“Hello?” you heard Jake on the other side of the line when he answered the phone after the second time it rang. He was waiting for your call just like he did every night.

“Hi baby” you said, voice sounding a little raspy due to waking up from your sleep to call Jake. You cleared your throat before continuing. “How was your day?”

“It was tiring, but I’m back in the dorms now. I haven’t eaten yet. The others are eating right now.” he said, making you frown. He knew you were about to scold him from the deep sigh you left.

“What did I tell you about not skipping your meals Jake? Even if it’s to talk to me.” you said, going to a sitting position on your bed so that you wouldn’t fall asleep again. You heard him chuckle.

“You’re right. I just couldn’t wait to hear your voice baby. Okay, how about this, I’ll switch to video calling and talk to you while I eat, hm?” he suggested. You agreed and opened your camera too. You smiled at how cute he looked after a long day of practice. He looked at his phone screen, a huge smile spreading to his face. He lowered his phone when he strolled to the kitchen where his members were eating. You watched him slurp his ramen while you told him about your day and your upcoming exams. You saw his small smile in between the bites he took from his food.

“Who is he talking to?” you heard Sunghoon ask in the background. “Look at his smile! Who do you think it is?” teased Jay. You watched Jake as he looked at his annoying members, his cheeks reddening. He looked back at his phone’s screen when he heard your small laugh coming out of its speakers.

As you talked until both of you were sleepy, the conversation got more and more sentimental. You can tell where you were going with this. It was about time you guys were about to start talking about how much you miss each other.

Jake wanted to look strong for you because he knew how sad you were, wanting his company every day.

You remembered the last time you held him close at the airport when he was leaving for Korea. Both of you were shedding tears from your eyes while hugging each other tighter than ever. Jake nuzzled his nose to your neck and tried to memorize your scent.

“Don’t come back before making your debut or I’ll fight you” You patted his head and kissed him for the last time before watching him leave with his bags.

“I miss you so much.” you said and couldn’t stop your voice from cracking. You always got emotional at these hours of the day. Jake sighed and tried to collect himself to be the strong one for you.

“I miss you too baby. But we can do this. Distance means so little when you mean so much to me.” he said, making you smile with teary eyes. You sniffed before humming to him in response.

“Even being able to fall asleep underneath the same sky makes me feel your love all around me, you don’t know the things I would do for just one kiss from you right now.” he whispered into the line. You giggled at his attempt at saying sweet things without getting caught by his members.

“I really should go to sleep now. You too. Don’t forget to eat breakfast in the morning. I love you.” you said.

“I love you too. Always.”

You played with the hair on the nape of his neck as Sunghoon tilted his head to kiss you deeper. His hands were placed under your shirt while you were sitting on his lap on the small couch you had in your dorm room.

You felt four more pecks on your lips before he attached his lips to your neck. He giggled on to your neck when he realized you were ticklish. You started giggling too when he pulled away from your neck to look at your face. He brushed your hair back and cupped your cheek with one hand while the other held you close from your waist. You stared at each other for 10 seconds before you jumped at the sound of Sunghoon’s phone going off.

He wasn't in his best state this morning. The pressure of his worries about his future and the possibility of disappointing his parents made him overthink over the night before. He was feeling overwhelmed by the sunrise so he decided to get to his sweet escape as fast as possible. He was on your couch, getting drunk on the sweet taste of your lips and holding you closer than ever before he realized. His worries were long forgotten until he picked his phone up from beside him and saw who was calling.

You tried to read his face and saw his eyebrows furrow. You guessed his mother was calling him. He told you that he ditched his figure skating practice just to come to you as soon as he woke up this morning. You knew that his mother was worried and his coach probably called her. He stared at his phone for 5 more seconds before he declined the call. He put his phone down and his eyes were back on you.

“Are you not going to answer that?” you asked when he was leaning into you once again. He stopped right before your lips touched. You saw his eyes close and he took a deep breath.

“All I want to worry about right now is how I can make you laugh more so that I can replay it in my head when I go back home” he said and pressed his lips back on to your neck. You felt Sunghoon’s shoulders relax as he heard you giggle more at the feeling of his lips on your neck where you were ticklish. He pulled you into a tight hug while he nuzzled his face in the crook of your neck. You felt his smile on your neck while you massaged his scalp with your fingers.

