckily you’ve gotten used to it. Taehyung would never hurt you after all.
And you know exactly what roses mean in the demon language. It was what they gave you when they confessed their undying love to you after all, a day you will never forget, a day they swept you off your feet and the very day you became forever theirs. You can never forget what those roses mean to them because to demons who’re almost incapable of feeling, much less love another, if a rose is given by them unto another, it is something one must never doubt.
“You do understand that roses aren’t as significant as they are to us humans, don’t you?” You remind them, a light chuckle leaving your lips when Taehyung drops his head onto your shoulder, asking for the same attention you’re giving to Yoongi. “I mean they mean a lot to me because they mean a lot to you but to humans in general, roses are just another sign of love.”
“Exactly, love. That’s a universal language and he was trying to steal you away from us.” You feel Hoseok’s arms slide around your waist from behind, lips pressing onto the nape of your neck.
“He didn’t know,” you try to excuse the action of the poor man who you didn’t even know was trying to confess to you just a few minutes prior.
But they’re having none of that.
“Who goes around professing their love to someone they don’t even know that well? Did he really believe a pretty girl like you would remain loveless by men all around her?”
You laugh awkwardly at Seokjin’s words. “What’re you trying to say by that?”
“He should know his place,” he says as he takes your chin from under his fingertips, bringing you forth to his face, “and that you, who is beloved by many, wouldn’t have already stolen the hearts of others around her. You attract after all, and just like those pretty little sweets you make every day before the town can even wake up, a simple glance at you can cause quite the addiction.”
“I..” You avert your eyes, cheeks heating because you know exactly what he’s trying to imply. “I don’t think I..”
“You don’t?” The eldest raises a brow as if daring you to further challenge his belief.
“W-well…” You stumble on your words before clearing your throat. “Sometimes too many sweets can be bad for you.”
“Well, luckily I have a sweet tooth.” A small little smirk curl along the corner of his lip, a low chuckle leaving him just as he leans in to capture your lips, leaving your heart to skip a thousand beats faster than its initial pounding.
He doesn’t kiss you for too long but even then, once he leaves you, you’re a blushing mess.
“Heart’s pounding rather fast,” Yoongi states, and you’re stumbling over your words once again.
“I..I-I wasn’t…”
“How long has it been? You’re still swooning over such a small thing?” Jungkook teases.
“It’s alright, I quite like it actually,” Seokjin says, his hand reaching up to tuck it behind your ear. “It’s quite refreshing seeing what we do still makes her react like this. You love us that much, huh darling?”
“If you’re here just to tease me, please just return to whatever it was you were doing before coming here.”
“Hey, don’t act like you don’t like it,” Namjoon pulls you back in when you try to run away to hide your embarrassment. They hold you in close, grips so steady you know there’s really no chance you’ll ever be able to escape.
Not that you want to.
And seeing those looks on their faces, you know they know that fact more than anyone else.
After all, these days can sometimes be rare; the days when they show up before you unexpectedly, most times without ever telling you beforehand. These days are the days you cherish the most, when you can be in their arms just like this, without ever feeling as if they would ever let you go.
Not until it’s time for them to leave. Not until they have to leave.
And it’s in those moments when they do have to leave do you feel the most lonely. When you have to stay behind, taking a moment to gather yourself, remember their holds and kisses, before returning to your baking with a customer smile on your face so no one knows just how lonely you are when your demons leave, knowing you can do nothing but wait until their next visit.
There are times when waiting takes days, weeks, and sometimes even a whole month and you’re always left wondering just where they are and where they’ve gone and what they’re doing.
But you know you’d never tell them just how lonely you really are when they’re gone.
After all, the times they visit are for the times of loving and holding one another. It isn’t a time to dwell on things that don’t matter, it isn’t a time to cry and wish and to hope. It’s a time to cherish what’s before you before they have to leave.
Only when they’re gone can you actually dwell on your loneliness.
“If something ever goes wrong or if you simply need us, you can call us anytime.”
You stare at the little bell shaped into a red rose one lonely night while standing under the stars in the middle of your garden.
It’s the garden of red roses they created for you, a garden that can never wilt no matter the seasons, time, or period. It dies only when the owner who received these flowers dies.
It will wilt only once you’ve wilted.
“Just how long will you continue to live, little ones?” You hold a hand out to feel the soft petals of the roses upon your fingertips, smiling at how pretty they are. Not even one petal is torn or hurt. They all look alive and well, alive and flourishing.
Jungkook says they reflect their owners’ age as you know that one day in the far future, these flowers will probably begin to look dainty and frail as well, and yet you don’t wish to ever see these flowers growing old with you.
Growing old means nearing death.
Growing old means wilting.
And then what will happen to the ones you’ll be leaving behind? The lifespan of a human does not last forever after all, and the more you think about it, the more you come to understand that they’ve got all the time in the world, hence they don’t ever look sad or griefed whenever they come to visit days or weeks or months later.
It is because to demons, the passing of time is simply but a second walking by.
Yet to you, every ticking second means a second closer to wilting away.
You let out a sigh, turning from the flowers to take a step forward towards your house when a harsh wind passes by, causing your shawl to fly off, and in an attempt to grab for it, you’ve forgotten about the bell you had in your hand, causing the little flower shape to fall from your hand and jingle as it hits the ground.
You gasp as you freeze in place because in just mere seconds, you know you aren’t alone anymore.
Seven presence right behind you.
Who would have thought it’d work this fast?
You quickly pick your bell up, eyes scanning forward at the shawl that flew off onto a rose bush, and rush forward to take it back because of how cold the night air has gotten.
“Well someone most certainly called us here on purpose, didn’t she?”
You turn back at Yoongi’s sarcastic comment once you’ve gotten your shawl to wrap it back onto yourself.
“Sorry! It was the wind,” you quickly say as you rush back to their side. “The bell was in my hand and when my shawl flew away, I forgot about it so when I went to reach for my shawl, the bell fell out and now here you are, summoned by the jingle.”
“So you’re not in immortal danger?”
At Seokjin’s question, you take a look around, wanting to laugh a bit at the situation. “Uh nope! Looks like I’m perfectly fine.”
“So you’ll only call us if you’re in immortal danger? How disappointing.” Jungkook lets out a heavy sigh, his lips pouting.
“What? You want me to call you if I miss you or something?”
“Yeah, why not?”
“Ha ha, very funny.” You place the bell securely into your pocket then tighten the shawl around your body. “Anyways, it’s pretty cold out here. You should get back to what you were doing. As you can see, I’m not hurt nor am I in any danger. In the meantime, I think it’s time for me to head to bed.”
You begin to walk off to your door again when Namjoon stops you.
“What were you doing out here?” He asks and you stop in your tracks, shrugging.
“Just thinking.”
“Thinking?”
“About immortality and stuff.”
“Immortality?” Jimin steps up to drape an arm around your shoulder in order to turn you back around to where they’re standing, at the same time helping you to keep warm against the night breeze. “What’s got you thinking about immortality, darling? Are you finally thinking about how to become one?”
“You know I like my human life.”
“Yeah, yeah,” he rolls his eyes. “Something about growing old is part of what makes human life so beautiful or whatever.”
“I don’t understand why death is beautiful to you,” Taehyung says.
“Well on the other hand, don’t you think immortality is somewhat of a curse?” You ask and they look upon themselves as if they’ve never given that idea a chance before.
“Why would it be a curse?”
“Well…” Your words trail off slowly and yet they wait for your explanation, eyes steady on you, ears open to whatever you have to say, and you play along with your fingers, nails digging into the skin a bit. “When I die…you’ll still have thousands of years left to live.” You avoid their eyes, staring down at the ground. “...Won’t you miss me?”
They grow silent.
Everything grows silent and you hear nothing but the little breeze that passes by ever so often, as well as the cicadas out in the night, singing their sweet songs, a melody mirroring the birds in the early morning.
“So you’re saying,” Hoseok begins, “that you’ll die before us.”
“It’s inevitable,” you say, looking up again. “Forty years may not mean a lot to you but forty years into the future means me getting old and gray and my health deteriorating. Humans are living and dying at the same time. I get closer to death with each passing day.”
“Don’t say that.”
“You know it’s true.” You watch as Jungkook turns to look at the flowers in the garden, his hand reaching out to touch one of them. “I’d never want to die and let you live through years of heartache. I’d never want to leave you behind in this world and no matter how happy we will be, death is something that is inevitable to come for me, you know that. Though I wouldn’t ever want you to follow along either. I don’t want to die together.”
“So you love your human life but you don’t want to die and leave us behind, but you also don’t want us to choose our own death in following you right behind, and you don’t wish to become an immortal.” Namjoon takes a step forward into your proximity, their expressions more grave than any other times you’ve ever seen them — except in those moments when you’re in immortal danger right before them. It frightens you a bit wondering what’s going on inside their heads, but what frightens you most is the inevitable future threatening to tear you apart.
“What is it that you want, Y/N?” Namjoon asks and you take a moment to think.
What is it that you want?
Why’re you thinking about immortality and death? Why was the wind listening to you when you were left to yourself in this garden? Why did it hear your silent plea in wishing to see them and therefore taking your fate into their hands and causing you to accidentally call for your demons?
Why does any of this even matter?
“I don’t know…” You look down at your feet, fingers unable to keep still, the vision before you blurring. “I-I don’t know,” you admit truthfully and when you look up again, their eyes widen at the sight of tears brimming along your waterline, waiting to fall down any second now. “I don’t want to live forever but I don’t…I don’t want to ever leave you behind and…and…I don’t know what I want. All I know is that…is that even though I enjoy this human life, I hate how different we are. I hate how different we think because to you, a day passing by means nothing. A week, a month, maybe even a year. A year without me is nothing to you. You can let time go by and it wouldn’t mean a thing because you get to live forever but to me…to me….I..”
You swallow the lump that wishes to cut your voice off, forcing the words out. “I hate waiting. I hate not knowing when it is you’ll be visiting again. I hate each day that passes, I hate it when you leave me, I hate being lonely and empty, I hate it when I have to wait. I hate it. I hate all of it.”
“Why didn’t you tell us?”
“I don’t know,” you cry, ignoring the tears that slip by when they close in on you. A few hiccups threaten to leave your voice behind but you continue talking through it all. “It’s just…I-I didn’t bring it up because I know you get busy and even if you aren’t so busy, I…I thought that, well, if the passing of time doesn’t affect you, why should it affect me?”
“You should have spoken up, my love.”
“You know if you asked for the world, we’d give it to you in a heartbeat, right? Why would you think we wouldn’t stop anything and everything if you just asked to be with us?”
“I don’t know,” you cry again, letting the last syllable drag out as more tears fall from your eyes and they’re quick to panic, realizing their reassuring words probably sounded more like them scolding you.
