Thank you to @sunset-a-story for the tag! (Go here for that post.) I'm really enjoying these most likely games. It's hilarious.
Rules: Choose one of your OCs that best matches the given statement, and briefly explain why.
Most likely to eat a whole raw ghost pepper to prove something/impress someone.
Jack and/or Cameron. Maybe they bet each other. Maybe Jack's trying to prove it's fine to eat in order to get someone else to succumb. They enjoy spicy food, so trying a ghost pepper may not be that weird.
The dragon boys are disqualified from consideration as they can breathe fire.
Most likely to see Jack eating a whole raw ghost pepper and immediately go off in search of milk/ice cream/etc.
Cameron. I don't know how to explain why other than it's Jack and he's Cameron.

If there was a tumblr equivalent in #plot armadillo, it would be Cal. She'd hang out with artblr and occasionally peruse the science side of tumblr. She wouldn't post/reblog though. She's just following people. Like a bot.

Siblings and Questions Tag!
I saw this tag floating around here on Tumblr (notably this post) so I thought I'd give it a try! Let's go with some siblings from Supernova Initiative!
1. Who looks the most like Dad?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
Undoubtedly Jack. He has his father's bright red/auburn hair, tan white skin and brown eyes, though his clothing style (causual, typical "pilot style", with simple white shirts, leather jackets and cargo pants & boots) and general build (tall and athletic, rather than average height and very skinny), is more similar to that of his mother. His personality also strongly differs from his father's, and though he inherited his soft-spoken, bleeding heart nature, his rebellious, impulsive, and leadership tendencies come from his mother as well.
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
Because Pax was adopted into Ethean's family by the latter's parents, there isn't a biological tie in their appearances, though Ethean & Pax do share some similar traits, mostly due to coincidence and upbriging. Despite that, because of Pax's constant efforts/need to feel like he belongs in the family, the younger boy subconsciously - and at times consciously - emulates his adoptive mother's way of dressing (formal, impeccable) and even some of her personality traits.
2. Who looks the most like mom?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
Cassie! She has their mother's voluminous, curly brown hair, warm white freckled skin, and face shape, though her eyes are brown like their father's eyes. HOWEVER. That's about it for similarities between them. Out of the two siblings, Cassie took after/imprinted on their father way more than with their mother (mostly because both Cassie and Florian, their dad, shared a passion for engineering and making robotic inventions), while Jack took after their mother and bonded more with her (because he wanted to be a rebel and a pilot like her). Not that Cassie wasn't close with their mother - or Jack with their father - but there are some clear parallels/similarities between Cassie & Florian, Jack & Lauriel, that are undeniable.
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
Ethean longs to be the "perfect Junction soldier", much like their father, who is a respected figurehead of state in Station Nexus. He wants to make their father proud more than anything, and indeed does look like him quite a bit - dark hair, tan skin, strong features - rather than like their mother.
3. Who eats the most?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
Cassie! She's always snacking on something at any given time, from fried chips to crispy waffles, to pasta or fish sticks, there's always some kind of food/snack in her surroundings, especially when she's working on an invention. Jack doesn't eat a lot, a habit he developed during their tough childhood, and even though now they have all the food they can eat his appetite remains little, and he usually only eats some protein bars and chocolate milk between meals.

They both eat a lot in different circumstances, but Pax definetly has the wildest and most voracious appetite between the two brothers.
4. Who has been on the weirdest situations?

