letting out a loud huff, you glanced at your phone. 1:13am.. heeseung should be home by now but instead he was out with his friends. he had promised that he would be home by 10 but of course, he had gotten carried away and forgotten about the time. that was his exuse of course.

letting your phone drop out of your hand and into the bed next to you and closed your eyes, waiting for the small buzz that would come out of your phone, hopefully notifying you that heeseung was on his way back. for the past few weeks, heeseung had been disregarding your feelings and may more distant that usual.

heeseung had always promise that he would make the next year more special and has done that so far. considering the state he was in, you came to the conclusion that the most you would get is a movie night with him. you weren’t spoiled. you just expected more, especially when he always promises to outdo himself.

“ why did you come home so late?” you pouted, earning a small sigh from heeseung. “ i lost track of time y/n.” he stated bluntly, shrugging your hand off his shoulder gently before sitting up and rubbing his eyes.

you stared at him for a brief moment, admiring how the sun shined on his face. “ come on, let’s get up.. you should take a shower” you mumbled, finally pulling yourself out of your thoughts before swinging your legs over the end of the bed and standing up.

hearing the covers rustling behind you, you took it as a sign that he was getting up and without turning back, you shuffled towards the door and stepping out. sucking in a breath of somewhat fresher air, you released a breath that you didn’t notice you had been holding. man did he stink..

not usually did you make proper breakfast for you or heeseung but since it was a special day, you decided it would be nice to do atleast something small. pouring some oil into a frying pan, your phone rang out from the bedroom. running down the hallway and into your room, you picked up your phone from the nightstand and answered it.

“ hello..? oh hi jake!” you answered, a smile making its way onto your face almost instantly. you and jake had been friends since elementary school and have only grown stronger over time. “ hey y/n! how are you and heeseung?” he asked mindlessly, waiting patiently for your response that took almost an eternity to come out.

“ oh, we’ve been good!” you replied, jake clearing his voice bringing you back to reality. “ that’s good. me and ____ are going out for dinner tonight and she asked to invite you and heeseung for a double date?” jake asked you, who simply hummed as if you were taking it into consideration. “ it’s our anniversary jake, i don’t think we can” you told him, earning a small ‘mm’ in return.

“ okay well i’m going to go get dressed, ____ and i are going to a museum!” he says cheerfully, smiling down at the phone. “ alrighttt jake, have fun~” you responded, trying to sound as enthusiastic as possible. he says goodbye to you and hangs up while you placed your phone back down on the nightstand.

is that what a relationship was supposed to be like? how come they are always so happy.. do they not fight? rolling your eyes, you slouched back to the kitchen to continue making the breakfast.

heeseung got dressed after his excessively long shower which had left the food you had cooked for him to grow cold. “ y/n did you make food?” he called out, his voice already irritating you who was scrolling through jakes instagram page. he had so many photos with her.. why didn’t heeseung have any of you?

“ make your own food, it’s cold now” you grumbled, pointing to the dining table that had cold eggs on dry toast without lifting your eyes off your screen.

“ somebodies moody.” he commented, causing you to scoff and roll your eyes again. “ i wouldn’t be if you had remembered or treated me better.” you mumbled to yourself, shutting off your phone and dropping it down on the pillow that rested on your lap.

“ remembered what?” heeseung asked mindlessly, biting into the stale bread before spitting it out and back into his plate. “ this tastes like shit.” he complained, dropping the toast down onto the plate.

“ a thank you would be nice heeseung.” you retorted, a very clear tone of annoyance laced with your words. he turned around to look at you with a small scoff. “ what’s your problem today y/n?” he questioned you, stepping closer to the couch you were sitting on.

“ no, what’s your deal? you don’t do shit for me heeseung and you couldn’t even make an effort to be home before midnight yesterday. 1 hour is fine but seriously? 4 hours late? do i seriously have to mom you?” you spat out, scoffing and picking up your phone and pointing to the date.

“ our anniversary? i’m sick of this bullshit heeseung, you always say you’ll do better but you never have.” you muttered, creasing your eyebrows as you spoke. he stood there and stared at you blankly , listening to your rant before rolling his eyes.

your doorbell rang, pulling you out of your thoughts. smiling almost instantly, you quickly stood up and skipped towards the door. you and jungwon were going to a new cafe which had just opened a few blocks down. heeseung had refused to take you when you asked because ‘ it will be too crowded’. even after multiple times, he still said no and you had eventually given up after a month. opening the door, expecting to see your friend, you instantly pulled whoever stood at the door into a tight hug.

“hii! i just need to grab my shoes and then we can leave!” you spoke quickly, pulling out of the hug only to be stopped by arms clinging onto your shoulders and holding you infront of them. confused, you looked up, only to be met with heeseungs piercing eyes. “ oh. hi heeseung” you said quietly as your smile started to falter.

