I feel I must add the Australia went to war with Emu's (who along side Ostriches and Cassowaries are the closest living real world equivalents to Chocobos) and LOST to the Emu's. Chocobo LC twins is a terrifying terrifying thing and I love it. PS this is also why FFXV portraying Chocobos as helpless without human bothers me those bird could take care of themselves in the wild just fine

Yeah chocobos being totally domesticated is- weird? And I personally don't agree with it. I can see there being a fully domesticated variant who has higher population numbers than wild ones, but personally I think the wilds would do just fine. Because come on. Have you seen those talons.