Definetly Pax!!! That boy is a trouble magnet, and Ethean is the poor soul that has to drag him out of danger most of the times, and who is also just as confused as anyone else as to how Pax got into those situations.
5. Who sleeps the most?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
Neither! They both have a tendency to go to sleep late and wake up early. Depending on the day, Cassie tends to be a bit grumpier in the morning, but not always.
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
Pax! He loves sleeping, and often goes to sleep early and wakes up late. He is like a zombie in the mornings, especially when he has to wake up earlier than usual.
7. Most stable romantic life?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
Both of them have pretty stable/healthy romantic lives with each of their respective partners (Cassie with Artemis, Jack with Lyorna).
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
Ethean has never dated before, because he is far too focused on his career as a fighter pilot, though most of the girls around him crush on him (he is oblivious) he has never even kissed anyone before. Pax used to be too awkward to date anyone, but then he met Tarah, who is just as awkward as he is, and now they (Pax + Tarah) have a very much lovely but awkward romance lol.
8. Worst habit of each one?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
Jack: Selfless/Self-Sacrificing to the point of being Self-Destructive, has seriously low-self esteem and lives for others
Cassie: Needs to prove herself to others (namely to her brothers) to an extreme, to the point she becomes frazzled
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
Ethean: His sense of duty is stronger than his sense of personal identity, he wants to be an honorable soldier and that sometimes gets in the way of his personal life
Pax: Is too reckless and tends to act on impulse before thinking things through, and then panics when he gets stuck in a dangerous situation
9. Who's the most dramatic?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
It depends on the situation. Jack tends to be very chill/calm and rarely lets emotions get to him, but if he wants to he can and will put up a dramatic show, especially if it is to annoy his friends or siblings. Cassie tends to have a more dramatic streak, but similarly to Jack, only in light-hearted situations.
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
Definetly Pax! Ethean is very down-to-earth, while Pax has a strong love for theatrics. Plus, sometimes Pax is actually, unironnically, dramatic by accident due to his anxious nature.
10. Who had a weird phase?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
... Eh, neither, I think. They didn't really have "phases" while growing up, and usually just adapted really well to different situations as time passed. However, Cassie did have a more angsty/angry/upset phase when she was around 14-15, because she was feeling betrayed by Deimos, after he left them, and subconsciously became obsessed with "proving that she was good enough", but for the most part, Jack was able to help her out of that midset. However, when Deimos returns to the group when she is 18, that aspect of her personality which she thought she'd gotten past/buried came back strongly whenever she and Deimos interacted, though it did not change her other relationships in that time of the story.
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
Not really a "weird phase", but when he was a teen, Ethean became obsessed with philosophy and existential questions, etc. He also developed a love for conspiracy theories and a desire to navigate the unknown. He wanted to travel to new planets, and started to question if he really wanted to join the Junction's armed forces. He almost planned on running away to have a "vacation" travelling to new planets, like a backpacking year, but he decided against it because he didn't want to disappoint his parents (who were actually caring though strict and narrow-minded) and couldn't bring himself to leave Pax behind. His "free-spirited Era" was then completely quashed when he joined the Junction's Void Program to become a military fighter pilot, and he started to conform/obsessively follow the status quo in order to become an "examplary soldier" and uphold his war hero reputation.
11. Best cook of the family?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
DEFINETLY JACK. Cassie could BURN WATER if she tried. She absolutely cannot cook. Its so bad that once she ended up "banned"/grounded from cooking in their spaceship's kitchen because she burnt two sandwiches so badly the whole ship was flooded with soot and smoke. Jack isn't any Michelin-grade chef, but his cooking is actually good and while he only knows simple, more basic receipes, they're definetly edible and tasty. Meanwhile Cassie's cooking is... charred to a crisp at best and lethal at worst lmao.
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
Neither of them are great cooks, but Ethean is actually pretty good at baking sweets, while any and all savory dishes he tries to make are either painfully bland or overseasoned. Pax probably knows the basics of the basics too, like, "how to fry an egg" or "how to make instant noodles", but that's about it.
12. Best memory together?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
Quite a few! They tend to have a "enjoy every waking moment of life" kind of mindset, which means they usually find fun in any and all situations if they try. I think that some of their best memories are their first off-world heist job with Deimos (their adoptive brother), which was the beginning of their intergalatic thieves career. They've had some pretty amazing memories after and before that too. One of those memories would be Cassie's 12th birthday, which was one of the first real birthday parties they've had since their parents died - and it was especially great for them because: 1. it was the first year Jack was able to afford giving Cassie the birthday gift she wanted, 2. Deimos, their adoptive brother, had never experienced what a human birthday was like and he had a lot of fun (Zatrians, Deimos' species, have Name-Day celebrations but they're usually solemn and very simbolic moments, very different from the way humans usually celebrate birthdays).
