OMG IT UPDATED EARLY. IT IS TIME
Update: HOLY SHIT, LET GO (But also, john please, I want a vigilante arc)
I think reading the new chapter of UnOrdinary sent me into fight or flight

Maybe playing with what is basically wax covered sparklers with only a paper cup of water is a bad idea
Jonathan Sims everyone
Reasons why Jon Archivist is truly a character of all time:
Had the police called on him several times when he was a young child
Keeps his rib and the ashes of the season one antagonist next to his stationary drawer
Promised he wouldn’t get lost in tunnels and then immediately got lost in aforementioned tunnels
Has no clue what a joke is
Learned how remarkably easy it is to buy an ax in central London
Had to have two separate interventions
Told people his place of employment before traumatising them for life
The first character he ever said ‘I love you’ to is a cat
Allegedly participated in amdram
Watches documentaries and collects some kind of weird shit (my headcanon is Soviet Union postcards) when he’s not being a paranoid mess
Canonically looks like he hasn’t slept in weeks
Knows nothing about library science
Fell head over heels for a man that he hated until he learned he lied on his resumé
Has been referred to as Jesus or Jesus-adjacent at least twice
Asexual icon
Knows what a meme is and said “LOL” in the first episode
Rode on a merry-go-round sometime during his university days because he was in a weird place emotionally
Died for our Jonathan Sins
Is probably a computer now playing minesweeper with his boyfriend and evil 200+ year old boss
Been trying to figure out what all of the characters I relate to have in common and I just realized every single one would get poet on that one quiz and I can make powerpoint of arguments for all of them.
FUCKING OW, AGAIN
Someday I will learn to stop touching my eyes after cutting onions.
Today is not that day
Gonna use this on everyone, no one is safe
I made a PowerPoint to convince my friends to listen to The Magnus Archives

Dean being afraid of flying is one of the best reasons for having your characters drive everywhere ever
I don't know I haven't watched movies from my childhood recently. I watch a lot of shows targeted towards kids yet not many I liked as a kid. I think I'm going to go rewatch some of my favorite ones like the monster high movies. I miss them and maybe I can share them with my kid sibling.
Going to try to rewatch this movie now
I’m still not over how, from jackson’s perspective, he told everyone “hey maybe you shouldn’t take holt to vandalize the normie school” and then immediately woke up in jail
Me after seeing someone point out that if the characters just acted rationally in a game then everything would have worked out fine (I think about the game 24/7 and the psychology behind it is one of my favorite things)

I always like eating mushrooms till it tastes like im eating mushrooms
I have said this before but Kevin was aiming for a kill.
Watching Home Alone is so funny it’s like
Kevin’s mom: *hyperventilating into a paper bag* I can’t believe I left my son home alone, he has to be so terrified, my poor baby boy all alone I need to go get him-
Kevin: *actively planning to commit war crimes*