“It’s alright, it’s alright. You don’t have to cry anymore.”
“We know. We know now so it’ll be alright.”
“I’ll tell you what, become one of us.”
Your cry falls silent as only sniffles and small hiccups leave your lips when you hear those words. You blink up at Taehyung, slightly confused. “..What?”
“You heard him, become one of us.”
“I told you I don’t want to live forever.”
“You don’t have to live forever, darling.”
“I..I don’t?”
Yoongi shakes his head. “We can live together for as long as we want and when you get tired of life, when you get tired of immortality, just say the word and we’ll make it happen in a heartbeat.”
“...Really?”
“Of course.” Namjoon presses a kiss to your forehead just as you feel Taehyung’s hands wiping your tears away and Seokjin handing you a tissue he created from thin air. “Hoseok said, didn’t he? You could ask us for the world and we’d give it to you without question.”
“We’d burn the world if it means making you happy.”
“But what if I just want you and not the whole world?”
Soft smiles appear upon their faces, softening their features, whispering sincere affirmations of love.
“Oh darling, you already have us.”
“And you’ll have us even after death takes us all away.”
“But…I thought…” with the last remaining tears wiped away, you take a small little glance towards the rose bushes, eyes scattering off with confusion, “doesn’t immortality mean…forever? How would I..-How would we just…leave this world?”
“There is always an answer to everything,” you feel warmth seeping through the palm of Yoongi’s hand when he caresses your face, “and just like the stars that burn bright in the night, lasting for eons on end, they too have their beginning and ending and one day they will burn away as well.”
“Then, technically..you aren’t cursed with immortality?”
“Well technically, yes, but in theory, going against the ways of life means going against the laws of the world, which also means throwing things off balance, so it also means receiving death sentences for throwing off said balance.”
You take a moment to blink, trying to comprehend what Jungkook just said, before simply letting out an “Oh.”
They chuckle at your silence and you feel Jimin ruffle your hair. “Though of course we’d never let anyone touch you, not even the world. There are other ways to leave an immortal life but it’ll happen when we get there so don’t worry your little head off about how everything works.”
“You just have to trust us,” Seokjin agrees.
“You’ll trust us, won’t you?” Hoseok asks.
You take his hands in yours, eyes determined without a glint of hesitation. “I trust you with my life and until death do us part, it is yours to keep.”
Taehyung chuckles at the sentiment before repeating the vow you’ve just spoken. “Until death do us part.”

“Listen, do you want me to punch them?”
Your best friend and co-worker, Ari, spoke from her spot next to you as you two eyed the other workers there. They were all mindlessly staring at their computers or highlighting papers all while they took breaks bringing you down.
You snorted. “No. I don’t want you to get in trouble.”
“It’s just annoying the way they believe they are the most beautiful creatures when their personalities are complete shit,” Ari scoffed out, glancing at you before you two looked away from everyone. You two faced the other way towards the muffins the CEO’s had dropped off early in the morning when no one was there. “Like, I’m all for women power but, fuck that power when it comes to them.”
“Ari,” you chuckled at her words and she shrugged, as if she didn’t say anything wrong. And she didn’t. You just didn’t want her to be the subject of teasing next. “Listen, don’t worry that pretty head of yours. I’m not exactly phased by it.”
“As long as you aren’t,” she looked at you, eyeing the strand of hair you placed behind your ear. “Remember, you are just as beautiful and you are absolutely breathtaking.”
“I’m going to start dating you if you don’t stop.”
“Please, do so,” she winked at you playfully before you two giggled at one another’s words. It was cut short when a voice broke you two out of your bubble.
“Y/n, stop hogging the food, I’m sure you’ve had enough by the way you look,” Ari rolled her eyes when you two turned around to see, Iseul, the woman who will not leave you alone, and Minjun, who bullied you because said woman did so.
“Oh, please, it’s embarrassing that at your age you’re acting so immature,” Ari gave the woman a deadpan stare. “Let’s clear up, too, that your inappropriate work clothes aren’t going to attract the attention of the CEOs.”
“Just leave us alone,” you breathed out, not phased by Iseul’s words. “You clearly are too bored that you’re not minding your own business.”
“You better watch the way you speak to your elders, y/n,” Minjun seethed at you and the way you spoke to Iseul.
“Again, emphasis on the ‘elders’,” Ari smiled sarcastically before grabbing your arm and leading you away. You got stopped, though, when Minjun grabbed your arm rather harshly, his bitten off nails digging into the flesh of your arm.
“You’re nothing here,” he spat out. “This business isn’t for girls that look like you. You and your friend here, if you keep talking to us with such disrespect, I will take this to the CEOs.”
“Act your age,” you glared at him, pulling your arm away from his grip. You and Ari walked away while your dearest friend rubbed the damaged skin. “He really said this business as if we didn’t work on trading products.”
“They probably don’t even realize the stupid words that escape their lips,” Ari shook her head. “But, anyway, with her and his horrible personality, they won’t won’t get anyone.”
“Minjun is so whipped for her,” you pointed out and Ari hummed at your words. “It makes me feel bad when he gets treated badly by her but, when he says stupid stuff like right now, I don’t feel bad. Does that make me a bad person?”
Ari smiled at how kind you were. It was the best and worst trait of yours. You really needed to be the badass woman she saw when you were at the club and a guy tried groping you.
Let’s just say, the guy ended up with a nose that his girlfriend, who attacked you instead, had to pay for.
“I love you so much,” Ari spoke, “but don’t feel bad for a douchebag like him. He put himself in that situation, lovely.”
You hummed in agreement as you sat down by your desk, Ari sitting next to you.
“Are you staying later by the way?” You asked her and she shook her head, sighing in relief.
“Thank goodness I don’t,” she breathed out, placing her hands behind her head. “For the first time, I am going home early.”
“Lucky,” you pouted. “I’m staying late.”
“Poor you.”
She laughed at your pain before you two started on work, working on the things you needed to in order to get out of work quickly.
It wasn’t long before you and your supervisor, Eunji, were the only ones left in the building, both of you giving each other assignments once in a while while bringing one another food or water.
“Y/n!” Eunji spoke loudly from her office room, glancing down at her watch while her bag was over her shoulder and her jacket was placed on her forearm. “Hey, I have to pick up my son from my mother-in-law’s. The documents that you are finishing need to be handed to Mr. Park by 7. His floor is second to last and his assistant is there, tell her about the documents, and she’ll let you hand them to him. I have a folder on my desk and it’s the yellow one. And that’s about it. Can you do that?”
She looked at you and you processed the information before nodding. “Don’t worry. I’ll have them turned in before that.”
She smiled at you. “Thank you so much. I wouldn’t have asked you for this but the documents are important. My son was just feeling fussy so I have to pick him up.”
“Don’t worry, Eunji,” you playfully rolled your eyes at her. “No, go. I’m okay doing this.”
“Call me if you forgot what documents you need to turn in.”
“I will.”
You sighed as soon as she got into the elevator, looking around the building as the sunset came through the windows, alerting you of the time.
You looked down at the documents again after putting music on and pursed your lips before puffing your cheeks.
You really needed to sleep early.
After 20 minutes passed, you glanced at the time. 6:33. You grabbed what you needed before heading towards Eunji’s office, grabbing the yellow document she told you to get on top of her desk.
Walking to the elevator, you moved around in the uncomfortable flats that were starting to hurt your feet since you had been walking around in the beginning of work, being told to do this or that by Iseul. After all, you couldn’t say no since she only got the job because of her persistent mother who donated so much to the company.
You looked up when the elevator made a sound, letting you know it opened. But, you were startled when you saw a man there, jacket on his arm and a black mask on covering the lower half of his face. He looked at you with such piercing, beautiful eyes, staring at you up and down.
You cleared your throat softly, getting in, and glanced at the buttons in front of the man.
“What floor?” The man asked, giving you a look one more time before his hands hovered against the things you were looking at.
“Second to last floor,” you answered, fingers drumming against your arm since you had them crossed over your chest.
“So, you’re going to see Mr. Park?” The man asked and you nodded timidly. He hummed. “Have you ever met him?”
“No,” you shook your head. “This will be my first time. My supervisor is usually the one to drop them off but, she had to leave early so she left these behind for me to hand.”
“You’re overworking, then?” The man questioned next and you pursed your lips before shrugging.
“I guess you could say that,” you replied, sending him a small smile as he continued to look at you here and there. “I don’t mind, though. I like getting my work done even if I have to leave home late and even if I don’t get paid for those hours.”
“What’s your name?” The man hummed once again, putting his jacket on. Once he did so, he placed his hands in his pockets, eyes meeting yours. He arched an eyebrow before sticking out his hand. You glanced between it and his face.
“My name is Y/n,” you answered, shaky hand touching his. Your breath hitched in your throat as his icy hand held yours tightly but soft at the same time. You could tell he smiled by the way it reached his eyes, clearly wanting to tease your reaction. “What’s yours?”
Dramatically, the elevator pinged, and you looked up to see the doors opening.
The man next to you stuck out his arm, letting you go first and you bowed, heading towards the pregnant assistant who was standing up to get a drink. You smiled at her and she did, too, but she focused on the man who came out with you.
“Mr. Park!”
“Hi, Binna,” he bowed and you held in your gasp at who he was. He towered over you, shoulder bumping into yours as he got closer to you, grabbing something from his assistant. He looked at you. “I got it from here, by the way. You should head home, I want you to go eat dinner and be with your family.”
Binna nodded and bowed at your boss. “I will, Mr. Park.”
She turned to grab her stuff and Mr. Park turned, too, the documents handed to him still being held in his grasp. He glanced over his shoulder, tilting his head to the side, instructing you to follow him.
You nodded and did so, bowing goodbye to his assistant, thanking her even if she hadn’t talked to you, but she, nonetheless, did the same.
You walked behind Mr. Park, taking in your surroundings. God, his office was such a spacious place with only his assistant in the front of the elevator, and then having to take another hallway to get to his office.
He opened the door, making you go in first, and he went second, closing it behind him. The heels of his shoes hit the floor as he walked towards his desk, making you gulp.
You breathed in, hoping your awkwardness won’t course through your body and hoping he wouldn’t notice.
“What happened to Eunji?” The man spoke as soon as he sat down. He looked at you and he took off his mask, running a hand over his hair. You tried hiding the way your breath hitched in your throat. He was so beautiful.
You cleared your throat. “She said she had to go pick up her son from her mother in law’s.”
He nodded and looked at you intensely, his gaze burning holes throughout your body. You walked toward him, handing him the documents.
He hummed and grabbed them, his fingertips brushing against the skin of your hand, a surge of goosebumps rising on your arm.
He looked at the documents before fully looking at you, his gaze dropping down your body subtlety that you yourself didn’t even notice since you wanted to get out.