“ why are you still waiting? you’re not going, especially not with jungwon.” he said, walking over to you when he saw you roll your eyes with another scoff. “ don’t be like that y/n” he mumbled, clinging onto your wrist and tugging you up. “ stop heeseung. i’m going to go even if you don’t want me to.” you retorted, knowing he was going to try and guilt trip you. “ i already told you, it’s for your benefit. what if he likes you?” heeseung asks.

exactly as predicted. heeseung what trying to make this about not trusting you but subtly. “ at least jungwon would treat me better than you do. all you do is tell me what not to do. you didn’t even say hello to me when i opened the door to my house. i don’t want you here” you spat out, almost all in one breath.

now it was heeseungs turn to scoff. he shook his head, squinting his dark eyes down at you. “ so you don’t even want your own boyfriend here anymore?” he said softly, his demeanour completely different to the one it was earlier. you responded with a simple nod of your head before tugging your hand out of his grip with a slight struggle.

he didn’t notice how strong his grip on your hand was until he heard you sigh and rub at your bow red wrist. “ get out heeseung.” you said calmly, holding your wrist in your other hand before opening the door for him.

slowly, he made his way to the door with a slight po it and his head down, very obviously trying to make you feel pity. “ and i’m breaking up with you.”. that’s it, you cracked him. spinning on his heel after stepping out, he stared at you in disbelief with a snarl covering his cheeks. “ uh no you’re not” he says, scoffing and placing his foot between the door and doorframe to wedge it open.

instantly feeling your heartbeat rise, you lifted your gaze from his foot inbetween the door to him. “ heeseung stop.. leave” you said, inhaling and trying to maintain your calm exterior.

heeseung couldn’t deny it, trying to hide how scared he was is awfully hard. he started off with small things like not wanting you to wear anything revealing when he isn’t there which led him to his obsession of always watching over you and making sure he where you were at all times.

he insisted that it was to make sure you were safe but it had recently turned into pure possessiveness. only now had heeseung noticed how cruel he had truly been with you.

removing his foot away from the door, he nodded and gave you a small smile before stepping away from the door and closing it for you, leaving you really confused. he was just sure that he was going to. make sure your relationship remained?

stunned from recent events, the only thing left for you to do was wait for jungwon who when he came, got bombarded with the recent events.

heeseung let out a small chuckle as he slipped off his shoes and made his way into the shared apartment, staring down at the curled up figure on the couch. it was undeniably cold that night and the fact that the flooring was tiles only made things worse. heeseung knew that you were really sensitive to the cold and always made sure to do his best to keep you warm. unsure if you were asleep, he trotted over to the air conditioner, putting the temperature up. “ y/n?” he called out softly, loud enough to be heard if you were awake but not loud enough to wake you up if you were asleep. a sleepy mumble could be heard in return, heeseungs head perking up. he lanced towards the clock, huffed as he looked at the time. “y/n baby, its too late. why are you awake?” he quietly scolded you, walking up to the couch and making sure to sit next to your legs that had been curled up under the few layers of blankets you were covered with. you opened your eyes to look up at his face, smiling as soon as your eyes met his. “ come on, lets get you to bed okay?” he said, waiting for your permission before lifting you up and resting your cheek on his shoulder. placing his lips onto your forehead for a brief moment, he carefully made his way to your bedroom, closing the door to keep the warm air in. laying you down on the bed softly, he untucked the covers and moved the decorative pillows off the bed before helping you into that side that he had just undone. after fixing up the rest of the bed, he walked over to the window and rolled down the blinds before changing into a simple white tshirt and some sweats. heeseung climbed into bed with you, pulling you into his chest and draping his arms around your waist loosely. “ sleep well gorgeous, see you in our dreams”

Sunghoon’s life is growing tired. He’s not quite sure when it started, but he realizes it now — deflated and exhausted on his way home. He deduces it might’ve been from all his waiting only for nothing to come.

He catches himself unfocusing his eyes and breathing out until the stream of air thins more often than he’d like. A pang in his chest follows at the realization. Though, the reminder of a homecooked meal awaiting him makes him calmer.

His next breath is a sigh — there you are, in all your glory, his shirt framing your figure as you quietly make dinner. He guesses you must be wearing earphones from the way you don’t budge at the sound of the door opening.

Bleary and exhausted, he turns to wrap his arms around you, lips ghosting over your head as he mumbles sweet words of love to you.

It startles you for a moment, but you immediately calm when you breathe him in so instead, you let your body absorb the gentle rise and fall of his chest.

When you take his hands into yours, Sunghoon utters a prayer for the first time in the long time. A silent plead for the moment to stay like this, never fading and forever breathing against his lover’s back after a long day.

You feel like comfort, especially through flitting moments like these when the two of you are quietly standing in the kitchen, leaning into each other for support, and breathing in the smell of home.

Being with you is like going home — it’s like basking into the familiarity of victory.

A warm smile breaks over his face and he gently tugs at you to turn around so he can see you. He wants to bathe in your presence, into the feeling of longing finally achieved. And when you do, it takes him a few minutes to catch his breath.

