Working On An Accessory To The Dragon Tails I Make. Its An Extension Of The Tail Up Your Back! (The Commissioner

Working on an accessory to the dragon tails I make. It’s an extension of the tail up your back! (The commissioner had the idea.) It’ll be worn like a backpack. The straps snap on.
Here you see the underside of it, showing how the attachment works. I was happy to have figured out how to attach the leather pieces into the scales.
More photos of the whole thing once I finish up the tail that goes with this, and also make a fresh set of backpack straps. (These ones were cribbed from the tsundere shark costume I made for Halloween, which I still need to get nice photos of.)

I’ve wanted to make a shark mask for some time. The question of why exactly is difficult to answer, but last night I sat down and pounded out a design for one. I did the design in 3D in Rhino, building on the experience of having done that plague doctor hood a couple months ago.
Here you can see the design in 3D, and all the pieces laid out and ready to laser cut. I’m going to attempt riveting it all together. The plague doctor hood was sewn together, which takes a really long time to assemble (like 8 hours of hand stitching), but is easy to design for and lay out and know that it’ll work. I’m less certain about the rivets working quite so smoothly, but we shall see. If it works, it’ll mean a vastly speedier assembly.
I’ll be laser-cutting this out in 8 hours! I should get to bed.
I have a quick question, since I can't seem to find it anywhere on your blog, how much would a tail be? Yours are absolutely beautiful and if I can save up enough in a few months I may commission one! :D
The base price for my dragon tails is $250. Certain materials and add-on options can increase the price, or getting a shorter one can reduce the price.
I have a page with lots of info on commissioning a tail over here. There’s a link at the top of the page, and I try to link to it when I post photos of tails.
At the moment, I’ve had to close my commission queue while I clear through a lot of outstanding orders and a bunch of other life things. I expect to be able to open up for commissions again before the end of the year.
Also, just a general note, it’s really hard to reply personally when people send messages anonymously.

My submission for Magic Meat Week! It’s a Tumblr celebration of fantasy males in empowering outfits of the style that fantasy women get stuck wearing. I made this set of leather armor over the last week. The codpiece I had already designed, I just needed to make a new copy. The shoulder armor (spaulder), arm (bazuband) and thigh (cuisses I think?) are all new designs, though, and were designed and hand-cut this week. It was a busy week of designing, and it was great.
These things will be up for sale on my Etsy shop soon, but I’ll need to CAD up the patterns so I can make more with the laser cutter, and also take some photos with more clothes.

A hat band I made for a friend, which will be a gift to his father. Made of stainless steel rings in a European 4-in-1 pattern.

Someone ordered this wolf mask in black, and asked for some holes in the ears so they could put some big thick earrings into it. They also asked about adding in a nose ring, and since I have some big solid rings on hand I offered to just loop one through the nostrils while I was forming the mask. It looks pretty good! Though now I wish I had big earrings to put into the ears so I could get a photo of how it would look once the client finishes that.