He surprised you, though, once his fingers reached out to grab your arm. His thumb ran itself over the skin where Minjun’s fingers left a bruise, some skin having peeled off, too, but not to the point where you bled.
“Who did this?” He mumbled to you, standing up from his chair to stand in front of you.
You debated whether you should tell him, but you knew he wouldn’t believe you once he tried doing something about Minjun. After all, Minjun was close to Iseul and she had more power than you. You could look like a fool and you’d be fired.
“Um, I did it?” You mentally facepalmed yourself at your tone before closing your eyes and sighing.
He chuckled at your words before glancing at you. He turned around and grabbed a kit nearby, grabbing some things.
“I know it’s not bleeding,” he said, “but I’d rather clean it and put the bandaid on.”
“Oh, you don’t have to, Mr. Park,” you tried to wave him off but he gripped your arm, wiping the skin with an antiseptic wipe.
“I don’t mind, y/n, right?” he looked up at you through his lashes, making you nod. But he arched an eyebrow. “Words.”
“Um, yes, Mr. Park.”
He smiled at your words. “Better.” You looked down at the way he placed a bandaid on your arm and he snorted at the designs. “Hope you like it.”
You looked at it and smiled in amusement, the bandaid having been one of Barbie. You chuckled just like he did, eyeing it before turning to look back at him.
“Thank you,” you bowed your head and he hummed before grabbing another and giving it to you.
“Here, have it,” he said. “I’m pretty sure all of them are Barbie so, enjoy one. If you get hurt and you want a pretty bandaid, come see me.”
“Thank you again, Mr. Park,” you bowed again before walking away.
“Don’t hesitate to come up here if you want to tell me who did that to you,” he spoke up, causing you to freeze in your steps. You opened the door. “I don’t tolerate harassment.”
You nodded. “I’ll tell you. Thank you.”
“Bye, y/n.”
“Bye, Mr. Park.”

“So, he just took care of that for you?” Ari looked at the bandaid in shock, clearly still processing the fact that you had met one of your CEOs. “He even knows how beautiful you are.”
You rolled your eyes. “Shut up.”
“I’m being serious, y/n,” she swatted your arm, looking at you with wide eyes. “If I go up there right now with a scratch, I’m sure he would just ignore me.”
“Not true.”
“Uh, scratch me!” She exclaimed, sticking her arm out. You raised an eyebrow at her, glancing at her and then down at her arm.
“I am not hurting you.”
“You’re gonna hurt me,” she said, furrowing her eyebrows. “I will do anything to prove my point.”
“Oh my god, I’m not gonna even get to scratch you,” you crossed your arms as you stared at your friend, “especially if I’m doing it on purpose.”
“Hmm…”
“Those pants look tight on you,” you two turned to look at Iseul who came forward, a coffee in her hand. Ari smiled at her presence for the first time.
“Hey, Iseul,” Ari started, “did you gain weight?”
Iseul’s head snapped up to look at her and you turned around to grab your coffee, knowing fully well you couldn’t do much to stop your friend. You just stood back and will step in if necessary.
“Excuse me?” The woman asked with attitude seeping through her words. “You shouldn’t be talking to me that way, I will have you fired.”
“I’m just saying,” Ari shrugged. “You’ve been bullying, y/n, for her weight but maybe it’s because you’re projecting.”
Ari tried to hide her smile at coming to feel Iseul grab her arm. She really did take this serious.
“Leave me the fuck alone, Ari.”
Iseul’s fingernails did dig themselves into the girl’s arm, blood coming out of the wound. You sighed and grabbed your friend’s arms as soon as the other woman left.
“You’re bleeding, you idiot,” you breathed out, about to grab a napkin if it weren’t for Ari immediately moving away from your grip.
“I’m going to ask Eunji if she has documents to take up.”
Ari left quickly towards Eunji, ignoring the woman’s concern over her evident wound. Ari came out with documents and sent you a thumbs up, heading towards the elevator. You shook your head and sat on the chair by your desk, watching the elevator stop on the floor you were at yesterday.
It didn’t take less than five minutes for Ari to come down, a grin on her face. You stared at her, unfazed, before your eyes came to set on her arm.
“He didn’t take care of me like he did to you yesterday,” she smiled triumphantly, like as if she did something amazing. Her face then morphed into one of pain when she finally registered her wound. “Fuck, give me a bandaid.”
You already had it out, knowing she was already going to ask for it. She smiled before you two went back to work, doing the assignments due.
A couple minutes ago, Jimin Park sat by his desk, thinking about you.
In fact, he didn’t know why he was thinking about you. He never payed attention to any of the people who worked for him and the others, but why did he help you yesterday?
There was something about you. And it wasn’t the way your pants fit on your figure and the way the blouse looked so pretty on you. You were attractive, but those eyes of yours who looked at him in a way many didn’t look at him.
Every woman he’s come across immediately came onto him. Even people who worked for him. Boundaries were never set and they only saw him as an attractive man who they assumed can win over.
They would sit on his lap like he couldn’t say no. His silence, in their mind, was an invitation. And he hated being seen as an object.
So, when your innocent self came into the room, he noticed. He noticed the way you awkwardly stood and looked around, the way you only handed him documents, and he knew that you were there for innocent matters.
While he was thinking about you, a knock was heard from his door, and he looked down at his papers.
The door opened and he looked up before coming across a woman that pursed her lips, documents in hand. He looked back down, sticking his hand out, and feeling the documents she gave him on the palm of his hand. She stood by his desk, waiting for him to speak.
“Is there anything you need?” He asked, his gaze not leaving his work.
“No, sir. Is there anything you need?”
He glanced to the woman with a deadpan expression and shook his head. “You can go.”
She nodded and bowed, leaving, but he noticed the wound on her arm.
She could put a Band-Aid on her own arm.

before & after

“Jimin likes a girl.”
Taehyung and Namjoon looked at Jungkook as soon as his comment escaped his lips, their food being placed on the table in front of them.
“What?” Namjoon questioned, raising an eyebrow at the blonde-haired man who froze in his spot. “What do you mean you like a girl?”
Jimin sighed and he glared at Jungkook before looking away. He eyed the men in front of him who were giving him a stern look.
“Look, I’m not in love with her.”
“Let’s not forget this is how it started with—” Taehyung got caught off by Jimin’s annoyed tone. He leaned back against his chair.
“I know,” he said. “You don’t need to remind me. But she’s different! She’s not like her at all, I’m serious. She’s much more than that old hag.”
“That’s enough,” Namjoon stepped in between the two, noticing that their stare off was going to cause an argument. He didn’t need them arguing in a room full of people. “Listen, Jimin, you can have an attraction, whatever, but I know Jin is gonna deal with this the hardest. Do not tell him.”
“You shouldn’t give her the satisfaction of us not being able to let in another person because she left,” Jimin argued. All three eyed him. “You can all feel that we’re missing something, someone. It’s not just me.”
“What do you think?” Namjoon looked at Jungkook as he ate his food, acting as if he didn’t put Jimin on the spot.
“I met her,” Jungkook explained. “She seemed nice. Very awkward. Very… quiet. She gets harassed at work, won’t even snitch. It’s very obvious who does it but, we can’t do anything without catching that person on the act.”
“Hmm…” Namjoon hummed. “Send her up to your office when I’m there. I want to see her.”
“I want to see her, too,” Taehyung piped in rather excitedly, a smile on his face. “I want to see how beautiful she is.”
“She is stunning,” Jimin described. “You should see her eyes. After everything we’ve seen and done, I’d want to see her eyes after everything.”
Namjoon eyed the way Jimin spoke, his eyes glistening at even mentioning the girl. He wondered but, he knew he and the boys had to guard themselves. They couldn’t let themselves be hurt again.
During the next day, you came to work with Ari right by your side. She always liked heading to work with you and always made sure you ate a proper breakfast since you would not eat anything at work. Iseul and Minjun were to blame.
“My mom has been waiting for you to come over,” Ari said. “Wants to introduce you to her new recipe. But, it’s not really a new recipe. She just added a new seasoning.”
“Ugh, your mother’s food makes me want to die and reincarnate into a new person so I could taste it like it’s the first time,” you groaned out before jokingly slapping the wall by the button of the elevator since it was just you two.
“And then my aunt is asking for you, too,” Ari bit into her cookie. “You know how much she thinks of you as her daughter.”
“She is like my mom,” you shrugged, going inside the elevator with Ari, pressing the button for the floor you two work on. “Swear, having mommy issues really does make up for it when I have wonderful women loving me.”
“Your mom sucks ass,” Ari shook her head. “She really dislikes you because she projects her own insecurities to you. Like, she really said, ‘my daughter isn’t the weight I want her to be, I’m going to mistreat her’, and that’s stupid.”
“Mother’s.”
“Are we talking about how terrible mothers can be?” Eunji spoke up as soon as you and Ari came into her office to drop off the coffee she liked from her favorite café. “Because, I’ve met so many terrible mother’s.”
“I have a terrible mother, have you met her?” You smiled sarcastically, grabbing a donut your supervisor offered you both. “But, anyway, was the plan for today?”
“Don’t you need to go to Mr. Park’s office?” Ari nudged your shoulder, wiggling her eyebrows in a teasing manner.
You puffed your cheeks and nodded. “Do you have any documents, though, to turn in?”
“No, I turned in everything yesterday after you two left,” Eunji answered, glancing down at her computer before looking at you. “Yup, he asks for you right now.”
“I’m going, I’m going.”
You turned around and left, heading towards the elevator. Doing the usual routine, you walked towards Mr. Park’s assistant, smiling at her.
“Good morning, Binna,” you greeted, having read her name by her desk. “I’m here to see Mr. Park.”
“Good morning, y/n,” she smiled back at you, “and go ahead. He’s already waiting for you. He’s joined, though, by Mr. Jeon and both Mr. Kim’s. Thought I’d let you prepare.”
You furrowed your eyebrows at the added names and mentally screamed at yourself to not be too awkward. You wouldn’t be able to sleep if you did anything embarrassing.
“Thank you, Binna,” you bowed and left, heading towards the door of the office and opened it, poking your head in to make sure who you were going to be facing. “Um, Mr. Park?”
A head perked at your voice and the others turned to look at you, staring you down as you stepped forward.
“Y/n!” Jimin smiled at you. “Now, you know why I called you up here, right?” You nodded. “Mmm, good. So, let me see your arms.” You extended your arms and he eyed them, tracing the skin with his ring-clad fingers. “By the way, this is Namjoon,” said man smiled a little at you and bowed his head, “and Taehyung.”
Taehyung simply waved before placing his hands on his thighs, leaning back against the couch. Jungkook curtly nodded his head when you looked at him, continuing to read the documents he was staring at.
“Hello,” you smiled at them.