Comfort really does surround you and encompasses the entirety of your life, Sunghoon thinks. Perhaps, unknowingly, you’re comfort personified.

He uses his palm to cup your cheek, moving slowly to catch glimpses of this moment into photographs in his mind. He inches forward, lips aching to steal yours into a long kiss. And when his mouth finally slots with yours, the overwhelming wash of his feelings almost make him cry.

Time slowed, and stilled. It was just the two of you, fingers carding through each other’s hair and stroking down spines in the empty, sunlit kitchen. The weight he felt earlier rolls out of his chest with ease, until he feels like he can finally relax and smile properly again.

He’s been so patient, and he thinks it’s finally come, that something he’s been yearning for all his life.

Sunghoon’s convinced that today, his life stopped growing tired.

and with that, you turned off your phone and continued walking. it was so cold that day and you knew that sunoo didn’t deal with the cold very well so when you got there and saw him cuddled up in what looked like 3 blankets, the least you could be is surprised. not noticing your presence, his eyes stayed glued to the tv. “ what are you watching?” you asked, making your way over to the bed and laying down next to him. he instantly paused the show and tugged his arms out of the blanket. “ y/n! that was quick” he says, coiling his arms around your waist and feathering small kisses all over your collarbone before giving you a lasting one on your lips. “ i kissed you y/n. i’ve been so busy” he pouted, sitting up and resting his head on your shoulder, something he always did when he was sad. you brought your hand up to his hair and ran your fingers through it. “ i know sweetheart. let’s keep making them for eachother like this hm?” you spoke calmly, sunoo nodding his head in response. he lifted his head from your shoulder and stared at you with teary eyes. you instantly felt your stomach knot up, cupping his soft cheeks in your hand. “ it is the dieting again?” you asked him, wiping a stray tear that escaped from his right eye. sunoo nodded, sniffing and leaning into your neck with a soft sob. “ let’s go out for dinner” you spoke up, rubbing your hand soothingly up and down his back. once again, he lifted his head and wiped his tears away. “ i’m not allowed.” he mumbled, another sob leaving his lips. “ they aren’t going to do anything. who cares, they don’t own you” you reassured him, leaning in to leave a small kiss on the tip of his nose. he nodded and with that, his usual smile was back on his face.

“ jungwon? i’m home!” you called out, closing the door behind you. jungwon had one day off and the one day he was free, you got caught up working. “ in the bedroom y/n” he responded. he sounded sick. slipping off your shoes, he quickly walked to the bedroom to see jungwon sitting with his back resting against the backboard of the bed, laptop resting on his lap. “ save what your work on and then it off” you sighed, walking over to him and waiting for him to put the laptop away. “ stop doing the jungwon. it’s not heathy.” you nagged him. you sometimes felt like a mother with how much you had to remind him to take care of himself. he huffed in response. tilting your head to the side, you leaned into his chest and wrapped your arms around his waist. “ they need me y/n, i have to.” he explains softly, resting his chin ontop of your head. you nodded, lifting your head to rest your lips against his shoulder. “ i know wonnie but you can’t overwork yourself. it’s not fair.” you explained, not warning any response from him. you sat up and pulled out of the hug before slipping your hand into his. “ come, let’s go to the grocery store and buy snacks so we can watch a movie. let’s invite the boys too, im sure they need a break” you suggested, lifting him off the bed. he simply smiled at you. how did he manage to get such a caring and considerate partner?

being the maknae, ni-ki found himself under a lot of pressure from the hyungs and wanted to take a day off practice.

a small ding was heard from your phone, causing you to lift your head and check the small notification that popped up.

“y/n, can i come over?” the message read and you didn’t need to check who it was from. it was obviously that your boyfriend ni-ki was under a lot of stress from the new comeback and needed somebody to lean on. regardless if you were older or younger ni-ki would always come to you when he needed support of reassurance. responding affirmatively to the message. you shut off your phone and searched up the address for the nearest cinema. ni-ki had been nagging his hyungs to go to a new movie that had just came out but their excuse was that they were too busy. seeing that the movie he wanted still had available seats, you booked it for two people and got up to get dressed. after a while of getting dressed, you heard the front door unlocking, followed by footsteps walking towards your room. “ y/n, are you in here?” you heard ni-ki’s voice call out. “ yeah, go put your shoes back on” you responded, grabbing your bag and phone before walking up to him who was slipping his shoes back on. “ didnt you wanna watch ______?” you asked, putting on shoes for yourself too, looking up at him. “ did you get tickets?!” he said, almost yelled while jumping in his spot with a bright smile. “ i did but we need to get there quick, it starts in 20 minutes.” you said. it’s true, ni-ki does have a contagious smile. “ thank you so much y/n! i love youuuu!” he said, the slumber he was in earlier totally forgotten about. he pulled you into a tight hug before grabbing your hand and tugging you out of the door.
