Prologue Tag Game

Prologue Tag Game

Belated thanks to @amaiguri for the tag! I'll be going with Asteria Heights, which I've already done some worldbuilding spotlights on, lol.

"What's one of the most interesting things that happens before Page #1?"

Prologue Tag Game

(Picture isn't mine.)

Hundreds of years ago, humans and magical beings were able to roam freely between two realms; Earth and Velsaid. Not only was magic well-known, but humans and magical beings had a relatively peaceful relationship with each other. That was, of course, until the Great Divide.

The Great Divide was a sudden and unexpected catastrophe that destroyed the connection between the two worlds without explanation, leaving some beings stranded on the wrong side.

Not long after, tensions began to rise on earth between humans and magical creatures. As such, Asteria, an elven woman, created a gated community to host and protect the people of Velsaid from humans.

Several other communities also cropped up around the globe, and before long, most non-humans were sequestered away from human society. The two eventually encountered each other less and less. While there were no worldwide events that instantaneously sparked the separation, various regional incidents such as the infamous Salem Witch Trials eventually spurred non-humans to go into almost total hiding from humanity.

To this day, there are still global efforts amongst non-humans to research the nature of the Divide and find a solution to their predicament. This is where the story begins; with humans' rapid globalization and penchant for scouring every centimeter of the earth out of curiosity, non-humans are beginning to feel more and more cornered.

And then a human gets murdered on their lands.

Thanks again for the tag! This is the shortest bit of worldbuilding I can think to make a post of lol. Though now that the polls of the other post are closed, I guess this could've been backstory about that... meh.

Not a villain song tag game

Hello, everyone! Welcome to the not a villain song tag game! (Does this exist already? If yes, then excuse my ignorance) (Am i allowed to make a tag game when my blog is 2 days old? Hopefully!)

Rules: Pick a song for the antagonist/ villain of your WIP, but the twist is that it can't be obvious that it is a song for the villain. As in: if someone listened to the song and didn't know it was about the villain, they couldn't guess!

I'll start:

For Odette: Cost of the Crown by Mercedes Lackey

Ah, yes, Odette!

"A friend, a love, a child--- it matters not, I know indeed

That I must sacrifice them all if there should be the need

They know and they forgive me--- doing more than I require,

With willing minds and loving hearts go straight to grasp the fire."

I'll tag some people who said they wanted to be tagged in @athenswrites tag game masterpost (but only if you want to do it):

@overdecorated-furniture @willtheweaver @pandoras-comment-box @anyablackwood

And I know I didn't see you in that post, but just in case: @illarian-rambling

And obviously, anyone who sees this is free to play!

Badly Summarized WIPs

I was tagged by both @athenswrites and @amaiguri, so thanks to them for the tag! I've cut them down to the ones I don't really talk about, since I have way too many to fit the polls and I don't want to overuse some of them lol. I might do another one with the rest of my WIPs later, though!

Let me know what you think! I have a LOT of WIPs, more than I have room on polls, and I love talking about them lol.

Worldbuilding in Five Tag Game

Another super belated thanks to @athenswrites for the tag! I LOVE worldbuilding and talking about my worldbuilding, so this is perfect lmao. For this one I'll be using my WIP, Crown of Blood. It's the only one I have decent inspo pics for. None of the images are mine! I found them on Pinterest!

"Rules: post 3-5 images of a place in your world and tell us a bit about it."

Castle Pieris

(Name is a placeholder.) Technically belonging to the king, it's the current permanent resident of Princess Adrasteia, as a gift for her birthday. As King Silas III has yet to bequeath a castle unto the rest of his children, it's largely accepted as a blatant act of favoritism. Previously the stronghold belonging to a warlord of Sylvatica (a nation-state-turned-province after being conquered some decades back), it served as a holiday villa for several generations of Adecian royal families).

As such, there are centuries' worth of wards, traps, and other tricks (both magical and mechanical) built, powered, and neglected by both Sylvatican and Adecian residents. Magic is etched into each beam and brick.

Pomari Town

One of the closest and most prosperous towns near the Palace. A bustling place that still manages to feel small, despite being so full of life. Lilia (the protagonist of the original story) and her mother live on the outskirts.

Pomari specializes in small magic craft productions (such as potions and talismans), as well as fashion. There are plenty of guilds in the area. The residents are primarily merchant class, with the occasional lower-end nobles occasionally residing there during the on-seasons in secondary town homes. The peasants that live there are usually employed as commute cleaners and servants, with properties closer to the edge of Pomari. (I'm not the best at economics so I'm definitely going to be workshopping this more at a later date).

I hope this was interesting, lol. (Gently) Tagging: @amaiguri, @mysticstarlightduck, @the-down-upside-finch, @cypriathus and anyone else who wants in!
