(Thanks for sending this in!! This one was rlly cute, so I had a really fun time writing it!! you weren’t too specific, so i just kind of went with the flow lol (this also takes a little inspo from some of my personal experiences, but i hope you enjoy it nonetheless!) ~)

Okay lemme just say
This boy is NERVOUS AS HELL when you decide to make it an official date instead of just hanging out.
But the day leading up to the date - he is a giddy, smiley mess. He is so so so excited.
No matter what you guys are actually doing for the date, he goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to prepare (tbh he would prob go above and beyond for every date you would go on, but more so for your first date)
He makes an effort to dress a little nicer than usual (but not like super formal like the soiree or the charity event), makes sure he’s all freshened up, maybe even wears a little cologne, and even makes sure there isn’t any sand or anything on him (even tho there probably still is)
He shows up at your door (or probably your window) and oh my god, that man looks STUNNING.
He probably also even brings you a little gift like flowers or something cute like that. This boy is very thoughtful.
Okay now onto the date itself.
I feel like you guys would do something different than what you normally do together when you're hanging out. So not hanging out at the hill or the beach or anything.
I feel like for your first date you would do something pretty classic tho like going out for dinner or seeing a movie together.
Cove definitely offers to pay for both (whether you let him or not is up to you lmao)
He probably also buys you a little something like he did when you were kids too.
Throughout the whole date, he has his classic little wobbly smile on his face. He’s shaking a little, but you can tell he’s genuinely really happy
He’s probably still processing the fact that you’re on a proper date with him LMAO

Probably trying his best to rack up the courage to even ASK to hold your hand
He keeps glancing at your hands, and then back at his.
If you hold his first, he’s a little shocked and is a bit tense at first, but he eases into it.
And don't even get me started on kissing.
He probably DOES want to kiss you, but is just kind of internally freaking out about it
Probably thinking stuff like:
‘Wow, MC looks really nice. i really wanna kiss them. Is it too early for that? It’s only our first date. How do i know if they’re comfortable or if they WANT to kiss? C’mon cove you should ask them. Wait *should* I ask them? Would that be weird? Hhhhhh”
His brain is running in circles rn
If you don’t make a move, he would probably chicken out and not kiss you cuz he's scared its not gonna be good or you wont like it
But if you DO make the first move and kiss HIM first…

After the shock wears off and he's able to think properly again, he's just a big, smiley, blushy mess.
No matter what you do for the date, you somehow find yourselves back at the hill or the beach eventually (but are we really surprised? no.)
After the two of you part ways for the night and return to your respective homes, cove is still a giddy, smiling, happy mess.
Without even getting changed, he flops onto his bed, and just kinda melts.
This boy is smiling into his pillow, just absolutely bursting with pure joy and happiness. He literally loves you SO damn much. Probably more than you could ever imagine
But he eventually does get changed properly. He doesn't just go to bed in the clothes he wore out on ur date lol.
As soon as you get home, there’s no escape from the ruthless teasing from both Liz AND the moms.
They’ll leave you alone after you go up to your room tho, don’t worry
Overall, both you and cove had a really good time on your first date! Definitely a day the two of you will remember :>

Ok cove himself honestly doesn’t really care about your fashion style that much
He thinks you looks stunning in anything you wear tbh
At first, he’s not completely sure what to do since he’s never really dealt with anything like that.
But he’s always more than willing to lend you an ear to talk if you wanna complain or vent about it.
He makes an effort to compliment you and stuff
Reassures you that your fashion sense is nice and looks good on you.
“If you ask me… I think you have a really cool sense of style! And besides, should it really matter what other people think of what you wear? I mean… I think that as long as you enjoy it and you're happy, that’s all that should really matter. And um… how should I say this? I honestly think you look really good in anything you wear…”
Even if you think he’s just saying so, he genuinely means it.
He tries and do stuff to help lift your spirits like take you out places
He also maybe goes out with you to buy something like an article of clothing or accessory you like to help you feel more confident
I CAN IMAGINE YOU TWO DOING ONE OF THOSE FUN OUTFIT MONTAGES THAT THEY DO IN LIKE TV AND MOVIES AND STUFF
This man hypes you up. So much.
In general, he does anything and everything he can to help make you feel better
Most of all, cove just wants you to wear whatever makes you happy and confident

✿ Married/Husband Cove headcanons ✿
(I played the wedding dlc recently and uhhh. This idea has been. Occupying my silly little brain. So yeah. I hope you guys enjoy it lmao)

This man literally LOVES just being able to wake up with you next to him.
Sometimes you wake up and just see him smiling at you adoringly
He’s probably just thinking “wow, I love my spouse” “They are so perfect and wonderful.” “I must be the luckiest guy in the entire world”
And if he’s not next to you, he’s probably in the kitchen making you breakfast or coffee
He fidgets with his ring when he’s thinking about something
He gets SO excited and happy when he tells people that you’re married
Sometimes when you get home from work or whatever he just prepares a sweet romantic little surprise like a nice dinner or movie or gift or something.
It doesn’t even need to be a special occasion or anything, he just wanted to make sure you know how much he loves and adores you, (as if he doesn’t just literally tell you all the time. Like, every single chance he gets.)
But when it IS a special occasion like ur anniversary or something like that.
I think I mentioned this in a previous post, but he goes ABOVE AND BEYOND lemme tell you.
Like, gifts, dinner, flowers, all that jazz.
He definitely gets some of your wedding pictures and even some pics of you two from when you were growing up printed and hung up somewhere.
He never ever forgets to say goodbye and give you a lil kiss before you leave for work (or before he leaves depending on who leaves first)
He does the same when you get home.
If he’s tired and stuff from work, just seeing you and kissing you will just instantly make things better and gives him energy (kind of like how kissing ur spouse in stardew valley will get rid of exhaustion lol)
If you’re at home working on things, he’ll check up on you from time to time and make sure you’re taking breaks and stuff. He sometimes brings you stuff like snacks, coffee, water, etc. regardless if you ask him to or not.
If you want him to keep you company and just kinda be there, he 100% will.
At the end of the day when it’s time to go to bed, sometimes he does the thing where he picks you up and carries you to the bed. (he also may or may not do the thing where he flops onto the bed with you like he does in step 4)
Overall, cove is just. #1 husband.