Omori Flower thingy 3
(Spoilers for Omori) (Also keep in mind the game this is from. Possibly triggering stuff.)
Hero
“Basil: These are roses! Can you guess who they remind me of? … They remind me of Hero! Did you guess correctly? Roses come in many different colors and have their own unique meanings. Pink roses symbolize admiration… Orange roses symbolize passion… Yellow roses symbolize friendship… and the list goes on! Hero doesn’t remind me of any rose in particular. I think Hero is like all roses, because he’s versatile and universally loved!”
Hero in headspace lives in the Neighbor’s room with Aubrey and Kel. Kel is his younger brother. Hero is shown to stop fights between Kel and Aubrey who regularly fight. He is shown to be extremely charismatic but he has a tendency to never say no. He is a people pleaser. He has a brotherly relationship with Kel, seeing as he is his older brother. He cares for all of friends and is technically the most parental figure to the team, due to there being no actual good adults in headspace.
Hero in real world is still incredibly caring and kind. He still has people pleasing behaviors, as shown by him doing work for others despite only visiting home. He still has the charismatic personality and is known to be good at everything he tries, despite him saying this is heavily exaggerated. However, in the real world Hero has gained depression after Mari’s death. He is doing better, seeing as it has been 4 years, but he is still working towards getting his life back on track.
Roses are closely related to love and romance. They can also have meaning by how many you send to someone. Nine (The number of rose bushes in Basil’s garden) means eternal love. Blue roses (blue being the color commonly related to Hero) shows a metaphysical striving for the infinite and unreachable.
~Headspace~
Hero is shown to be the character with the most connection to love, with him and Mari being the only healthy-ish couple in headspace and with someone deciding he would be the perfect husband and trying to marry him. It would make sense that Hero would be associated with a flower meaning love. The nine flower thing will also be taken here cus in headspace he is like 15.
The blue flower could show how Hero is always trying to please everyone and make everyone happy. Seeing as this is an almost impossible feat, this could be starving for the unreachable.
~Real world~
Hero is once more in one of the only healthy romantic relationships in the real world. Most of the others either have no relationship or have a ruined relationship. Him and Mari cared about each other so there you got the love.
Eternal love? He still thinks about her everyday years after her death. He did not visit the grave until 4 years after her death. I would say it is far bet to say that he still cares about her alot, and I don’t think it will stop.
The blue rose could show how Hero is always thinking about Mari, wanting to get to spend another day with her. He still thinks about her everyday after 4 years and didn’t even leave his bed for a whole year after her death.
I also find it interesting how the people pleaser got the type of flower with insanely different meanings. Roses can have many different means for every kind of rose. Like Basil says, pink is admiration,Yellow is friendship, Red is love, and so on and so forth. All the roses are meant for different kinds of people just like Hero would probably act differently around different people to make them happy.

Omori Flower thingy 2
(Spoilers for Omori) (Also keep in mind the game this is from. Possibly triggering stuff.)
Mari
“Basil: These flowers are called lily of the valley. It’s said that they're able to ward off evil spirits and help people see a brighter future. I guess that’s why they remind me of Mari! I can always count on her to help me stay positive!”
In the headspace Mari is constrained to a picnic blanket and is used as a save point and healing point. She is Omoris older sister and Hero's… Crush? Girlfriend? Idk. She is very helpful and can be seen giving advice. She also very much cares about all the kids and is worried about Basil throughout the whole missing bit. She is a safe spot for all the kids and can be found in many places by some wicked teleportation skills.
In the real world Mari is still very caring and helpful. She plays the piano and is a perfectionist. She helps the others get Sunny a violin and is known for baking cookies. She was Hero’s girlfriend here. She had also made plains to dye her hair with Aubrey, purple and pink respectfully. So to summarize, headspace Mari is kind, helpful, and “safe”. In the real world she is a perfectionist, caring, and kind.
Something is a hallucination of Sunnys that resulted from Sunny seeing his sister's dead body. It is an upside down tear like shape with an eye. It is shown as scary every time you see it. This is important because it can be a main point about how Mari relates to her flower.
Lily of the valley symbolism can be for joy. It also can be sadness or pain due to loss. They can also be seen as bad luck for women, some people believing that if they are brought inside then a woman in the house will die from a mysterious illness. As Basil mentioned, it also can call on good spirits and ward off evil ones.
~Headspace~
Mari is almost always shown as happy or teasing. She is a very positive person and is kinda just chilling most of the game. She is Live, Laught, Love here.
Mari in the headspace later askes Omori to follow her to a place called the North Lake. She then mentions Sunny by name despite the fact that she should not know about him. She then climbs through a window show that was mentioned that sunny believed to be the gateway to heaven as a kid. I am fairly certain that this is the last time we see her in the headspace so therefore it would be a mysterious death.
As for calling on good spirits and getting rid of bad ones, headspace Mari is the only time we see Mari outside of pictures or flashbacks in a non-warped image. Sunny almost always sees her as something or as a very creepy version of her face. (Someone please get Sunny therapy. He desperately needs it.) So in that way she would be a good spirit, getting rid of something while Omori is next to her and allowing Omori/Sunny to remember what she looks like.
~Real world~
Ok, so let me preface this by saying that Mari has almost no time on screen except in flashbacks or photos. Also, this Mari had no good luck. Her kid brother killed her by pushing her down the stairs.
Mari was seen as joyful by most people around her. She was seen to only be laughing or smiling in the photos we see. She is mentioned to be a happy person by at least one person. So, joy.
So Mari technically (On official papers) died from hanging. Seeing as she had no history of any of this stuff it could be considered a mysterious illness. Mari’s death however was just mysterious to begin with. She died by having her kid brother push her down a flight of stairs and Basil saw. Due to the kids not wanting Sunny to get in trouble, They hung her off a tree in Sunny’s back yard. So therefore we have a woman dying of a mysterious illness, no matter how you look at it.
I don’t know about calling good spirits and warding off evil cus Mari would technically be the evil spirit in this scenario. This could show how in one of the routes he can let go of everything. This would allow him to regain the “good spirit” (the good memories of his sister) and ward off the “bad ones” (Something).
This is not real concrete evidence but I like the fact that Maris flower is poisonous. Lily of the Valley are real pretty flowers and the fact that it is poisonous can be taken as something sweet and nice (seen as symbols of joy, good luck, and love) as something that hurts people. Like Mari (who is seen as loving, sweet, and kind) has hurt everyone after her death. Like a poison with Sunny and Basil going batshit, Aubrey becomes much more hostile, Kel becoming the spokesperson for toxic positivity, and Hero becoming very very sad. I just find it cool that the poisonous flower could show the fact that Mari, despite being good and kind, still hurt the others in death. This could be used for the point of extreme pain for loss.

