I explained to a friend in detail the dynamic I think Cave and Caroline had, and my friend goes, “I get it, it’s Soft Toxic Platonic Codependency” and I lost it because it was perfect.

Soft because they genuinely care about each other and enjoy their time together

Toxic because they’re both bad people who enable each other’s worst behaviors and never try to improve

Platonic because Caroline likes women and Cave’s only interest is science

Codependency because they actively put the needs of their company over their own wellness (to which end Caroline is ultimately asked to sacrifice more)

Me: *plays Half Life 2 for two and a half hours*

Me: That’s a good game session. Time to unplug and take a little mental health walk in nature!

Yknow alot of people get angry over ships, I totally get it, you're attached to those characters, you hate to see people talk shit or misrepresent. Not me though I get angry over actual ships, like, SHIPS, those things that go in the water. This one in particular

This motherfucker has caused me so much stress ever since I found its docking area in Portal 2. I'm like Captain Ahab if the White Whale was a ship, and the ship was The Borealis. If I'm being 100% honest, this is my number one reason why Valve's development practices regarding the Half-Life series pisses me off, I NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS SHIP