Namjoon eyed you and the way the blouse hugged your curves. But, Jimin was right. Your eyes, he noticed those first. Though it wasn’t a big deal, it was nice to see someone look at them like they’re normal human beings.
“Okay, you’re all set,” Jimin nodded at you, his hands lingering on your forearms. “Come see me at the end of the day.”
“Yes, sir,” you breathed out, feeling nervous at the intense stare down both Namjoon and Taehyung were giving you. You could feel the way their eyes burned holes into your body and you could see that they wouldn’t look away. “Um, is there anything else?”
“Nope,” Jimin shook his head. “We’re all set for today. Just send up some documents later on. Eunji already knows.”
“Okay,” you nodded. You slightly puffed your cheeks as you glanced at each one of your bosses. “It was nice to meet you two.”
“Likewise.”
You cleared your throat and walked away, immediately hurrying up so you could get out of the hot room that was suffocating you little by little.
You closed the door behind you and walked away towards the elevator, waving at Binna one last time before the doors closed.
As you made it to your floor, Ari was already waiting for you, a smile on her face.
“So?” She questioned, wrapping her arm around yours as she led you towards your desk. “How was it?”
“I met two of our other bosses,” you answered. “They were very attractive but, they made me so nervous. They just kept staring at me.”
“Because you’re beautiful, duh,” Ari commented. “Look, just be careful okay? I heard a couple of… rumors that they might be involved with the wrong crowd. I wouldn’t have cared but, it seems that Mr. Park has taken a liking to you.”
“Yeah, I’ll be careful,” you smiled reassuringly at your friend. “But, hopefully they’re just rumors.”
As the day continued, lunch arrived rather quickly surprisingly. You and Ari were in the lunch room, eating the food Ari’s mother had made you both.
“You should get a cat,” Ari started. “I would definitely go to your house even more if you had a cat.”
“Wow, not even for me?” You gasped dramatically, holding onto your chest. “That’s fucked up. I do nothing but love you.”
Ari snorted. “Shut up.” You chuckled and continued eating as you listened to her. “You give me cat person vibes so, you should definitely get one.”
“I would want to,” you said, “but, I can’t have pets in my apartment. The owner is allergic to every kind of animal so, he’ll sneeze from a mile away.”
“Fuck him!” Ari exclaimed, causing other workers to glance at you out of annoyance. “We’ll keep the cat hidden and when he does a house check, I’ll take her away.”
“We?” You questioned her voice of words, smiling a little at her. “But, I’ll think about it. Having a pet wouldn’t be bad.”
“I’m telling you,” Ari said, standing up as she had finished her food. You followed quickly behind, your tray in one hand and a drink on the other. “Get a cat and name it after Mr. Park.”
You giggled at her choice of words before you were blocked by two people.
“Oh, God,” you sighed, rolling your eyes as you stared at Iseul and Minjun. “What do you two want?”
“Back away from Jimin and Jungkook,” Iseul glared at you. “They don’t care about you so, stop being weird and leave them alone.”
“Okay?” You confusedly questioned before Ari stood by your side. “They’re not yours so I don’t see why I have to “back away” from them.”
Iseul stepped closer. “Stay away from them, you fat bitch. You’re not pretty, you’re not anything. Everyone here hates you and I can’t wait until Jimin and Jungkook see the whale that you are.”
You would normally cower away from her words but lately, you have just gotten annoyed at the way she spoke.
“You bullying me is very elementary school of you, Iseul,” you commented. “It’s embarrassing of you thinking that you can easily insult the way I look and I’ll automatically be on my knees begging to look like you.”
“Minjun, stop being Iseul’s little bitch, yeah?” Ari sarcastically smiled at the man and he stepped forward, too.
“Shut the fuck up, Ari,” Minjun glared at her.
Ari shrugged. “You know I’m right.”
Minjun headed towards you, grabbing your arm tightly. “You and your bitch friend need to shut up. Iseul is right. Our bosses do not give a shit about you so stop acting like they do. No one would ever see you as anything but a whale trying to fit into clothes that don’t fit her.”
Every co-worker there laughed at his words and you simply stared at him, knowing that the bruise he would leave on your skin would be an issue later on.
Ari deviously smiled at the way Minjun left his finger marks behind on your skin. Surely now, he would be fired for harassing you.
“Now, you pig,” Iseul smiled at you, “stay away from them. They want me. I’m to be their future wife and my mom is making sure I am. Before you know it, I’ll be your boss.”
She and her minion walked away, leaving you to look at the skin of your arm, watching it turn red.
“Mr. Park is not going to like that,” Ari commented, shaking her head. You two walked away from the lunch room. “Sometimes, I want to punch that stupid mouth of hers. She’s so delusional.”
“It hurts much more this time,” you whined, resting your head on her shoulder. “Kiss it better, Ari.”
“Stop,” Ari chuckled and waved you off, making you laugh with her. “But hey, don’t listen to her. You’re not a whale or a pig and your body looks hot as hell in the clothes you wear.”
You smiled at your friend’s words. “Thank you, Ari. It fucking hurt a lot. Does it look bad?”
“Yep,” Ari nodded, inspecting the new wound. “Shit, you’re even bleeding a little. Mr. Park won’t like that, you know?”
“I know,” you breathed out before shaking your head. “He’s gonna want me to tell him. I can’t…”
“Look, don’t be afraid of Iseul,” Ari tried her best to reassure you. “She doesn’t give a crap about Minjun so, just snitch on him.”
“I can’t just snitch on him,” you told her. “If he gets fired, everyone will know it’s me and then the bullying will get worse. I’m already drained from all of the harassment now, I can’t imagine later on when everyone realizes that I snitched on one of their own, as stupid as that sounds.”
“Hey, if it gets worse, I’m being serious by the way,” she grabbed your shoulder and shook it gently, “tell Mr. Park. You know he already has your back.”
“Yeah, until he realizes that Iseul is the one doing this to me,” you stressed out. “Iseul’s mother is friends with them. It’s scary.”
“Well, she claims they are,” Ari rolled her eyes at the mention of the girl. “We don’t know they’re relationship but, Mr. Park and Mr. Jeon didn’t seem entirely thrilled when she interrupted them when they were with you.”
“Hmm…” You thought about it before slowly nodding your head. “Yeah, I should test the water first. I should briefly mention Iseul to Mr. Park.”
“You should,” Ari nodded, drinking from her water bottle. “Just try to see what their relationship is like. If you get that feeling that they’re friends, don’t say anything yet. Let them catch her in the act.”
“You’re right.”
As the day went on, it was finally time for you to face Mr. Park in his office.
You did the usual routine: heading towards the elevator, pressing the button where Mr. Park’s office was at, waiting anxiously, greeting Binna, and standing in front of the door nervously.
You went in and saw him looking down at his watch before his head snapped towards hearing you open the door. You smiled a little at him.
“I was waiting for you,” he chuckled a little, stepping forward until he was right in front of you. He grabbed your arm, the one that Minjun didn’t hurt, and you felt the way his fingers gave you shivers. They were so cold.
“You shouldn’t be waiting for me,” you told him. He looked at you under his lashes before smirking.
“And I won’t listen to you,” he said, grabbing the other arm. His smirk immediately disappeared as soon as he eyed the finger marks, the ones that been bleeding again after you cleaned them. “Who did this?”
“Look,” you started, not looking into his eyes, “I appreciate your concern but, it will get worse if you do fire that person…”
“Is there a group of people who are harassing you?” He arched an eyebrow at you, his face so serious it scared you. You tentatively nodded. “I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen. I don’t tolerate bullying or harassment in my company, especially my division. If you don’t tell me who it is, I will tell Namjoon.”
You gulped. You knew Namjoon and your other boss, Jin, were the main bosses. Yes, there were the other 5, but they had much more control and superiority over every worker since they were much more serious. Namjoon took care of the company well and the workers, and Jin had the idea of creating BTS Inc. which then expanded to an idea helped by the others.
“Fine,” you breathed out, not wanting the issue to get any bigger. You sighed, closing your eyes, before opening them to make eye contact with Jimin. “It’s Minjun.”
“Mmm, that asshole,” Jimin chuckled lowly before pressing on the phone by his computer. He tapped some buttons before it rang and Binna’s voice was heard. “Call security and tell them to go to Eunji’s floor. Then, call Eunji and tell her that she needs to let Minjun know he’s fired.”
“Yes, sir.”
He hangs up and you look at him nervously. He sighed at the way you played with your fingers and he grabbed your hand, making you sit on his chair even though there were others.
He grabbed the same box he had grabbed the first day you met him, taking out a wipe to wipe away any remaining blood on the wound. You scrunched your nose in pain and watched him place a bandaid on it. The Barbie one.
“Can I ask you something?” He hummed in response, staring at you. “Are you and Mr. Jeon friends with Iseul?”
Jimin made a thinking face before shrugging. “She’s… the daughter of someone we know. Her step-dad is one of our great friends, she just… associates herself with us since she’s seen us so many times. Why?”
“I was just curious,” you shrugged next. “Especially since she approached you and Mr.-”
“Just call him Jungkook, flower,” he chuckled at your words, smirking in satisfaction as he heard the way your breath hitched at hearing the name he gave you. “What? You like that name?”
You cleared your throat softly and ignored the way your body warmed up at the name. “Um, but yeah, I was just asking since she approached you two.”
“Mmm,” he grabbed a chair and placed it beside you, taking off his blazer. “Well… I can’t say much but, Iseul just associates herself with us when we don’t want to… associate with her, you know?”
“Yeah, I get you,” you smiled a little at him and he smiled at you, too, his head tilted to the side a bit. “I’m sorry for asking. It’s none of my business.”
“Don’t worry, I don’t mind answering,” Jimin leaned back. “Iseul is not exactly one… for this type of work, but her dad wanted her to experience hard work and to be paid, and he asked a favor. I just wish she tried at least, to put in the hard work. But, are you friends with her?”
“No?” you squinted your eyes at him, making him raise an eyebrow at the way you sounded unsure with your own answer. “Complicated.”
“Listen, if she’s doing anything to you, you tell me, okay?” He grabbed your hand and you looked at your hands, feeling the coldness of his fingers and rings. “Her father might be a friend of mine but I won’t hesitate to step my foot in if she’s doing anything damaging.”
You gave him a tight-lipped smile. “Thank you. It means a lot.”
He smiled at you as if you two have been friends for years.
“I’ll let you go,” he whispered in a way that if he spoke any louder, he would give away any shared secrets. “I’ll expect the same routine tomorrow, okay? I’m checking your arms again.”
You nodded. “I’ll be able to do that. In the meantime, as much as I love the Barbie bandaids, get new ones, please, Mr. Park.”
“Y/n,” he gave you a playful look, “call me Jimin, and I’ll buy you new ones since you asked so nicely.”
