Oh, that's so cute! I love Kieran's insistence on comfort over formality, and the mutual agreement on everything. They're very sweet together, and very real; I can practically hear Kieran in the way you write his dialogue

—WCABH Excerpt No.2

taking a break from some Spit and Coda to give you Kieran and Jasmine :D ! i just wrote this bit as i added a 31st chapter to the novella and just barely missed 60,000 words ): 700 more words and i'd hit it, but alas, i'll have to save that endeavor for a later time.

these scene made me so absolutely giddy, it's ADORABLE ugh

i also welcome any critiques or advice !! i’d love to hear what you think of my writing and the way i’m establishing the characters and their romance !!

“So whaddya wanna talk ‘bout?” Kieran sat beside her, criss-cross as well. He wiped his increasingly sweaty palms on his sweatpants as he swallowed thickly. He could tell Jasmine was worried for what he had to say, her brows furrowed and smile masking her concern. He knew that eventually, he’d need to have this conversation with her. Worries returned to him, flooded his mind. They were only kept at bay when she placed a gentle hand on his thigh.

“Somethin’ ‘bout the future and shit. Our future.” He swallowed. “And what we want for it.”

“Wh-what about it? Is it bad…?” She stretched her legs out so that they laid over Kieran’s lap. Her expression was riddled with anxieties. All she knew about their future was that she didn’t want them to die on a mission, but they were seniors. They didn’t have to worry about missions, yet.

“Jas, babe, I… I know this is gonna sound dumb. ‘Specially with the future we got laid out for us. But I want more. I want,” He paused, his hands resting atop her legs. His hands were warmer than usual, sweaty, and he was just happy she wasn’t wearing shorts. He traced one of his hands up her leg, up her thigh, before taking her hand in his. Something he rarely ever did since he’d burned her accidentally. He was hesitant, but serious. “I-I’ve always wanted a family o’ my own. I wanna be the dad my dad couldn’t, I-I wanna love you the way you deserve to be loved. I wanna give you a wedding lil girls could only dream of. I want a future with you. A family with you.”

Kieran’s heart was fluttering in his chest, racing a mile per minute. He awaited the moment he’d regret the words he’d laid out, waited for his heart to be stabbed with the pain of rejection. He watched as Jasmine placed both of her hands on his, squeezing tightly despite how Kieran could barely feel his own hands beneath layers and layers of burned scar tissue.

“Yes! Yes, yes, yes! Oh my God, please!” Kieran was allowed to breathe, shock evident on his face. He was practically pounced upon as Jasmine burrowed her head in the crook of his neck. She littered his soft skin in kisses. She sat atop the other, straddling him now. She pulled back, her hands gripping the fabric of his shirt tightly. “Two! Two kids! Maybe four? At least two boys, and I want a princess dress for my wedding. And fuck weddin’ rings, I want necklaces, yeah? I want to live in a quiet home away from all this bullshit. I want you to never ever go on a mission. And I want you. I just want you to be mine, forever.”

Kieran wrapped his arms securely around her as he pulled her close. His hands rested at her lower back. He flushed, his heartbeat all he could hear as she paused between words. Still, he was smiling widely. So much so that his cheeks ached.

“I’ll get you that princess dress. God, babe, you’ll look so beautiful, more beautiful than normal. A real princess, my princess, and I’ll get those wedding necklaces. I’ll get you everything you want, anything. I’ll work my hardest,” He spoke earnestly, determination dancing in his crimson eyes. “I’ll even wear a tux! But I’m totally not wearin’ fancy shoes, that’s jus’ ridiculous!”

Their lips met. It was a soft, sweet kiss. One where hands roamed their bodies, tugging the fabric of their shirts as they attempted to get closer and closer. Their chests were practically pressed against each other, so close that a magazine could be held up between them. When they broke the kiss they were panting, voices hushed and giggles overtaking them. Jasmine looked as though she may cry any moment, and Kieran simply cupped her cheeks. He pulled her close for one more kiss, and then another. Her giggling was infectious.

“Together forever?”

“And ever!” Kieran spoke loudly compared to Jasmine’s whisper. He pecked her lips and then her nose. “I’ll give you the whole damned world, Jas.”

“Promise me?”

“Promise you.”

7. Which OC wasn’t supposed to exist but captured your heart immediately?

I don't think I've accidentally created an OC for a story, but I think the closest one that comes to it is VH. I came up with the concept of Vee's powers randomly, because I often try to dream up unique powers with prominent drawbacks. I had no plan for them, but as an alternate universe with characters I love was created around them, they really took my heart

21. Which of your OCs could greatly benefit from therapy?

All of them! I have destroyed them all 😁 Fera probably needs it least, since she's very in touch with her thoughts in emotions so she doesn't lose control and hurt people.

Freddie probably needs it a lot, because of things that happen in A New Infection, and since his biological parents didn't give him as much love as they should have

23. Your MC frantically writes out a detailed note for your other characters to read. How legible is the note?

No one is supposed to be more main than any others, so I'll do it for everyone

Bella: it's perfect. She wouldn't be able to deal with it any other way

Freddie: are you supposed to be a doctor later in life?