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
I think that one of their best memories together was the day after Ethean returned from his first sucessful mission as a pilot - they had never been apart for that long ever since Pax was adopted by their family (the mission lasted six months off-world), so they decided to celebrate their reunion by sneaking out of the gala hosted by their family and going to an amusement park in the other side of Station Nexus. They had a lot of fun, and it was honestly one of their greatest moments together, especially since they didn't have to be perfect like they had to in front of their family and got to just have fun like proper teenagers.
13. Worst memory together?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
They grew up on the streets of Cethea III, one of the most dangerous, downtrodden and crime ridden moons on their planetary system, with no one to look out for them but each other. This means they've been through some pretty serious hardships together - especially since, destitute as they were, there was a time period where they could barely afford food or shelter. I think one of their absolutely worst memories was when Jack got very sick - and since they couldn't afford medical attention, he almost died. Deimos managed to steal some medicine for him - which did save Jack's life - but then, after delivering the medicine to Cassie, Deimos ended up caught by some Sentries and beaten up to an inch of his life. So yeah... not great times.
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
This is a bit of a spoiler but here we go: during the events of the story, after Ethean decides to secretly disobey his orders for the first time in order to help Pax and his newfound friends, he ended up betrayed by his superiors, who had found out about his "treason" and had pretended not to know - until they sent him to a doomed mission on the Khosmonian galaxies, which was purposefully set up by them in order for the mission to go wrong and Ethean end up captured (the Junction did so because, since they didn't want to overtly kill him and get in trouble with his rich family, they decided to set him up so they could pretend he was "killed in action"). Only at the last minute did Ethean realize there was not going to be any rescue mission and that he'd been betrayed, but by that time, he ended up captured by the Khosmonian Council - who decided to interrogate him for information on the Junction (which, despite having been betrayed, he still refused to give - mostly because he knew there were innocent citizens in the Junction + his whole family and friends lived there and he couldn't possibly put their safety on jeopardy). Pax realized what had happened, and despite his friends' warnings, decided to try and rescue him alone. Which was a very bad idea because he then ended up captured himself and forced to witness Ethean's torture (and the aftermath) - which was, even by Khosmonian standards, pretty gruesome (so much so that Ethean permanently lost a leg because of it). Luckily their friends were able to rescue them both alive, but the event left the duo (especially Pax) seriously traumatized and took a lasting toll.
14. Dream trip together
Jack & Cassie (biological)
Exploring both galaxies and visiting new, uncharted planets, as well as some known ones. As the story progresses, they end up doing precisely that, though while attempting to stop a civil war and being hunted down by a dystopic regime. Still, travel is travel, right lol?
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
When they were teens, they always planned on leaving Station Nexus and just roaming around the galaxies freely, especially to visit/see some far away nebulas in the neighbouring planetary system.
15. Would you rather not being able to shower for a month or have the same clothes for a month?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
They have already done both in the past (again, they were street urchins for a huge chunk of their childhood), and they would probably absolutely hate even the thought of doing something like that again. If they had to choose, I think they would choose the "same clothes for a month" because then they can still wash said clothes every day and take showers everyday, while the alternative would be much ickier in their opinion.
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
I think Ethean would also choose the "same clothes for a month" option in a hypothetical scenario, because in reality he is always prepared and always packs at least 5 changes of clothes when he travels. Meanwhile, Pax would probably start overthinking the question and eventually trail off into different topics without finding or choosing an answer lol.
16. Who's the older one?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
Jack is 7 years older than Cassie. When they were orphaned he was 13 and she was 6. In the current timeline of the story, Jack is 25 and Cassie is 18. (Jack raised Cassie on his own ever since they were orphaned, because they had no living relatives to take care of them. When he was 15, they met Deimos Soll, who was 16, and who became his best friend and their adoptive brother, helping him raise Cassie)
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
Ethean is 8 years older than Pax, and in the current timeline of the story Ethean is 27 and Pax 19. When Pax was adopted by Ethean's family, Pax was 4 and Ethean 12.