You smiled at him and stood up from his chair, turning to leave. He grabbed your wrist before you walked any further.
“Yes?” You turned to face him.
“Have you ate?” He asked and you hummed, nodding.
“My friend Ari makes me eat so I ate lunch, don’t worry,” you reassured him, confused as to why he was asking.
“She makes you?” He raised both eyebrows, almost as if scolding you. You sheepishly smiled. “You better start eating well, flower, I can’t have you fainting on me.”
You wondered if he heard the way your heart sped up, hammering against your chest rather quickly at the way he called you flower. Was this even appropriate? You just enjoyed the moment. You’ll ask Eunji and Ari later.
“Yes, Mr.—” His lips opened, about to correct you again but you immediately caught on to your mistake. “Yes, Jimin…”
“Much better,” he smiled. “You can go now. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“See you tomorrow, Jimin.”
“See you, flower.”

before & after

What the hell did you do?”
Jungkook and Taehyung appeared into the kitchen where Jimin, Namjoon, and Jin were talking in, conversing about the issue that had just happened not so long ago.
Jimin knew that the two would eventually found out what had happened since you texted them regularly, too. He could only imagine how shaken up you are, freaking out about what had happened and the way they killed people.
But the people they killed weren’t innocent. Not when they had kidnapped children for the benefit of their own boss who had wanted money out of the children’s parents. That’s why they had to do what they needed to do when they found out who had made reservations.
“You put her in danger!” Jungkook exclaimed before glaring at Jimin. “You can’t say you have genuine feelings for her when you do this.”
“I had to do this,” Jimin sternly spoke, slamming the counter. “It had to be done. I planned everything for her in order to make sure she was safe, I didn’t plan for her to see me kill someone.”
“It’s not about her seeing you,” Taehyung said, shaking his head. “It’s about her being caught in between of whatever business you two had when she simply wanted a genuine apology from Jin.”
“I did mean my apology,” Jin breathed out, staring at his partners. He couldn’t help but go back to Jungkook’s words, glancing at Jimin. “You like her?”
Jimin sighed and closed his eyes, rubbing the skin of his forehead with the fingers that contained the rings you always played with. “Why are you two even awake? You’re usually asleep by this time.”
“We’re going to see her,” Jungkook answered, picking up a jacket he had left on the couch. “She doesn’t want to be alone, especially because someone followed her home.”
“Someone followed her home?” Namjoon asked, his brows furrowing together and Taehyung hummed. “I warned you both if she was seen with any of you, she will be targeted. I warned you, did I not?”
“Look, at least we managed to get some of them,” Jin defended himself and Jimin. “We have been on their asses for so long and we needed to do this in order to get what we lost. We cannot let a girl step between us and our business.”
“That’s the problem,” Jimin breathed out, placing his hands on the counter that allowed him to set his weight on them, “she’s not just a girl to any of us, Jin. She is so much more. Namjoon is right and you know it, too. She could’ve been hurt, or worst, dead. You saw how kind she is… I saw it when you easily conversed with her.”
Jin didn’t say anything. Namjoon glanced between everyone before he let out a sigh. He turned to look at Jungkook and Taehyung.
“Be careful,” he raised his brows with a stern voice. “I’m serious. Take your weapons and have guards guarding her house. I don’t want you three to be in danger.”
“We will.”
Jimin could only feel such a heavy weight in the pit of his stomach, turning around to head towards the bathroom as quietly as he could since Hoseok and Yoongi were already cuddling and sleeping.
“Is it true?” He looked up and saw Jin’s figure behind him on the mirror. “You like her?”
Jimin knew he couldn’t get away with it so he nodded slowly. “I do… It’s nothing compared to what I felt for Nabi. It’s much more stronger and the connection I have with Y/n isn’t forced at all. I feel as safe with her as I feel with you all.”
“Listen,” Jin mumbled, stepping closer, “just be careful, okay? Do not pressure her into telling you anything. She will most likely not tell you her feelings since she knows you’re with us and she might not want to make any of us uncomfortable. Just be there for her just like you’re already doing right now.”
“You liked her, too,” Jimin smiled at him softly, rubbing the moisturizer on his face, eyeing Jin. “You have to admit, she just radiates such energy.”
“I liked her,” Jin agreed, nodding his head. “She’s a good girl. You see, I agreed with the plan because I didn’t like her and I didn’t care about her, but I see what you see in her. She’s very kind and she’s a great listener, too. I do regret what happened, but it’s better we did what we did or else more children were to be hurt and more people would be dead.”
Jimin couldn’t help but let out a sigh. Jin was right. But he still felt guilty about what you had felt and the feelings you were going through. He can’t shake away the way you looked at him after he found you. He never wished for you to see that part of him so early on when you two had gotten so comfortable with physical touch. Now, he already knew you were going to avoid him or, you won’t talk to him anymore.
He grabbed his phone.
Minnie ❤️ : I’m sorry for what you had to see today. I don’t want to apologize over text since I want you to hear it from my own lips and I want to explain it all so, let’s talk whenever you want ❤️
You stared at the message and you felt such pain in the pit of your stomach. You couldn’t help but already feel bad for telling them to leave you alone but, it was scary what you had witnessed. And it sucked that Jin didn’t mean any of the words he had told you.
You recounted what you had gone through on your way back home and you shuddered, immediately locking everything in your house at the idea of that person coming back.
When you were walking home, then did you notice that Jin’s restaurant was very far from your home. It was turning dark and your heart hammered against your chest once you heard pattering footsteps behind you. You didn’t think much of it but it started making you anxious when you would cross a street and the person behind you would quickly follow. You didn’t need any of this crap since you just saw a person you were close to kill someone right in front of you. You didn’t want to deal with a random person stalking you.
That’s why you called the second person you were close to.
“Hello?”
“Hey, Jungkook,” you said very loudly, glancing at the person behind you. “Hey, so you have my location, right?”
“Yeah, I believe so,” Jungkook hummed and he furrowed his eyebrows once he could tell that you were purposely talking out loud. “What’s going on?”
“There’s a person following me,” you mumbled, loud enough for him to hear. You cleared your throat before speaking loudly again, “But, yeah, just meet me at this restaurant. They know me very well so just meet me there.”
“I’ll be there in a bit. Stay on call with me until you’re in a safe place, okay?” You hummed and silence was heard. “Wait, weren’t you just with Jin and Jimin?”
“I was,” you continued to talk while walking, making sure you were aware of your surroundings. “I just… I just witnessed Jimin and Jin kill people. I don’t care if you’re in it or anything, if you’re in a gang whatever, I just feel very, very scared.”
You heard the silence and heard him letting out a mutter of curses. “Those assholes… I’ll be right there with Taehyung. Please be safe, I’ll still stay on call.”
You could hear him moving on the other line, rustling heard here and there. You could see a restaurant coming up and you recognized it as the one who was close to your house, hurrying your steps in order to reach it and get away from the man who quickly followed behind.
Thankfully, you had seen one of your old friend’s from school. It seemed almost like a miracle when she recognized you and introduced you to her boyfriend. After catching up, you had asked them if they could give you a ride, which they so kindly agreed to. Jungkook wasn’t on call since he heard you with people you clearly knew, but he was still watching your location very closely, making sure that your location was now in the safety of your home.
He had told Taehyung to come with him, both of them heading your way when they encountered the men who put you in a bad situation.
After that encounter, they headed your way. It didn’t take long and they both told their bodyguards to guard the house while they went to be with you, their guns on the side of their waists, waiting to be taken out if they needed to be.
“Angel,” Taehyung knocked on the door, alerting you.
You quickly went to open the door and they looked at you, eyeing your expression and if you were in any type of harm. As Jungkook opened his mouth to talk, you cut him off, your arms going around his neck as he was the one closest to you, giving him a big hug.
He could feel you shaking in his arms and he knew you wouldn’t let go, so he raised you in his arms, your legs going around his waist with his hands resting underneath your thighs.
Taehyung nodded at the look he was given by the youngest, closing the front door, and opening the door to your room since it had a pendant on the front that alerted them it was yours.
“Hey, you’re okay,” Jungkook rubbed the skin of your thighs, the shorts that you usually wore to sleep riding up a bit. “You’re safe. You have us.”
“It was so scary,” you mumbled into his neck, feeling him place you down on the middle of your bed. Taehyung followed after, taking off his shoes and sweater as he went to sit by your side, pushing away hair that fell on your face. “I just wanted to enjoy dinner with Jin since he’s your guys’ boyfriend and I wanted to make sure he was comfortable around me.”
“I know, baby,” Taehyung muttered, running a hand over your hair softly. You ignored the way his new nickname for you made you feel. “Listen, we want to explain everything but we need all of us to explain it to you, okay? I know you don’t want to see Jimin or Jin but you’re going to have to talk to them in order to understand what’s been going on.”
“I want to give you a warning,” Jungkook spoke as he was also taking off his sweater, his tattoo sleeve catching your attention as you didn’t think his entire arm would be filled with art, “Jimin will try to talk to you. Yes, he’s going to tell you he’s sorry and he’ll give you time but Jimin is very… attached. He will come to you personally and apologize.”
“Should I be worried?” You frowned and Jungkook chuckled, shaking his head, laying down next to you.
“No,” he said. “Also, um, Namjoon was there so, expect him to apologize to you, too.”
“I just want to ask something,” you breathed out and they both looked at you since you were sandwiched between them. “Are you guys in a gang…?”
Taehyung snorted and he shrugged. “I will say this but I need your phone.” You gave it to him and he shut it off, you three watching it shut down. “We’re in a mafia. I know it’s not an easy thing to say or to process, but it’s been something we’ve been part of for years now and that’s why you saw Jimin and Jin kill someone.”
You stayed quiet and they leaned a bit forward in synch to make sure you were okay. You looked off in shock, mouth agape while your breath moved up and down.
“Oh, my God,” you whisper, glancing between the two. “Oh, my God!” You ran a hand over your face. “Are you guys going to be killed?”
Jungkook grabbed your hand. “No, angel. I’m pretty sure we’re not going to die. Listen, we’re telling you because the man that followed you might’ve seen you with one of us and took the chance to get you. From now on, you’re coming with either one of us, okay? We’re not going to let anyone harm you, especially if it’s because of us.”
“I could’ve died?” You exclaimed and Taehyung grabbed your other hand, kissing the back of it, something he would usually do to the others if they were ever stressed. “I’m going to die.”
“Don’t think like that,” Taehyung hummed, softly glaring at you. “You’re not doing to die. But please, take some guards right now to check on you and your house. It’ll help us feel better or we’ll sleep here and take turns.”
“I’m still processing the news you just dropped on me,” you muttered, looking at him from under your lashes and he softly smiled at you. “You look like you don’t harm a fly.”
