I Didn’t Know It Would Be That Big 

If anybody could see him now, the righteous Captain America,hiding in a woman’s closet. In his defence, he had thought you were out, notthat it was a great defence. He had only wanted to use the opportunity tosearch your room for his Christmas present. With some of the team on missionsand Clint with his family for the day, The Avengers had agreed to exchangegifts on New Years Eve instead, but he had gotten impatient. Well now he waspaying for it, because when your door handle had rattled, he’d panicked anddove for cover.

Which is how he ended up here, trapped between a parka coatand something that had faux fur on it, tickling his cheek. To make matters evenworse, apparently you weren’t alone.

“God, I’ve been looking forward to this all day!” Youexclaimed excitedly.

“I know doll, I got back as quickly as I could.”

Steve’s eyes nearly popped out of his skull. He knew thatvoice. Bucky was in your room and it sounded like….

“Come on Barnes, give it to me.” You demanded.

“Say pretty please.” Bucky teased.

“Buckyyyy.” You whimpered.

“So needy.” His best friend chuckled.

Blood rushed to his cheeks as he realised what was going onin your room. You and Bucky, Bucky and you, you were going to…

There was a rustling noise and then…

“I didn’t know it would be that big.” You gasped, choking indisbelief.

“What, you were expecting it to be smaller doll? I’moffended.” Bucky scoffed smugly.

“I can’t even wrap both my hands around it. How am Isupposed to fit it in my mouth?” You asked in awe.

“No, wait! Stop!” Steve yelled, tumbling out of the closetwith his hand covering his eyes.

“Steve? What the hell?” You yelped.

“I’m sorry! I was looking for my present, I know I shouldn’thave been, but I didn’t know you two…” He stammered, carefully trying toblindly walk across the room.

“You were WHAT?” You asked indignantly.

“Are you covering your eyes in shame pal?” Bucky snorted.

“I’ll just go.” Steve whispered meekly, walking into a wall.

The back of his neck war burning and he felt a little illabout what was happening. He’d just been caught hiding in the closet while youand Bucky were, well…

“Steven Grant Rogers, you look at me right now.” You snappedat him.

He paused, afraid. Afraid of you and afraid of what he mightsee.

“Is it safe? Is Bucky, you know, clothed?” He croaked.

His question was met with silence.

“Guys?” He pressed.

“Steve, what do you think we were doing?” Bucky asked withbarely restrained mirth.

The question made him brave a peek through his fingersbefore he dropped his hand and gaped at the two of you. Bucky was sprawled outacross the end of your bed like a giant cat, fully clothed, and you were perchednext to him holding…

“Bucky said he knew where the biggest and best burgers inthe city were and promised he’d bring me back one after his mission.” Youfrowned, holding up the admittedly supersized burger.

“Super soldier metabolism. Gotta know where serves thebiggest portions.” Bucky smirked, his eyes twinkling at the disbelief on Steve’sface.

“Ohthankgod.” Steve blurted under his breath.

From the shit-eating grin on his face, Bucky clearly knewwhere his mind had gone. But you were blinking innocently at him, poutingslightly at his impatient snooping.

“Doll, don’t be too hard on him. Steve just wanted to seewhat you got him so he could make sure the very expensive gift he got you wasn’ttoo extravagant, isn’t that right Stevie?” Bucky asked, throwing him a lifelineand throwing him under the bus at the same time.

It worked though, because your eyes immediately softened.

“Steve! You didn’t have to get me anything big, really. Imean I think you’ll love what I got you but it’s not a competition. I’ll lovewhatever you get me, because it’s from you.” You told him sweetly.

Your genuine reaction made him feel a lot less annoyed atBucky. You were too sweet to him, of course he didn’t mind spoiling you.

“All the same, I’m sorry I tried to snoop.” He apologised.

“I forgive you, and if it makes you feel better, next yearwe’ll set a price limit, though I don’t know how we’ll reign Tony in. Now, ifyou don’t mind, I need to get this gorgeous piece of meat in my mouth.” Youannounced, making him nearly choke on his own saliva.

“Yeah, sure. Um, bye.” He stuttered, escaping from thesituation before it got any more awkward.

As soon as he closed your door behind himself he resistedthe urge to bang his head against it and instead went to collect his wallet.Apparently he had some shopping to do.  

In your room Bucky was guffawing loudly, making the bedrumble.

“That was close. I can’t believe we almost got found outwhen we weren’t even doing anything.” Bucky snorted.

“Yeah, at least we know that if Steve finds out we’resleeping together he’ll take it well.” You sniggered.

It’s my personal headcanon that chaoticdumbass!reader pulls a jake peralta when interrogating difficult hydra operatives by playing the guitar and screeching at them. She prefaces it by telling them she’s had two 5 hour energy shots and gives zero fucks as to how long it’s gonna take. The field where she grows her fucks is BARREN.

The metal door crashes open, rattling the steel cage of the room. You spin in—triple axel with no clear trajectory—and barely stick the landing.

Handcuffed to the reinforced table is Someguy Whatshisface. A Hydra waterboy or something.

“Close the door.” The intercom buzzes with Steve’s voice. Two-way glass and all, this guy’s gone through the ringer with Natasha and she got fuck-all. Bucky already pulled out the cyanide capsule embedded in his incisor, so…

“Grab my wiener,” the deep voice to your right stated evenly.

Coughing into your drink, your eyes bulged at his words. Clearing your throat you tried to find your bearings as the crowd cheered around you both. Why were they encouraging him?

“Wha-what?” meekly asking, too embarrassed to look him in the eye as you wiped away the splashed liquid off your lap.  

“Put your hands around it.” You could practically hear the smirk in his voice, “The hot dog. Pass it to me, please.”

The crowd jumped and cheered out of their seats shadowing you both as the team took first, then second, third, and home.

Taking a moment to close your eyes and will away your discomfort, the crowd settled down while the next batter made his way to the mound. You turned toward the aisle way and held out your hand to become the next boxcar in the makeshift stadium food train. Before you could turn back around to Bucky and hand him his order, you felt the warmth of his breath and his double entendre slap against your cheek, “Hold out your hand for Steve’s wiener too, doll.”

You sat up even straighter and abruptly pushed the hot dog and the next one into Bucky’s chest, not concerned if you stained his shirt with the relish and mustard.

“Oh, oh, oh! Easy there, darlin’. You’re making my dribble out between those buns. No one wants a premature dribble.”

“Ok, so why the Gunslinger? Not that it isn’t a cool name, but why?” Sam asked.  

“Because every mission she did was like the Wild West. She wasn’t refined or precise, but she was damn good at fucking shit up. Give that woman a gun and a day, she’d create enough anarchy to bring down a small country.” Clint snorted.  

“And she’s a crack-shot. She is to a gun what Clint is to a bow and arrow.” Natasha added.

“Sir, we’re under attack!”

Fury didn’t move from his seat, calmly tapping at the computer to bring up the security feed. Apparently someone had crashed an SUV right through his front doors. He shook his head as his supposedly highly trained agents descended on the vehicle, barking threatening orders at it.

“Tell them to stand down. The vehicle is empty.” He said coldly.

Anyone who knew him at all would be able to see how angry he was. Anyone who knew him well would be able to tell he was amused.

“Sir?”

“She’s already half way up here by now.” Fury pointed out.

Right on cue, there was a knock on his office door.
