Summary: Jokingly hiring an assassin from the deep web to assassinate yourself isn’t really a good idea

Warning/s: self-loathing? just please be warned. nothing too dark… yet. I have no idea how to go on with this story. IDK why it’s called prologue, idek if this is going to be a series.

You didn’t know why you did it. At first, it was a joke but after paying, you knew you were done for. Maybe it was the weight of everything that’s been happening with your life. Maybe it was the cluelessness of what’s to be your future. Maybe it was the way that your parents made you feel irresponsible and everything just tackled you at once and you’ve just about McFuckin had it.

 You tried to access the deep web out of curiosity and boredom but when you got to a page where there were lists of hitmen and hitwomen, your mind went into a frenzy. What if you hired one and paid them to target yourself? Wouldn’t that be fun? You helped them earn money and you helped yourself end your suffering.

 Pfft

 It seems like a wack idea but why the fuck not?

 You scrolled through the list of hired murderers when one name caught your attention.

 “The Winter Soldier”

 With a tilt to your head, you clicked on his profile and read through it.

 “Wow” you whispered as you read through his profile and not gonna lie, his metal arm was cool as fuck and what better way to die than to be killed by a real-life super villain-hitman of some sort.

 You made to enter your name in the box where the word “target” was written and wrote your full name then went to check out and paid the price. A little pricey but you literally have nothing else to lose.

 After clicking the ‘confirm’ button, your screen went black and you sat there with an unimpressed look.

 “Of course.” You scoffed. As if your life wasn’t doing bad enough, you’ve just been scammed. You tilted your head back and groaned, not knowing that your webcam has been recording your every move and a certain super villain-hitman has been watching your every move.

The Asset wasn’t sure what to make of it.

He wasn’t sure what to make of this situation. He pursed his lips, moving up closer to the ledge of the building rooftop and hunched his body forward. He was splayed on the ground belly-down with his elbows propped up and keeping his upper body elevated. The dark concealed him well in the shadows, the only source of light left being the soft shine of the moonlight. Part of him, the soldier part, reprimanded the bulky blonde for his lack of awareness. The open blinds leading into the small Brooklyn apartment was a critical weakness. Anyone could look into it and in turn, leave him vulnerable to danger. Poor barricading made this all the more easier. The Asset part of him, however, was given more room for observation.
