8. What is your process for picking names for your OCs?

I don't have a concrete one. For pretty much all the characters here, it was very sporadic: the main 3 are inspired by people I know, Fera came from a typo, Victor-Hecate came from their stand in title VH coupled with a gender defying name, and Nala just.. felt right. If I do get stuck on a name, I google names with x meaning and look on baby naming websites.

17. What writing advice has helped you grow recently as a writer?

I unfortunately am terrible at remembering important things, like advice. It's not a super recent thing, but I learned character development is very important. It makes writing a lot easier when you know the intricacies of the characters you're writing (it does mean I have to rewrite the first few chapters of my book again to fix character inconsistencies and make them more 3 dimensional)

18. List five positive things that you like about yourself as a writer.

I'll do my best

1. I can write decent combat! Or at least, I like the way I write it

2. If I'm in a writing mood, I can write upwards of 1000 words in one sitting

3. I like to do a ton of research for characters! For a crossover au with @pagesofcursive (of course) I researched different forms of ice for a character who would've done the same thing

4. I'm able to write passably outside my comfort zone

5. I think I'm pretty good with descriptions and show don't tell when needed

70. How do they feel about animals? Do they have any pets?

Lakoma doesn’t have any pets, but they love animals! They will melt when they see animals! Any animal and it’s like love at first sight! They want lots of pets, they can’t chose a favorite cause it would be like betraying the others, but living on sea really puts a damper on that dream. 

74. What weather is their favorite? Do they like storms? 

They love the sunny days that aren’t too cold nor too warm. The days with a slight breeze. Work isn’t fun when it’s too hot and they love the slight breeze on their face. They don’t get that weather often on the ship, but it was like that almost daily where they grew up! Unlike many of their crewmates, Lakoma loves and misses their hometown.

"Did you get a chance to talk to Shaun?" Nate asked, stepping into the kitchen.

Reese turned around, dish towel in hand. He slung it over his shoulder and leaned against the counter. "Yeah, I talked to him."

"And?"

Reese laughed without humor. "I don't think he heard a word I said."

"Of course he didn't," Nate sighed, shaking his head. The fire paragon sat at the kitchen table and wondered, "What the hell are we going to do with those two?"

"I'm not sure, Teags. Maybe we could just let them figure it out themselves."

The silence lasted about three milliseconds before the two men busted out into full on laughter. It was a miracle the cabinets didn't rattle with the force.

"Figure it out themselves, that's a good one Reese."

"Yeah, I guess after four years it's unlikely, huh?"

"Just a bit."

"Well, we can't force them to ask each other out."

"But god, wouldn't it be so much easier if we could?"

"Yeah," Reese chuckled. "Yeah, it would."
