I find this so sad. Like let's take a step back, and look at it just from a nickname perspectives. I am a cis woman, and I experimented so much with screwing around with my name in school. I have awesome parents, would they have signed off on any name i was playing with, yes. Would I have played around at all if I needed to get a signed permission slip to do so, no. Did doing this hurt ANYONE? Also no. Between this, and the hair rules, and the dress code rules, there is just no room for kids to figure out who they are anymore. It sucks!