Jack would describe Cassie as: Bubbly, Energetic and Smart
Cassie would describe Jack as: Kind, Protective and Stubborn
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)

18. Role model?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
Jack's Role Model: Their late mother
Cassie's Role Model: Jack is her number one role model and someone she looks up to greatly/wants to make proud. Another role model of hers is their late father.
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
Ethean's Role Model: His parents, especially his father, whom he looks up to and often tries to emulate.
Pax's Role Model: Their mother, someone he subconsciously wants to be like and is always trying to get her approval. He also looks up to Ethean a lot, who is kind of like a hero to him, especially because of his reputation as a literal war hero.
19. Who usually has the worst ideas?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
Both of them, in different circumstances lol. HOWEVER - while Jack occasionally has bad ideas and is reckless with his safety, he is usually the more responsible one, and Cassie definetly takes the cake as the most gremlin-like of the two when it comes to causing chaos. She has a very "oh I wonder what this does" attitude to anything in life and no common sense whatsoever.
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
PAX. DEFINETLY PAX. ALWAYS PAX. That boy is the human embodiment of an orange cat with a Single Braincell TM, and that combined with his need for approval and adventure is like a time bomb for chaos, especially since he ALMOST NEVER thinks things through before acting out his plans. He should not be left unsupervised lol. Ethean is super responsible, down-to-earth and pragmatic, and Pax is basically his opposite, which makes Ethean really struggle to keep him out of trouble - think like, an Anakin & Obi Wan dynamic except without the betrayal and angst.
20. A GIANT insect is on the wall, who's taking care of it?
Jack & Cassie (biological)
Oh, 100% Cassie. Jack has some serious insectophobia and he especially hates flying insects or uncanny ones. If he walked into the room and saw one he would just go "NOPE" and walk out of there so fast he'd basically teleport somewhere else, fully ready to be like "the spaceship is now yours, insect!". Cassie will probably get one of her robotic creations to smack the living crap out of the offending insect so they can carry on with their lives normaly afterwars.
Ethean & Pax (adoptive)
... None of them are very brave when it comes to bugs and insects, especially roaches and beetles, except they don't really mind spiders and scorpions. If its the latter, they'll probably scoop up the insect and kindly yeet it outside without squishing it. If its a roach or a moth however... that's a whole different issue. Pax would probably goad Ethean into killing the bug like "oh, so you're a war hero but can't handle a roach?" while hiding behind a door or wardrobe. Ethean would be determined to prove him wrong like, "fuck it, Imma kill this bug" then walk towards the insect with the hesitation of a thousand anxieties, wielding a broom. If the bug doesn't fly, he'll probably be able to squash it. But... if it does fly, oh both of those boys are ✨RUNNING AS FAST AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE✨ out of that room and will probably wait until the bug leaves on its own.

✨Belong, Seek, Avoid Tag!✨

Rules: A person's identity can also be shaped by their social connections. Identify three things about your character: What groups do they belong to, and what groups do they believe they do not? What kind of people do they tend to seek, and what kind of people would they rather avoid?
Let's go with Kye Thalax (Supernova Initiative), and Emrin (The Crystal of Ash)!
✨Belong
Kye
Initially, Kye believes he doesn't really belong anywhere, and shuns his inner need for belonging in the name of getting revenge. He hates his people (the Khylet folk), because some he considers weak - as his father's subjects did nothing to object to Eldora's cruel treatment of their own Prince (Damen) and let him die because of it instead of defending him - and others he considers cruel - he DESPISES those who follow his mother's doctrine and fight in her name.
However, as the story progresses, Kye finds himself unexpectedly making friends with Jack & his crew, eventually joining their found family - it was the first family Kye had had since his father was killed, and honestly, he needed one badly. Though shocked/in denial at first, Kye grew to embrace his newfound bonds with his friends, becoming fiercely protective of them and finding a new sense of belonging in their midst.
Emrin
Emrin considers herself as belonging with her adoptive brother's coven of assassins, as they took her in when nobody else would (being a half-Levaethian, half-human child, she was shunned and considered an abomination by both sides, until Astyr - a young Levaethain outcast took her in as his apprentice and they developed a sibling bond). She also embraces her elven (Levaethian) side MUCH more than she does her human side - she considers her elvish blood as the "innocent" part of her, and blames her human blood (admitedly because she only knows humans as invaders and killers, and because in their world humans are much more vicious/cruel than elves) as the "taint" that "cursed her to be a monster".
As time passes and she begrudgingly becomes friends with a group of human adventurers from the neighbouring kingdom of Callonor, while on her quest to find Astyr and close the Rift, Emrin learns to forgive her human side and eventually accept it as a part of her that deserves to be loved rather than shunned. She also finds belonging amidst their little group of misfits as they venture on their adventure.

