Summary: Jokingly hiring an assassin from the deep web to assassinate yourself isn’t really a good idea

Warning/s: self-loathing? just please be warned. nothing too dark… yet. I have no idea how to go on with this story. IDK why it’s called prologue, idek if this is going to be a series.

You didn’t know why you did it. At first, it was a joke but after paying, you knew you were done for. Maybe it was the weight of everything that’s been happening with your life. Maybe it was the cluelessness of what’s to be your future. Maybe it was the way that your parents made you feel irresponsible and everything just tackled you at once and you’ve just about McFuckin had it.

 You tried to access the deep web out of curiosity and boredom but when you got to a page where there were lists of hitmen and hitwomen, your mind went into a frenzy. What if you hired one and paid them to target yourself? Wouldn’t that be fun? You helped them earn money and you helped yourself end your suffering.

 Pfft

 It seems like a wack idea but why the fuck not?

 You scrolled through the list of hired murderers when one name caught your attention.

 “The Winter Soldier”

 With a tilt to your head, you clicked on his profile and read through it.

 “Wow” you whispered as you read through his profile and not gonna lie, his metal arm was cool as fuck and what better way to die than to be killed by a real-life super villain-hitman of some sort.

 You made to enter your name in the box where the word “target” was written and wrote your full name then went to check out and paid the price. A little pricey but you literally have nothing else to lose.

 After clicking the ‘confirm’ button, your screen went black and you sat there with an unimpressed look.

 “Of course.” You scoffed. As if your life wasn’t doing bad enough, you’ve just been scammed. You tilted your head back and groaned, not knowing that your webcam has been recording your every move and a certain super villain-hitman has been watching your every move.

You groan as you watch Amber and the guy she’d just met grind on the dancefloor. You weren’t one for clubs on a normal basis, what with their overwhelmingly thick smell of Alpha’s and the atmosphere that made you distinctly feel like you were at a hunt and as an Omega, you were the prey. But it was your old college roommates Birthday and you’d let her drag you out.

She’d abandoned you now, some mega-hot alpha had sidled up to her not even fifteen minutes ago and they were already all over each other. You sigh and stir your sixth drink of the night. Good for her.

“Hey, can I buy you a drink?” The voice or the question doesn’t surprise you, and you don’t make a point of looking to the male now pushing up into your space.

“I already have a drink.”

“You could have two.”

Finally, you look at the guy. He’s attractive, but not really your type. Besides, you had absolutely zero interest in going home with some guy. Especially with how tipsy you were. Maybe a little drunk.

“I don’t need two. Thanks though.” You do your best to turn your back to him and you hear him scoff.

“Fuckin’ frigid Omega bitch.”

Steve knew he didn’t have much time left.

He felt it in his heart, in the very core of his soul that his life was coming to an end. Old age eventually catches up to everyone and despite all the suffering he’s been through, he could only wait. He was laid there on his hospital bed, waiting as time ticked away second by second. His children and their family were just outside the room, talking to the doctors and trying to see if they could do anything to prolong his life. If there’s anything more they could do. The Barnes’ were here too. You were here too.

The ironic part was, he didn’t really want more.

Steve was tired.

He was so very tired.

He wanted to rest. To finally go into sleep and never wake up. He wonders if it’s anything like the time he first woke up from the ice. If by the time he passes, he’d open his eyes to blinding light or if he would just drift into nothingness. If there was a Heaven, and he wasn’t sure if there was anymore or if he was even qualified to be in there, what image would greet him?

Would he see Peggy? The Commandos? Would he see his mother? His father? All the people he’d lost? Would he see you?

God, he hoped he would.

You wake up feeling warm and content. The first thing you notice is the warm breath on your neck and shoulders, Steve’s face shoved into the crook of your neck. His arms are around your middle, holding tightly, and you’re both curled around each other like perfect puzzle pieces.

The second thing you notice is that he’s hard.

In the moments before your brain fully registers your surroundings, in the place between asleep and awake, you feel Steve’s length pressing into you and you wiggle your hips back into it, making him moan a little in your ear. Your Omega instincts go into overdrive and you press your ass into him even further before your mind catches up to you and you realise what you’re doing.

You freeze and take a moment to take inventory of your current situation. You had fallen asleep with Steve in your room, in your nest. He’d also evidently fallen asleep at some point, and now you were cuddling, with his dick sticking into you, obviously after more stimulation. The fact that you’d even managed to fall asleep with someone so close to your nest, someone in your nest was absolutely insane to you.

But, Steve technically was your Alpha… maybe it was supposed to feel that natural. You feel safe around Steve, he’d never hurt you, and so perhaps that already present trust was tenfold now that you were bonded.
