heya, may i request cove holden x gn reader who has seasonal depression? maybe it gets so bad that reader doesn’t get out of bed at all? i dont mind if its a fic or headcanons, whichever is fine. if i overstepped the rules, feel free to ignore ^^

HI SORRY IM ANSWERING THIS LIKE A YEAR AFTER I GOT THE ASK!! I have vv much been busy with school because my grades have not been very funky fresh LMAO. but this year i have easy classes so hopefully ill be on tumblr more! hope you enjoy the headcanons! it was super comforting and nice for myself to write these as someone who also suffers from depression :]

He knows when the season comes that you tend to get depressed.

Not going out as much, not talking to people as much. You know the rest. 

He’s your best friend (and/or boyfriend)! So of course he notices when something is off. 

He is very very understanding and kind of course

He doesn’t exactly understand it perfectly since he doesn’t have seasonal depression, but he tries his best to understand it.

He’s there for you every step of the way and just wants you to be okay.

There if you just need someone to keep you company, someone to talk to, or someone to help take care of you, anything!!

He comes up to your room on those days where you don’t get out of bed

Always reminding you to drink water, eat a proper meal, shower, take care of yourself, etc. 

He also does a lot of research on how to help someone w seasonal depression! 

He doesn’t really know what exactly to do at first. If you ask something of him, he’ll do it in a heartbeat for you tho

Tries to give you as much motivation as he can to do things

He probably also leaves little surprises for you like encouraging notes in your locker, or bag, or sweaters, or brings you little gifts or snacks that you like. 

Makes an effort to open up your windows or go outside with you so you can get that vitamin D

Enjoys taking you on walks! Lets you get some sunlight, gets the body moving, and its just pleasant to have a conversation while having a stroll!

And he's always there for you during your seasonal depression! And you can definitely notice how happy he gets when he sees that you’re getting better as the months progress.

Anon yr literally in my head what the flip. Im transmasc and got this ask the DAY my period started ;; but anyways uh the pain is real. as of writing this i'm sitting in english class, supposed to be writing an essay, but instead i'm dying of cramps in my little corner of the classroom. Ngl. he doesn’t really exactly know what to do at first, but he eventually figures out what’s up.

But he’ll ask you what you need him to do, or if you want him to do anything. 

He knows that you get a lot of dysphoria from it, and he tries to be as comforting as they can

Assures you that it doesn’t make you any less of a man, and you're still a man regardless. You'll always be his wonderful boyfriend, and he’ll be here for you. 

He makes it a point to use lots of affirming language to help comfort you about your dysphoria

Calling you things like ‘my handsome boy’ ‘man’ ‘dude’, etc, etc. 

When you’re cuddling, he’ll try and make sure to avoid touching spots that you're dysphoric about because he doesn’t wanna make you uncomfortable.

But he always offers to cuddle at night if you’re having cramps

They’ll hold you close, with his hands over your stomach in some sort of attempt to ease the pain. 

He’ll probably go out to the store and buy you anything and everything you need

We all know he loves to spoil you. 

But during your period? Oh he pampers you. Like A LOT. 

He knows you're a bit more sensitive/vulnerable during this time, and he knows how bad your dysphoria can get too during this time, too. 

Orders food that he knows you like and/or find comforting. Hes not too confident in his cooking, so he just orders.

Does anything you ask, and it is always there at your call. 

Makes sure you have everything you need. Comfy clothes, heating pads, water, snacks, all that.

If it's REALLY bad, they’ll even see if they can stay and work from home just to stay there with you. 

The thought that it’s digging into his raid hours crosses his mind, but his boyfriend is more important. 

He probably does some research into how to help, and things that could be gender affirming for you, etc.

Makes you tea

He's just generally really understanding and supportive with you. He hates seeing you hurting and dysphoric, so he just wants to help.

He likes to draw a little bit as a hobby, but doesnt take it too seriously. So hes intrigued when you bring up the fact that you’re an artist.

Very impressed when you show him your art for the first time!

Like he thinks its so cool. 

If you drew him he would literally like. Break. Melt. 

He would keep the file/physical copy forever!!

Sometimes he likes to try and do some of your drawings in his own style

If you do commissions he’ll always be promoting them

Hell, he promotes your art regardless

He would probably commission you to draw his favourite characters, or his FFXIV avatar. 

OR BIG MARTY FANART !!

Would definitely buy you art supplies and stuff just as little presents. 

Like if you mention a specific paint, or pencils, or markers, whatever you need, there would suspiciously be that exact thing that you mentioned waiting for you

It makes him really happy when you use the supplies that he gave you. 

Like!! You made that masterpiece! With something HE gave you!

Makes him very proud

If you do exhibitions or gallery shows, he definitely goes with you to support you. 

Has your art hung up on his walls in his condo, especially at his desk and near his computer

Also likes watching you draw/paint/do your art

He thinks its such a fascinating and interesting process!

Just how your hand moves, with each stroke of a brush or pencil, and how it all comes together