Kye
Kye tends to seek people who are clever/cunning and smart like him, but who also have a weird side, an open mind and specific interests so he can converse with them as an equal rather than being deemed the "overly nerdy freak" or a "weirdo". He also tends to gravitate towards people who have some sense of morality, honor and kindness, even if he thinks he himself doesn't have his qualities anymore (he does, deep down, he just has the shittiest self-esteem). He loves a good challenge, but also tends to only like people who respect other people's integrity or dignity - he would NEVER be friends with a known bully.
Emrin
Emrin is a very introverted, withdrawn and grumpy girl. Having been shunned and outcast her whole life, she does not comfortably seek the company of strangers, as a part of her dreads facing more rejection, and she also didn't learn proper social skills at the right age, so to speak. So she has a... feral, for lack of better word, disposition. Emrin tends to only actively seek the company of Astyr, her mentor and adoptive brother, who - for the longest time - is the only person who has trusted and loved her unconditionally, and who is also, admitedly, the only friend she has really had. She also does feel more comfortable around Astyr's friends and non-judgemental elves than around humans.
✨Avoid
Kye
Kye tends to avoid abusive people, and anyone who bullies/disrespects others. Having witnessed firsthand how degrading it is to be abused and bullied (as some of his earliest memories are unfortunately of his father suffering under his mother's abuse, and later he himself became a target as well), Kye cannot stand it, and people who act like that towards others really get under his skin. Kye also avoids anyone who has no ethics, dignity or who is generally known to be shitty.
Emrin
For the longest time, Emrin avoided humans like the plague. Not only did she blame humans for "making her an outcast" in elven society, but she also knew that humans were known to be dangerous and liked to hurt elves for sport when in the mountains (which is true and she witnessed). She knew that her half-elf nature would only make her more of a tagert. So all those factors combined, she really avoids humans. She also avoids prejudiced people (both humans and elves), cruel people and anyone who justifies hunting other living beings.

OC Confession Tag!