Omori Flower Thingy
Block of text Coming up
So, I really like the game Omori. There is a lot of symbolism in the game and I want to break down the flowers that basil says reminds him of his friend in both their real world and headspace counterparts. (Spoilers for Omori) (Also keep in mind the game this is from. Possibly triggering stuff.)
So as a basic rundown of the game if you have never played it or heard of it, Omori is a game about a kid named Sunny. The game switches between him as Sunny, in the real world, and Him as Omori, in the headspace. All of his friends have a counterpart that he made up in the headspace. We have Basil, Aubrey, Hero, Kel, and Mari. Basil (In both headspace and the real world) is known to grow flowers. When you visit his house for the first time in the game you get shown six plots of flowers, one for every main character. I want to show how, in opinion, these not only represent them in the headspace but the real world.
“Basil: These are sunflowers. They're called that because they always face towards the sun.
That’s how I want to be like… someone who always sees the bright side of things”
Basil In the headspace lives alone from all of the others, with Omori living in white space, Mari on a picnic blanket, and the others in Neighbor’s room. In headspace he is shy, cheery, and empathetic. For most of the game he is missing in the headspace after finding a photo that showed the whole big plot twist we learn towards the end of the game. This leads to the whole story plot of everyone following Omori around to try and find Basil with them slowly losing their memories of him as they go along until only Omori remembers.
In the real world Basil is extremely anxious. He also knows the secret but unlike headspace Basil he didn't just find it out. He has known for 4 years and had to deal with the knowledge alone because Sunny didn’t leave his house for 4 years and made a whole new fucking world in he head.
Sunflower symbolism can be for loyalty. Sunflowers at funerals show that a person brought people close when they were alive. It can also apparently mean life after death.
~Real World~
Basil is a person who is extremely loyal to sunny. Due to an accident that resulted in the death of Sunny’s sister. Sunny accidently pushed his sister down the stairs in an argument resulting in her death and Basil helped him cover is up by making it look like Mari hung herself. Basil kept this secret even after Sunny locked himself in his house. He even willingly took the blame for things Sunny did, causing him to lose one of the last friends he had while Sunny locked himself away.
In one of the endings Basil kills himself. I feel like this could result in one of the same ways as Mari, where Sunny hallucinates his dead best friend resulting in a “life after death”.
In one of the routes he is the reason all of his friends rejoin and start to get along? He is the reason his friends are brought together therefore begin someone who brought people together in life
~Headspace~
In the headspace we don’t get as much time with him due to him being missing most of the game here. I will do my best to prove my point with like the 30 minutes max time he got out of the 21-71 hour game. I would say he is in life after death and brings people together in the way that even when his friend could no longer remember his name they knew that they were looking for someone.
Loyal is a bit harder here. He does however protect some people who show him kindness despite the fact that he is a pacifist. That's all I got on this point.
And in both worlds they blindly follow the Sunny/Omori even when it hurts them. They follow the sun even after it results in headspace getting killed a shit ton in black space and real world his friends about to keep the secret and protect Sunny.