(still in love with this little guy!! I decided to make a post specifically for headcanons for Cove cuz i have a lot!! I cry over this little ocean boy a lot, and thats ok. anyways, enjoy the hcs)

He doesn’t really like going to a barber or salon to get his hair cut. He think its kinda awkward and isn’t really fond of the idea of some stranger touching his hair.
So he probably cuts it himself or gets one of his parents to do it (tbh if he knows you know how to, he would probably trust you to cut his hair too)
His dad or his mom used to cut it until he just kinda started doing it on his own.
He probably started cutting it himself after he moved to sunset bird and was still a little upset with his dad
The two of you made each other friendship bracelets and wore them until you couldn’t anymore
Derek also got a friendship bracelet at some point when he became part of the friend group
His favourite ghibli movie is ponyo (for obvious reasons)
Likes both, but prefers dogs over cats a little more
He likes medium/bigger dogs a little more since they don’t bark as much as smaller dogs do, but he doesn’t hate small dogs or anything
But he is still a LITTLE intimidated by the little dogs that bark and growl a lot lmao.
Cove’s not super picky or big on music, and mainly just listens to what's on the radio or whatever someone else puts on, but I can see him liking the same types of music as his parents (i talked abt my hcs for cliff & kyra’s music tastes in my post abt them)
I feel like he would like softer music and lofi and stuff.
I can picture him listening to mxmtoon and khai dreams.
If he knows about the types of music that you like, he would try and listen to them too.
He also tries to learn more about your interests and stuff he can talk to you about them or at least have a better understanding of what you’re talking about
He’s actually pretty decent at singing, but he doesn’t really sing much.
He does like to quietly sing or hum to himself if he’s just doing stuff in his room tho
After the first time you two sleep in the same bed together, he starts hugging in his pillow in his sleep when ur not there (he may or may not sometimes imagine its you when he misses you)
If he’s not holding onto or grounded (is that the right word lmao?) by something, he’ll move and shift in his sleep a lot.
He doesn’t really talk in his sleep, but he sort of quietly, incoherently mumbles to himself.
You can’t really make out a full sentence, or proper words out of it most of the time, but occasionally you can make out something that sort of sounds like your name.
He likes stuff like diffusers and scented candles because he likes the smell. He doesn’t really go out of his way to buy and use them or anything since he doesn’t really know much about them, but he likes/appreciates it if you or other people do.
He isn't the biggest fan of the ones that smell overly sweet/strong tho.
On that note, he has a really good sense of smell. Like, he can pick up on things that literally nobody else can.
He likes to talk to his fish about things (he also loves to tell them about you)
Honestly he just loves talking about you in general
I think he likes it when you say his name (not in a weird way lol)
Like you’ll say his name if you’re just talking to him, and internally hes just like
“Yes !! That’s me !! :D”
I think he also wants/wanted you to be there when he gets his tattoo/piercings. For emotional support. (if you choose the cove that has either of those)
But yeah
Also if you were down for it he would also like the idea of getting matching tattoos
Probably something beach related or white poppies or something along those lines (tbh I kinda do wanna get a poppy tattoo irl one day lmao)

I have vv much been busy with school because my grades have not been very funky fresh LMAO. but this year i have easy classes so hopefully ill be on tumblr more! hope you enjoy the headcanons! it was super comforting and nice for myself to write these as someone who also suffers from depression :]
✿ Cove x Reader with Seasonal Depression ✿

He knows when the season comes that you tend to get depressed.
Not going out as much, not talking to people as much. You know the rest.
He’s your best friend (and/or boyfriend)! So of course he notices when something is off.
He is very very understanding and kind of course
He doesn’t exactly understand it perfectly since he doesn’t have seasonal depression, but he tries his best to understand it.
He’s there for you every step of the way and just wants you to be okay.
There if you just need someone to keep you company, someone to talk to, or someone to help take care of you, anything!!
He comes up to your room on those days where you don’t get out of bed
Always reminding you to drink water, eat a proper meal, shower, take care of yourself, etc.
He also does a lot of research on how to help someone w seasonal depression!
He doesn’t really know what exactly to do at first. If you ask something of him, he’ll do it in a heartbeat for you tho
Tries to give you as much motivation as he can to do things
He probably also leaves little surprises for you like encouraging notes in your locker, or bag, or sweaters, or brings you little gifts or snacks that you like.
Makes an effort to open up your windows or go outside with you so you can get that vitamin D
Enjoys taking you on walks! Lets you get some sunlight, gets the body moving, and its just pleasant to have a conversation while having a stroll!
And he's always there for you during your seasonal depression! And you can definitely notice how happy he gets when he sees that you’re getting better as the months progress.