Let's go with two scenes involving different siblings from my WIPs in different contexts!
Lie Confession
Nahrieh began, voice even and smooth like honey, strangely calm, "Mayhaps...' The Sorcerer paused, fiddling with his necklace, the only sign of his nervousness, "I wasn't being fully truthful when I said your brother had nothing to do with the Rift."
Declan stammered, halting in place, "What?"
The immortal tilted his head, "Did it not seem strange to you? The argument. Your curse. Did it not strike you as strange how you were healed from it days after the Rift began?" He asked, somewhere between a genuine inquiry and a rhetorical question, "How your brother seemed distant - perhaps out of guilt - shortly before his disappearance?"
Declan's heart skips a bit, and he clutches his own arms, nervously trying to keep himself grounded. He gave an awkward scoff, "Keir would never - he... he's a knight!" He says, though his voice sounds unconvincing - it doesn't sound like he is convincing himself with it, as he continued, trying to seem certain, "He would never betray the realm."
Nahrieh chuckled, a deep, quick sound, like the rolling of water and sand on the ocean's floor, "Child, do not underestimate the lengths people will go to for love." He looks away, "I slaughtered an entire civilization to avenge my innocent spawn, fully aware I would be deemed a monster."
After a pause, he turns back to Declan, an unusual sorrow in his eyes "Do you think your brother would not make a deal with an eldritch force to spare your life?"
It was not a question - for they both knew the answer to it. Declan opened his mouth to rebuke, but no words came out. Instead, he growled softly, shaking his head.
The Sorcerer gave him a sad smile, "You know the truth Declan, - you just don't want to admit it. Yet." His voice grew pensive, and he twisted the string of his necklace between his fingers, swinging his legs softly where he was sitting on the edge of the smooth rock, "But now, another question remains - when you find Keir again, will you still be able to look upon his now bloodthirsty, hate-filled eyes like you used to? Knowing his corruption was the price for your life?"
Betrayal Confession
"Jack." Deimos paused, fingers gripping the metal threshold shakily, waiting for the other to respond, "There's... something I need to talk to you about."
Within the cockpit, Jack was organizing his things, namely placing some wrapped up sweet protein bars and a chocolate milk bottle inside a small locker beside his pilot chair. He looked over his shoulder, "Yeah!" Jack smiled, "Of course, what is it?"
Deimos cringed, crossing his arms over his chest and taking a shaky, deep breath, trying to keep himself grounded for what he was about to confess, "So." He began, searching his mind for the words, "This... t-this isn't easy for me to say, but I need to." The alien stammered, resisting the urge to change the subject before he could even start.
When he continued, he tried to keep his voice even, a pragmatic tone that did nothing to hide the panic and guilt underneath, "Your capture by the Junction, the reason why it was so sudden, so easy for them, it... it was because of me. I did it."
Jack frowned, slowly straightening his posture as his face fell into an expression of pure anxiety - it was clear he had already understood what he'd meant but didn't want to believe it, "... What do you mean?"
"I mean I set you guys up!" Deimos blurted out, closing his eyes for a moment. There was a long, painful silence spread out in the space between them, the weight of those words weighing them down as if the ship's artificial gravity had been turned to the maximum.
The young alien noticed as Jack faltered, anxiously grasping the leather seat of the pilot chair beside him, hands beginning to shake. He noticed how his brother looked away from him, face pale, eyes filled with a painful mix of betrayal and rising panic.
Deimos raced to try and soften the blow of those words, hating himself more and more with every passing second, knowing the damage was already done, " Jack, I'm sorry. I'm so fucking sorry. I made a mistake. And... I took the easy route to f-fix it." He grimaced, nails digging into his own arms, painfully. Deep down, Deimos figured he deserved to feel the pain, seeing the sadness in Jack's eyes, knowing he'd inflicted it.
He sighed, finishing his explanation, "The Junction offered me a deal. I took it. I set you guys up and for that - I'm sorry."
Jack seemed about to pass out, and when he looked back at Deimos, the young alien hated the hurt bubbling behind his brother's kind eyes, as the other spoke, "O-oh. Oh, okay. Um. Why?"
His voice was nothing like the confident, upbeat tone he usually had. It was quiet, and frazzled, flickering like a dying lamp - and right now, Deimos would do anything to take back the deal he'd made.
The alien spoke again, searching for the words to fix this, when there were none, eventually, he settled for simply being honest, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done what I did - I know. I-... I know I was probably weak but - I was... so scared. I wouldn't be able to handle what Eldora would do to me if she captured me again. I can't even stand the thought of going through... all that, again."
Jack still wasn't looking at him, staring vacantly at the floor. With his augmented hearing, Deimos was able to catch the phrase his brother had muttered under his breath, apparently despite himself, "...but what the Director is doing to me, that's okay to you, huh?"
Deimos felt his world crash, wanting to curl up and die at how defeated Jack sounded. He hated how much he knew his brother believed the words he'd just muttered - he hated how much Jack didn't even seem surprised.
He stepped forward, "No! No, it's not!" Deimos almost yelled, desperate to make Jack understand this was all just a mistake. That he never should've left them in the first place, all those years ago. His voice softened, and he reached forward slightly, "You're my brother, I would never want you to get hurt. I-I didn't even think it would get to that -!"
Jack flinched away, stepping back, almost curled in on himself, as he cut the other off before he could finish his sentence, "Well, you should have!" He snapped, and Deimos had never heard such a bitter rage in Jack's voice. It took him off guard, freezing him in place.
The young pilot continued, "Everyone... everyone told me I shouldn't trust you again. When you came back. But I did. I really... really did." As Jack looked back at Deimos, the blue-haired alien wished he hadn't. Something had changed, behind his kind eyes, like a broken mirror, never to be the same again - and Deimos knew he was the only one to blame for it. Jack growled, tilting his head slightly, "Only to find out that all this shitstorm that's happened, all this pain we went through - what he did to me - was because..."
His voice broke, " - Because of you?"