He chuckled. “I’ve done worse. But, I don’t want you to see us in that light, okay? Jimin and Jin did a big, big mistake by allowing you to be in that situation, vulnerable. I know all you wanted was an apology from Jin.”
“Well, yeah,” you nodded, looking straight ahead as they situated themselves in a position where they could fully pay attention to you. “It made me uncomfortable being told that I made everything up just to get money from you all. I had been dealing with Iseul’s harassment since I started this job and at the end, it got out of hand because she saw me with Jimin.”
“Iseul was and is a bitch,” Jungkook huffed and you looked at him, his eyes meeting yours. “Sorry, it’s just… we have known her for years. She used to bully half of us but she took it out on me and Jimin the most. When we started growing our business more and more, she wanted to be included in our relationship, which is why her stepdad compromised with us.”
“We didn’t want Iseul to work in our company,” Taehyung continued. “But, her dad’s own business was lacking and no one knows this but, he started going bankrupt. He’s a nice guy, a nice mentor, so we gave his stepdaughter a chance to work with us while he was given some of our shipment to sell.”
You sighed and got closer to Taehyung, your face resting on his chest. He smiled at your affectionate side, glancing at Jungkook who had a faint of a smile on his lips.
“Go to sleep,” Jungkook whispered in your ear. You nodded and he wrapped an arm around your waist, their warmth lulling you to sleep. “We’ll talk more tomorrow if you want. You dealt with a lot today, angel.”
“Goodnight, baby.”
It wasn’t long before you went to sleep, soft snores escaping your lips. Jungkook watched as Taehyung moved, trying to grab his phone.
“You’re going to wake her up, Tae,” Jungkook said, continuing to watch his movements with amusement. Taehyung simply didn’t respond, letting out a small “aha” once he got the object he was looking for.
He stuck it out in front of him, taking a picture of his chin and you sleeping on his chest. He grinned once he saw how cute you looked, chuckling a bit deviously as he sent it to Jimin.
My love ❤️: your fuckups made me a lucky man. I get to cuddle her haha 🫵🏼🤣
Jungkook laughed a little at his words, his eyes trailing down your face. His slender fingers moved the strands away from your face, smiling a little at the way you scrunched your nose when your hair tickled it.
“She really is beautiful,” Jungkook mumbled as if he and Taehyung were sharing secrets amongst themselves, bodies molding with yours as if they were missing pieces of a puzzle. “I don’t even want to taint her with the evilness that comes with this job.”
“As kind as her soul is,” Taehyung started, “I know there’s a crazy spirit inside of her. After telling her what we are apart of, she didn’t look at us like we were monsters. If anything, she’s worried about us dying instead of us killing others.”
Jungkook nodded and let out a breath, continuing to watch you. His hand ran itself on the skin of your arm, noticing the goosebumps rising in its wake. He just watched.
Yes, you two have texted, but it was never enough in his opinion. There were sent here and there on an occasion, but it wasn’t a lot. He could tell you preferred talking because as soon as he would be in Jimin’s office and you were there, you would chat and it was enough for him.
He knew your troubles, personally. The mother who shouldn’t have the title of one and the sister who lived in the States. Your father, he knew, wasn’t one to be in the picture, but you had told him that despite your father having another family, he reached out once in a while to check up on you.
He also knew your favorite color. You wore it as a nail polish that he noticed you always chipped. You wore the color usually on Friday’s and you usually wore your hair down on that day, too.
He noticed you but Jungkook was quiet. He eyed details and let his mind run but not his mouth. He enjoyed everything around him in silence and wore a face that showed no emotion in order to not let people break him away from his thoughts. You didn’t know that he noticed such things, but that’s why he always stared at you.
He loved staring at you.
And that was his last thought, the thought of wanting to know every single thing about you while his fingers itched to touch every single part of you.
You woke up the next day to such warmth. Your body was heating up and the blanket over your body wasn’t helping.
You opened your eyes and suppressed the gasp threatening to escape your lips once you saw Jungkook’s face directly in front of yours. A hand of his was on top of your hip while Taehyung who was behind you had his arm wrapped entirely around your waist, palm resting neatly against your stomach.
You relished in the comfort of their bodies close to you and closed your eyes, but before you knew it, fingers touched your face. You opened your eyes and Jungkook’s own met yours, a small smile forming on his face.
“Good morning, angel.”
“Good morning,” you mumbled, a smile also forming on your lips.
“Did you sleep well?” He asked, moving the strand that fell on your face behind your ear. You nodded.
“I slept like a baby,” you responded. “You guys are so warm so I felt like I had a heater on and it was so nice. Thank you for staying with me.”
“It’s nothing, pretty girl,” he said and he moved from his place, standing up. Then did you notice that he wasn’t wearing a shirt, displaying the muscle and scars all over his chest and stomach. His arms flexed as he put on his shirt back on and you looked away, your body aching to stretch so trying your hardest not to wake Taehyung, you caught Jungkook’s attention.
Making grabby hands, he chuckled lowly once he understood what you were trying to do. He grabbed your hands and helped you up slowly, getting your body away from Taehyung’s grasp.
“He’s so strong,” you breathed out, looking down at where your stomach was being held, noticing the marks of the bracelets that surrounded the sleeping man’s wrist. Jungkook agreed and when you turned to put on your slippers, you eyed an object that made you gasp. “Is that a gun?”
Jungkook looked at your line of sight and nodded. “We have to be protected at all times so we both brought guns just in case you were in danger or anything. I’ll put it away if it makes you uncomfortable.”
You nodded and he grabbed his gun, placing it one of the drawers from your nightstand, making sure it wasn’t loaded. He gave you a look and you nodded yet again, turning around to leave your room. He followed quickly behind.
“I can make breakfast,” you suggested before eyeing the figures outside your home. “Are your bodyguards hungry?” Jungkook didn’t respond and you turned to give him a look. “I’ll go ask and you’re going to buy food.”
“Angel,” he groaned and you crossed your arms, giving him a serious expression. Though, he couldn’t take you serious when you just looked so adorable, your face swollen a bit from having woken up and the way you also looked pretty hot in shorts and a t-shirt. He sighed as he watched you leave.
He watched you open the door, sticking your head out. “Are you guys hungry?” They all didn’t say anything, obviously not knowing if they should answer to you.
Jungkook snorted and turned around. “Fine, fine. I’ll go buy breakfast.”
He put on his shoes and grabbed his gun, too, making sure to leave it with one of his guards to hold while he was in your home. He walked out of the house and turned to look at his men.
“Boss?” One of them called out and he looked at him.
“Prep the car,” he simply instructed and the man nodded without question, doing so. Jungkook turned to look at the rest. “Send me your favorite breakfast orders. I got told by such an amazing angel that I need to buy all of you food.”
They all chuckled at his words and the leader of the bodyguards there, smiled. “I’ll send you a message, sir.”
“Look after them and if she wants something, listen to her,” Jungkook pointed back at the door. “She better not get a single scratch on her body under your watch. If I even see a paper cut, your food will be eaten in front of you by another because you will be dead. Got it?”
They all nodded in synch and he hummed, getting inside his car.
You were left in silence and you took the time to sit on your couch, thinking of the events that had happened not so long ago. You slept with two out of seven of your bosses. But not slept in a sexual way, more like they cuddled you until you all went to sleep.
You couldn’t help but feel your body flush, your face feeling warm at the fact that you fell asleep on Taehyung. You remembered resting your head on his chest and knocking out, and you cursed the clinginess that came when you were tired, and the clinginess that so desperately needed to come out. You were way too touch deprived that you liked the way Taehyung and Jungkook grabbed you and took care of you. You liked holding Jimin’s hand. But you also felt bad when you remembered that they were all in a committed relationship, they didn’t need to do any of those things for you. You were pretty sure they were annoyed because no way that they would willingly do it.
“Already thinking so much very early in the day?” You jumped a little at hearing Taehyung’s voice by your ear and you turned your head to look at his figure. He smiled tiredly at you and laid down next to you on the couch, resting his head on your lap. “You two left me all alone in the very cold bed.”
“I’m sorry,” you said, playing with his hair. His eyes closed and you started braiding some strands. “Oh, Jungkook went to buy food.”
“I-” His eyes snapped open, his brows furrowing. “At this time?” You nodded and he grinned. “We’re gonna keep you. He doesn’t like going anywhere especially if he just woke up.”
“Really?” You asked him. He nodded.
“I’m surprised he even woke up early,” he continued, now mumbling since his cheek was squished against the skin of your leg and his eyes were closed because of how comfortable he felt. “He usually sleeps in if it’s a Saturday.”
You continued to watch him as he rambled on, especially about how if no one wakes him, he will not wake up. He later on continued to talk about his family, letting you know that his father was just like him in that sense. He smiled unknowingly when he spoke about his family and you smiled with him. But you immediately stood up once he started clearing his throat.
“You want some juice?”
“No, baby, I’m okay,” he muttered loud enough for you to hear. “I’ll be fine with water.”
“Okay.”
Grabbing what you needed, you tried your hardest to reach for a cup way in the back since you had some in the dirty dishes and you really didn’t want to wash dishes right now. But you really needed to remodel your home again because you were pretty sure you shrunk.
“You’re struggling a bit there,” Taehyung chuckled and you huffed, placing your hands on the counter. Getting yourself up, you immediately grabbed the cups you needed and grabbed more to send some drinks to the men outside. “You’re going to hurt yourself.”
“I’ve done this multiple times,” you waved off his worry, but he was right. Because you dropped a cup directly on the spot where you were going to place your foot on. “Ow!”
“Baby!” Taehyung exclaimed, heading towards you. You grabbed onto your foot, not without placing yourself back on the counter so you won’t hurt yourself anymore. “The day is just starting and you’re already hurt.”
“It could’ve been a lot worse,” you winced and looked away from your wound, feeling a drop of blood trailing down the bottom of your foot. He put on his shoes real quick, walking towards you. “I have a broom right next to the fridge.”
He nodded and grabbed it but your guys’ attention trailed towards the door when it was opened, a bodyguard looking around for any type of threat. He eyed your figure and hid his fear.
“We need a medical kit,” he yelled over his shoulder and he watched as Taehyung grabbed the kit away from his hands as soon as he got the object needed.
“Sir, let me—”
“No,” Taehyung waved him off, grabbing some tweezers that he and the others had used, replacing tweezer after tweezer because of the amount of times they had been hurt with glass.
You winced as soon as the coolness touched your wound. “Am I going to need stitches?” Taehyung shook his head and you let out a sigh of relief. “I should’ve listened.”
“It’s okay, baby,” Taehyung said, his eyesight stuck on your cut in order to take out the small piece of glass stuck in there. “You’re doing great, just be a bit more patient, okay?”
“Yeah, okay.”
He smiled up at you, getting back to what he was doing. But, your guys’ silence was cut off not so long after when you heard a car door slam and the pattering of footsteps heading inside your home.
