yknow i never noticed the sheer rareness of images having ids or alt text on this website until i started adding alt text to my art (and trying to remember to add it to any images i post in general, especially text screenshots) and that makes me kinda sad

Many books describe buff men with an attractive connotation (something like "his shirt perfectly fit his toned arms") or with an unattractive connotation "his arms were a little too much, almost his head's size"), but I'm struggling to come up with a vivid description for my buff male character with "attractiveness neutrality" (something like "her hair had a golden-caramel color and the curls went down to her shoulders"), something that conveys buffer than thin, smaller than dc/marvel actors.

Alternatives to "Bulging Muscles" Description

He/she/they:

-- had an athletic build/athletic form -- had a toned body -- were physically fit -- had a body that suggested a dedication to workouts -- had a slender but muscular frame -- had a contoured physique -- had defined/subtly defined muscles -- were lithe but with a form that suggested strength -- had the body of an athlete -- had a robust physique -- had a figure that was fit and firm -- was slender but sturdy -- was/were well-built -- had a sporty frame/physique -- had a sculpted body -- had an athletic muscular tone And obviously you can add and combine. Like, "They had a toned body and muscular frame, which suggested athleticism or a dedication to the gym." It'll take a little work to get something that sounds right for your character and doesn't sound corny, but hopefully these suggestions get your brainstorm headed down the right path.

I've had this little idea in my head for a while now, so I decided to sit down and plot it out.

Disclaimer: This isn't meant to be some sort of One-Worksheet-Fits-All situation. This is meant to be a visual representation of some type of story planning you could be doing in order to develop a plot!

Lay down groundwork! (Backstory integral to the beginning of your story.) Build hinges. (Events that hinge on other events and fall down like dominoes) Suspend structures. (Withhold just enough information to make the reader curious, and keep them guessing.)

And hey, is this helps... maybe sit down and write a story! :)