You didn't forget to text his mother later to let her know that her precious son was okay. You did not mention the make-out session you just had though.

You loved your boyfriend. You really did. He looked tough from outside but in reality, he was your precious little -180cm tall- boy, but one thing that annoyed you the most about him was that he was extremely selfless. He always made sure you got the last piece of the pizza, you were always warmer than him because of the jacket he offered to you, and he always found a way to put a smile on your face when things were going a little bit more difficult than usual. This is exactly how you understood something was wrong when you saw Jake entering Jay’s house with a cough drop package on his hands.

Jay texted you in the morning telling you that he was going to be out with his family. You didn’t question at first but now that you saw Jake entering his house, you became suspicious. You decided to give your boyfriend a call and make sure his best friend was not just sneaking into his house while he was out with his family. 

Jay declined the call causing you to raise your brows while looking at your phone so you settled on texting him.

You: Hey honey how is it going with your family?

Jay: Hi baby everything’s alright! Sorry I couldn’t answer your call ☹️

You: It’s okay!!! I was just wondering why Jake was entering your house when you are out with your family 😃

You went to your bedroom to look out from your window where it was right across Jay’s bedroom. His blinders were closed. Strange, you thought.

You knew something was up so that’s how you found yourself knocking on Jay’s door ten minutes later. Jake answered the door and his eyes widened when he saw you standing there.

“What are you doing in here?” you asked while placing your hands on your hips. You watched Jake’s expression and realized you just caught him in the middle of something.

“Hello to you too Y/N” he said while letting you come in. You entered the house while thinking every possible reason why Jake was here. You looked back at him, waiting for an answer to your previous question. He realized how annoyed you were at the moment.

“He really did not want to worry you so he is going to kill me but... Jay is upstairs, he caught a cold and he couldn’t go to the family trip. He needed some cough drops so I came to drop them off for him” Jake explained in a single breath, intimidated by your glare. You relaxed a little, relieved by learning the truth.

“Thank you. I can take it from here.” you said before patting Jake’s shoulder and taking the cough drop from his hands. He smiled and nodded before leaving the house.

You sighed before entering the Park household’s kitchen. You saw a kettle on top of the counter and started heating up some water. You found the tea bags after going through a couple cabinets. You poured the hot water into a mug and placed the tea bag inside the cup. Taking the mug off of the counter, you headed upstairs to Jay’s bedroom.

You knocked on his room’s door before opening it. Jay was laying down on his bed, wrapped up in his blanket and his back facing you. You entered the room quietly and put the mug on his bedside table. You sneaked your arms around his waist while laying down next to him on his bed. Jay woke up to your actions and hoped it was not his best friend Jake who was giving him a romantic back hug.

“Hey, beautiful liar” you whispered into his ear while leaning forward to kiss his cheek. He turned to face you and looked into your eyes.

“I’m sorry for lying to you. I really didn’t want to worry you. I thought you were going out with your friends today?” he said with his raspy voice. You realized why he did not pick up your call. He was suffering from a sore throat and hoarseness.

“How can I leave my baby like this and go shopping?” you cooed, making Jay roll his eyes at the way you were babying him.

You stood up from his bed and brought the mug in front of him along with the cough drops his best friend dropped off.

“I made you some ginger tea with honey, it should be good for your throat. Did you eat anything today?” you asked when he took the mug from your hands. He nodded as an answer to your question and took a sip from the tea you made.

You watched him while he drank his tea. You put your hand on his forehead to see if he was running a fever. He wasn’t. You felt relieved and let your hand fall on to his cheek. He closed his eyes and leaned into your touch a little. He was so cute that you wanted to cry right there. He turned his head sideways to give your palm a little smooch.

“I’m sorry for not telling you that I wasn’t feeling well. Now that you are here, I feel much better.” he whispered onto your lips before giving them a small peck and lying down on his bed with you on his chest.

You could forgive your precious boy for being selfless but you were not going to leave him alone in his bed when he was sick.