“What happened?” You both eyed Jungkook’s figure as he stood near you three. His glare traveled to his bodyguard. “I told you very clearly that if anything were to happen to her under your watch, one of you will be killed.”
“Jungkook, I’m fine,” you waved him, smiling when Taehyung hummed in satisfaction, taking out the piece that was hurting you the most. “I was going to serve Taehyung something and the cup slipped. Your guard helped him get the kit or else I would’ve been bleeding out.”
Jungkook got closer to you, hand by your cheek. “Does it hurt really bad?” You thought about it.
“It hurts a little bit.”
“Mmm, come on,” Jungkook placed his hands on your thighs and lifted you with ease, making you wrap your legs around his waist. You gulped at eyeing his tattooed arm and his fingers digging into the flesh of your thigh. “Taehyung will wrap it up, but in the meantime do not walk in it.”
“Deal.”
“We need to watch you at all times,” Jungkook shook his head, placing you on the couch. “You just hurt yourself.” He sighed and watched you. “Do not walk on it. You’ll have us until tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow?” You questioned and they both nodded.
“In the meantime, I need to send Jimin a picture of Jungkook carrying you,” Taehyung giggled, his fingers tapping away on his phone.
“Tae.”
“I’m innocent.”

before & after

Jimin had stayed up.
He couldn’t go to sleep. He didn’t have the chance to do so when you were softly snoring here and there on the other line, making him realize some things.
He caught himself smiling when he heard you mumble incoherent things, letting him know you do talk in your sleep. But, he felt scared once he felt comfort at the fact you were there and he felt scared once his heart sped up at the sound of your breathing.
He couldn’t stop thinking about you. Not when his stomach hurt at the feeling of you ignoring him. It didn’t last very long since you had just ignored him for a few hours, but they felt like years to him. He definitely knew what this meant and it scared him.
“I don’t know what to wear. It’s so scary.”
“Flower, you’ll be fine,” Jimin chuckled on the other side of the phone, finding your ranting adorable since you were obviously nervous about going to lunch with the other men you haven’t properly met. “Trust me. After all, Yoongi is going to be there, too, so you’ll be familiar with another person.”
“I’ve never talked to Mr. Jung and Mr. Kim,” you breathed out, becoming insecure when you saw the way your stomach looked in a tight shirt you swore fit you not so long ago. “Mr. Kim looks scary. He scares me the most.”
“Namjoon said to call both of them by their names, flower,” Jimin softly reminded you, walking towards the car awaiting for him in front of his shared house with the others, phone held against his ear. “He basically threatened to make you feel bad by buying you more stuff.”
“Oh, God,” you sighed, shaking your head. “Is he always like that?”
“He spoils all of us so, just expect him to also do that to you since you have become a bit closer to me,” Jimin smiled as he heard your small groan, clearly not satisfied with hearing about being spoiled. “Just let him. It’s his love language.”
“Are we going somewhere fancy by the way?” You asked, remembering that you hadn’t asked. You eyed the clothes in front of you and he stayed quiet before humming.
“It’s a bit fancy,” he responded and you heard the door closing behind him. “You are going to be introduced to my own restaurant.”
“You have a restaurant, too?”
He chuckled at your surprised tone, grabbing his phone with one hand while the other was placed on top of his thigh, twirling a ring of his between his fingers.
“Yes, I do,” he answered, hearing you huff on the other end, clearly dealing with something while listening to him. “Taehyung and I both decided to do so. It seemed the easiest for us to handle. But, I’m on my way, okay? I’ll be there in a few.”
“Do I wait for you outside or are you gonna come up here?” You asked, rushing to put on another pair of pants.
“I’ll call you, okay?” Jimin hummed, smiling at the way he could hear you murmuring to yourself before you gave him a breathless ‘okay.’ “I don’t want you to be outside for too long. Crimes are going up near your neighborhood so I’d rather you be safe… inside.”
“Really?” You questioned, eyebrows furrowing. “I didn’t know that. Huh… That’s why I heard someone trying to open my door.”
“I-” Jimin’s mind immediately ran with intense thoughts, even at hearing your nonchalant response. “Y/n-”
“You know, there’s been a bit of gunshots lately, too, it’s crazy,” you continued, clearly not as phased as he was and not knowing how your words were worrying him even more about your safety. “But, I can defend myself.”
“We’ll talk more about this when I get there, okay?” Jimin heard you hum now and he let out a sigh. “I’ll get there quickly. I’ll see you, flower.”
He waited for you to say bye and hung up. He dropped his phone next to him and sighed, fidgeting with his bottom lip with his fingers. He really needed you to be safe. What if he offered to buy you a new place? Get you security? What if he put more security in your home? He couldn’t hide the fact it bothered him that you acted nonchalant about someone possibly breaking into your house. Has it happened more than once? It probably has.
Something bad could’ve happened to you and he had to do something about it even if you argued.
Before he could think any further, the car stopped right in front of your house. He noticed the area and got out, buttoning his blazer while walking towards your door. He knocked.
“I thought you were going to call me,” you chuckled as soon as you saw his figure looming over yours. He slightly smiled and looked over his shoulder, making sure his guards were guarding his back. He eyed a man on the house next to yours who was watering his plants, glaring at him almost immediately that caused the man to look away.
“I was but,” he turned to look back at you, smiling, “I couldn’t help but want to see you fast.” You smiled at his words and grabbed your things before closing the door behind you. You eyed the doorknob.
“I need to get a new one again,” you breathed out, shaking your head as you locked your door. Jimin eyed it and saw the object wobbling out of its place and he held in his sigh, tightly smiling when you turned to look at him. “I am starving.”
“Be careful,” Jimin mumbled, placing a hand on the middle of your back, making sure you didn’t stumble over a crack on the floor. He continued to glare at the man watering his garden until the man became uncomfortable and walked away. “You look beautiful, flower.”
“Thank you, Jimin,” you ignored the way your heart hammered against your chest at hearing the compliment escape his lips. You hoped your face wasn’t betraying you by showing him what you were feeling. Thankfully, he didn’t notice when he opened the door for you.
You went in and he continued to look around the neighborhood, eyeing people and making a mental note in his head to have his security do background checks on everyone to make sure you were safe.
“The restaurant isn’t that far from here,” Jimin broke out of his thoughts as he spoke, turning to look at you as you looked out the window. “From now on, one of my guards is taking you home.”
“I-” You immediately shook your head. “No, no, no. I’m okay. There’s no need for that.”
“There is if your doorknob is broken because someone tried getting in,” Jimin pointed out, arching an eyebrow. You sighed and turned your face to look out the window, knowing that if you agreed, you’d feel like complete shit for wasting his and his guards time for something not even important. You felt his hand on your cheek and felt him turn it around so you could see him. You did. He later moved on to grab onto your hands. “Listen, I don’t mind and neither do my guards because they’re getting paid regardless. I want you to be safe in your home.”
“I don’t like this,” you mumbled, a frown on your face. He chuckled and continued to hold your hands against his.
“I know you don’t but I do,” Jimin smiled at you. “It’s for your safety. I don’t want you to be in danger. What if they manage to get inside? Would you be able to hear? Would you be able to reach for a weapon?”
“I have a taser,” you smiled proudly and he snorted softly. “I don’t want you to worry, Jimin. I’m okay.”
“At least let me set up a security system in your home,” he said and you thought about it, knowing that he won’t back down. He seems pretty persistent to get you to be safe and sound in the depths of your home so, you nodded. “Okay, then. I thought I was going to have to get on my knees and beg.”
“Shut up,” you slapped his shoulder and he laughed before settling on grabbing your hand. You tried to pretend like you were going to get rid of a strand of hair with the hand he held, but he held it by his thigh, your entire hand engulfed in both hands. The way his hands felt against yours, the way they felt so cold and soft, it had more of an effect on you than he knew.
“We’re here, sir,” the driver spoke after a few and Jimin hummed, thanking him once he opened the door for him. The driver stepped back once Jimin did so, holding the door for you. He grabbed your hand and guided you towards his restaurant, making you eye the designs once you went inside.
Still holding your hand, he guided you towards the back, ignoring the way people looked at you two as you walked past their tables. It was obvious he was in charge with the fact that he was the only one dressed up in a black suit and was surrounded with bodyguards. You could only try to ignore the looks you received, too.
“There you are,” Namjoon stood up, smiling as he saw you two. He eyed your hands intertwined together and you pulled away. Though, he didn’t seem to mind as he hugged you. “It’s nice to see you again, y/n.”
“It’s nice to see you, too, Mr.-” He backed away and arched an eyebrow, causing you to sigh and smile at him. “It’s nice to see you, too, Namjoon.”
“Much better,” he lowly chuckled before he let Hoseok and Yoongi greet you, turning to look at Jimin as the other two hugged you very tightly. “What was that?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Jimin waved him off and Namjoon shook his head, small laughter escaping his lips. “What?”
“You like her,” Namjoon admitted. Jimin gave him a perplexed look. As he opened his mouth, Namjoon raised his hand, stopping him. “Yeah, yeah, she’s your friend. But… you’re lying to yourself.”
“Shut up…” Jimin mumbled, eyeing your figure as you spoke to Yoongi, who, surprisingly, is talking to you much more than Hoseok.
“How did you found out?” Namjoon spoke in a whisper, eyes meeting his. Jimin pursed his lips.
“I found out last night,” he replied. “When we were on call. I couldn’t sleep so I called her, she stayed on call with me the entire night. I thought about her the entire time as I heard her snores, which are adorable by the way, and I just… I couldn’t ignore them. Not anymore. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologize,” Namjoon placed a hand on his shoulder. “Just know, if she does like you, she will not let you know since you have all 6 of us. But, I’m willing for all of us to get to know her well and get to know her like you do. There’s obviously something special about her.”
“There is,” Jimin nodded, smiling as he saw you bond so well with Yoongi and Hoseok. “It’s just… the way she makes me feel… I don’t know how to explain it. She feels comfortable, in a way. Like she’s been part of my life for so long just like you guys.”
Namjoon continued to chuckle at his words. “You are down bad, Jimin.”
He walked away and Jimin was left with his mouth agape at his boyfriend’s words, clearly not expecting him to say that. You looked at him confused and headed towards him, softly touching his arm.
“Are you okay?” You frowned at him, eyeing his expression. He shook his head, snapping himself out of his shock and smiled at you.
“I’m okay, flower,” he said before standing aside to let you slide into the booth. You did so, grabbing onto the menu in front of you that Yoongi had told you he had placed there since he and the others know what food to get.
As you ordered, you noticed the waiter fidgeting, clearly as nervous as the other waiter you had met in Taehyung’s restaurant. You wondered why but, you hadn’t noticed the glares the boys were giving him, making sure that you were heard.
