Hello, @purgatorypoetry, I hope you don’t mind, but I did a blackout of our little conversation on my ‘Welcome’ poem.
Transcript for all that need/want it:
I feel so much This sort of New arrival to the world
A person born Pieces vivid and unique
(‘wonder climbs’) My perceived implication of The lonely and alien
A world so distant In spite of such beauty
I dont know if I came close
Sell me this world Like snake oil
Come problems Here, To the land of promises
Will I find beauty Or will I be more of the same?

Heart
My heart jumps into my throat I can feel it beating Incessantly
Like when you drink too much caffeine Like when you hide under your bed Like when you feel like death
Two days straight Fear in my blood Fear in my bones
In my heart that beats Too hard, so hard It chokes me to death
Sunshine
Smiling like the sun My teeth hurt from the Sweets craved, desired, wanted
Dough and soup To keep me kind and warm Lovely and nice
I am not made Of sugar and spice But odd bitter flavors
Like the aftertaste of an orange Lemons in a meringue Sugar rotting in your mouth
When do you wake up Afternoon sun on your sheets Deciding you’ve had enough
Enough of misery Enough of shame Enough of fear
I found my breaking point A couple days ago The beckoning of fall spurring me on
Onward and outward, Into that post-summer sun
Welcome
About the World
Our story takes place on The Heart of the World In the center
Wonder climbs from snowy mountains to arid deserts, Jungles and plains all coalesce
Mystic, marvelous, unnatural The land itself wonders
Begin anew, Rise alongside her
Well-minded, rugged, and rich Come with stories to tell Dream of attaining better
Find opportunities endless.
I think most are better
Better at every type of art
Photos, poems, writing
I sing quietly,
I dance uninspired,
All I can feel is that weight
That presses against my heart
Heavier and heavier
I never can describe the numbness
The sinking in my chest
Like a stone into the ocean
Im meant to explore and understand
I am no pilgrim
I write, afraid
Afraid of my betters
I sink into the sand
Of the sea floor
I wait until I get up again
To renew the cycle of
Wake, walk, return.