“Why does he keep coming by when he knows you’re never going to have any?”
“Because your mother’s the best dang herbalist on this side of the Mississippi.” Meg’s father, Benjamin, came down the stairs at that exact moment, smiling proudly. “Ain’t that right, hon?”
Fumiko giggled.

Glancing at the clock, she had about 5 minutes before it was time to eat, and it took about 10 to get there from her room. That plus how long it’d take to buy food… she’d have run if it wouldn’t have exerted too much energy. As it was, she moved at a respectable speed-walking pace.

Her breathing turned quick and shallow, and she fought to regulate it. She lost that battle once her opponent had made their appearance.

16 Sentence Writing Tag
Left this buried in my to-dos for ages, but it's finally here lol. Thanks @rivenantiqnerd for the tag! Gonna use a snippet I was working on from class. Keep in mind it's MINIMALLY edited!!!! But I'm trying to unlearn being embarrassed about my writing, so here it is!
At 22, many would have expected Diana to not only be wed, but to have children of her own to worry after. It would be no challenge for her to find herself a suitor, if she so pleased; out of all of the Blackwood daughters, Diana took after their mother the most. The long dark hair, slender frame, and eyes darker than shadows were all the kind donations of their shared blood. Diana’s features were a touch less severe; with softer cheekbones and a marginally brighter complexion, these differences were to her credit more than anything else. Mother had always been more on the sickly end of attractiveness, and while Diana was certainly pale, it was closer to "powdered" than "deathly".
But if Diana herself had any interest or even awareness of her age and diminishing marriageable appeal, she didn't acknowledge it. Evelyn often remarked that Diana might just be aiming for a station as a governess, though she didn't seem to hold much interest in others' children, either.
It was just as well, in Hope's eyes. Evelyn was lovely, but she wasn't the most reliable, and Mother needed all the help she could get, with so many children in one home. Marriage also didn't hold much appeal to Hope herself; had it not been the way of things, she would've chosen to become an explorer, or a professor of some kind. Men weren't much more interesting than marriage, either, not as far as companionship went. They were a curious group, foreign as they were to Hope, who hadn't the opportunity to make the acquaintance of any of them, but ultimately a boring subject. There were plenty of things that were far more curious to her; for instance, the strange nature of fungi, or the process of decomposition in various organic bodies, or the etymology of language.
In the worst case scenario, in which none of the other Blackwood daughters managed to leave maidenhood, Evelyn would marry an equally starry-eyed, wealthy and handsome man, and the rest of the family would live quietly off of the humble monthly allowance they would be kind enough to send them, for however long they would live.

Who's most likely to adopt a racoon/crow/skunk/fox/miscellaneous local wildlife for a pet? (Please tell the class how badly it would go. Please!)
Megumi would be the most likely SUCCESSFUL adopter, seeing as she can speak to animals and spends a lot of her free time with them anyway. But that's no fun, so Claire or Sora would probably be the next runners-up, with Claire's being the most disastrous.
Claire would be found in her room, fist-fighting a raccoon she tried to sneak into the cabin at 3 am. They'd become mortal enemies, and the raccoon would spend its time menacing her despite also refusing to leave (magic probably doesn't work on raccoons).
A total wildcard would be Adrasteia. If certain conditions are met, I'd imagine she'd find herself enchanted by an ugly, evil little possum or mole rat or something, and she'd immediately decide it's hers. The whole palace would be forced to deal with an aggressive little demon creature in a pink sweater, because if anything happened to it their heads would be next.
Most likely to verbally eviscerate someone for something petty.
Iris or Adrasteia. It's a toss-up between that and them just stabbing you, though.
Most likely to go viral unintentionally.
Luna or Claire, if they had internet in their world. For OCs in a world WITH social media, I don't know, lol. A lot of my characters are walking disasters, so any of them could easily do something that ends up being caught on camera and uploaded. Luna and Claire are expressly from a comedy though, so they're at the top of the list.
If I had to go with anyone, I guess Sora? She's the most openly impulsive/accidentally destructive, so I could imagine that would be worth putting on TikTok or something, lol.