“And that’ll be all, thank you,” you smiled at the shaking man, though, you hoped that by being even more kind you’ll be able to calm down his very anxious emotions. “Are you okay, by the way?”
“I’ll get to your orders straight away,” the waiter ignored your question and you slumped against your chair, expecting him to ignore you but choosing to believe he won’t. Jimin eyed your figure and he turned to look at his worker.
“Grab him,” he told his guards without looking at them. Yoongi distracted you by making you taste a drink of his, which later had him chuckling when you made a face at tasting the strong alcoholic drink. The waiter appeared again, shaking just as much as before. “Flower asked you a question.”
“Sorry,” the waiter bowed down. You shook your head rapidly.
“No, no, no, it’s okay,” you reassured him. You glanced at Jimin who looked at the man with a straightforward expression, not feeling sympathy. “I was just making sure you were okay.”
“I’m okay,” the waiter answered and he made eye contact with you, a small smile widening on his lips. “Just getting used to talking to more people since I’m not very… social.”
“Oh, I totally understand,” you smiled at the shaken man and waved off his attitude from before. “You’re doing great! Do not worry.”
“Thank you!” The man enthusiastically let out because although he was anxious by the way Jimin and the others glared at him, he was also anxious since it was his first week and he was getting used to socializing. “I’ll bring you your order in a few. Thank you for your patience.”
He walked and when he was out of ear-shot, you turned to look at Jimin with a serious expression. “What was that?”
“What was what?” Jimin shrugged, pretending not to know what you were referring to. You squinted your eyes at him before turning to look at the others, too.
“Stop scaring waiters away,” you scolded them, earning abused looks from them all. “You are scaring them so much they’re shaking.”
“Flower, they need to listen—”
“Nope,” you shook your head and Jimin smiled, resting the side of his face on his propped up hand. “All of you need to stop scaring the poor waiters. I do not care if they listen or not. Let them do their work. Got it?” They all nodded. “Good.”
“That was the cutest thing ever,” Hoseok chuckled, eyeing your face. You simply gave him a look. “You are so adorable. I need to give you a nickname, too.”
“Jimin picked a good name,” Namjoon sighed, feigning a sad expression. “Flower is so pretty.”
“I call dibs on angel,” Hoseok called out, making your face feel warm at the name. Jimin smiled as he sipped his drink, watching your reactions.
Yoongi hummed. “That’s a good one. I’ll call her that, too.”
They all turned to look at Namjoon and you strayed your sight away from them all, not used to so many compliments from such beautiful men. You felt yourself such a lucky person and you wondered what you had done in your previous life to deserve them.
“You’re beautiful, y/n,” Namjoon admitted after a moment of silence. You looked at him and he was already staring at you. “It’s not something new to any of us, we see your beauty. Jimin sees it.” You turned to look at said man and he was hiding his smirk behind the cup he was drinking from. “I’d like to call you either beauty or beautiful.”
“You guys are too much,” you mumbled, placing a hand on your cheek, trying your hardest to get rid of the warmth. Jimin chuckled from beside you.
“Use my hands,” he offered, passing you his ring cladded hand that was indeed cold. You slapped it away softly, receiving another sound of laughter from him.
It didn’t take long before you all spoke and you learned a lot.
Namjoon owned a bookstore in a café shop and he showed you pictures of it. You had to do a double take when you saw the garden that he had created, allowing the customers to enjoy their beverage and book(s) surrounded with nature. He seemed more than just your boss and you wished you had known him since he enjoyed nature and museums very much. He had such a calm soul.
Yoongi had talked about his music shop. Allowing kids, teenagers, and young adults to have a safe space to create their own piece of work. He had told you a story about his past and the hardships he had gone through to get where he was, and you made sure he was comfortable enough to share. He really had a successful business which allowed him to form bonds with some teens he saw himself in. He looked very touched when he told you some stories.
Hoseok had a dance studio. It was open to those who couldn’t afford dance lessons and it allowed him to be able to also form friendships with dancers he danced with on an occasion. He seemed very enthusiastic to share about his life, talking to you about his past insecurities that he had overcome by slowly allowing himself to be loved and letting himself know he is worthy of the love he gets. He also inspired you when he let you know it’s not an easy path to loving yourself, but it’s easy to know and understand the walls you are building around yourself that prevents you from doing so.
Jimin stayed quiet the entire time. He just watched you. He watched you and the way your lips moved as you talked. His eyes traveled to your lips to your eyes, to the way your lashes fluttered against your cheek, to the way you smiled, to the way you placed a strand of hair behind your ear here and there. He couldn’t stop staring at you.
Jimin wasn’t one to fall first. The others fell for him and he fell after, allowing himself to be loved. But here he was, falling harder than ever. He knew they didn’t have an issue when one fell for another person, they were all secure. They would try their hardest to bond with that person, too, but if they couldn’t do so, then the feelings went away as quick as they came, and Jimin saw the way the talked to you was them successfully bonding with you.
“Mind if we join you?”
You all looked at the person who spoke and eyed Jin, Taehyung, and Jungkook standing by your table. You gulped and turned to look at Jimin once you felt Jin’s stare on you.
“Hey,” you whispered to him. Jimin looked at you. “If you want, I’ll go home so you can spend time with them.”
Jimin saw the way Jin looked at you and sighed before shaking his head, placing a hand on your thigh. “Stay. You’re not bothering anyone.”
“I don’t want to make Mr. Kim uncomfortable,” you mumbled, fidgeting on your seat, smiling when Taehyung enthusiastically moved to sit next to you, receiving an annoyed nudge by Jungkook who had wanted to be with you.
“It’s okay, flower. If he talks bad, I’ll take you home.”
“No, I’ll order a ride,” you shook your head, dismissing his gesture and he softly glared at you, not liking how you dismissed your safety.
“I’ll take you.”
Now, Jimin had been avoiding Jin since he had gotten home after the whole situation with you in his office. He wasn’t too happy about the way Jin treated you and made you and him look like liars in front of the guys. He also wasn’t happy at all when Jin made it seem like you were after their money.
“I didn’t expect to see you here,” Jin spoke, catching your attention as he stared at you, receiving drinks quickly along with Jungkook and Taehyung. Everyone quieted down and Taehyung stood straighter beside you. “I’m surprised to see you’d show your face.”
“I’m not a liar like you made me seem so I have no reason to hide,” you shrugged, not daring to look at him as you eyed the way they all looked between you. Jimin had thankfully kept his hand on your thigh, allowing you to play with some fidget rings he had on.
“Hmm,” Jin simply hummed, watching you.
“Stop it,” Namjoon nudged him, raising his eyebrows. “What did we talk about?”
Jin inhaled through his nose. “I’ll try to get to know her but don’t think I’ll like it a bit.”
“Yeah, right.”
Everyone continued to converse, but you stayed quiet along with Jin. You two would speak once in a while when the others would ask questions, but it didn’t take long before both of you went back to staying quiet.
Jimin was tired of it and the way you and Jin immediately quieted down around each other’s presence. He didn’t blame you but, he felt bad when he saw how you were now so quiet when you were just conversing not so long ago.
“I was talking to y/n earlier,” he started, clearing his throat, and everyone turned to look at him, even you, “because someone here could’ve been in danger.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you looked away, taking a sip of your drink. Jimin playfully rolled his eyes.
“Y/n heard someone trying to break in,” everyone now looked at you, “again. I saw the doorknob was broken and out of place. Crimes are rising in her neighborhood.”
“Have you tried moving out?” Namjoon raised an eyebrow at you and you glanced at him.
“I just moved into that new place recently,” you answered. “And I told Jimin not to worry about it. I can defend myself.”
“I don’t doubt it,” Yoongi spoke, “but sometimes things like that can come unexpected and you won’t be able to react in time. Maybe we’ll give you security?”
“I’m okay,” you waved it off before Jimin stared at you with an intense look on his face. You sighed as you remembered your conversation. “Jimin wants to set up a security system.”
“I agree with that,” Taehyung spoke from beside you. Everyone else agreed and they all turned to eye Jin who hadn’t spoken, yet. You didn’t care, though, and played with the ice in your cup.
“It seems better to do that,” Jin shrugged and your head snapped to stare at him. He didn’t meet your eye. “It’s very dangerous that you live by yourself and were almost broken into. The worst thing that can happen is you can get killed.”
“One of us is dropping you off after work,” Jungkook said, making you pinch the bridge of your nose, not liking the way they were wasting time making sure you were safe. You could handle it. Maybe… “I’m being serious, y/n. It’s not safe to go home safe and letting bad people see you live by yourself. Got it?”
“Alright, alright, I got it.”
It didn’t take long before the conversation changed. You and Jin weren’t talking but, you both kept looking up once in a while and made eye contact that had you two immediately look away. It was happening every time you looked up as if he could sense when you would do so.
Before you knew it, it was night and Jimin and Jungkook offered to take you home. It wasn’t long before Taehyung piped in and begged to be taken with you three. You quickly said yes once you saw a pout on his lips.
“I’ll talk to Jin,” Jimin told you, sighing, hand holding onto yours. You hadn’t processed the fact that Taehyung was holding the other tightly against his large hands, playing with your fingers. “And you better call me if anything, I mean if anything, happens, okay?”
You nodded. “I got it.”
Jimin dropped you off at home and left, advising a guard of his to stay behind to watch your house a little longer so you could feel and be safe. You didn’t need to know that information.
“You have to get to know her,” Jimin immediately said as soon as he entered Jin’s office. “You have to get to know her. We all know her.”
“And you all like her,” Jin pointed out. Jimin groaned and sat in front of him. “I don’t mind but, she’s just… it’s just… it’s annoying!”
“It’s fine to find her attractive,” Jimin noted out. “She is attractive and gorgeous. You can’t lie about that to yourself.”
“Listen, I’m sorry for how I reacted,” Jin ignored his comments, withholding eye contact. “It wasn’t right of me to react the way I did.”
“You don’t need to apologize to me,” Jimin said. “You need to apologize to y/n for making it seem like she wanted someone to hurt her for money. I had been watching everything and Iseul was at fault. We can’t excuse her actions simply because her father is our our business partner.”
Jin thought about it and slumped against his chair. “How about this?” Jimin hummed. “I’ll eat alone with her, tomorrow or whenever she’s free, okay? I’ll apologize to her, but I feel like she’ll be more comfortable if you’re there.”
“I was going to be there whether you liked it or not,” Jimin grinned before giving Jin a kiss. “Thank you. You’ll love her once you get to know her. I promise you.”
“We’ll see. I’ll make it up to you tomorrow by bringing you breakfast in bed, deal?”
“Breakfast in bed for two weeks. Then it’s a deal.”
“Fine, deal. Tell Y/n we’ll pick her up after work.”
