Headcanon Dump - Lawrence Von Koopa (Larry)

Age: 15

Birthday: he wasn't named after a specific musician, but I'm taking a guess it's an autumn birthday, somewhere in the early September.

MBTI: ENFP-T

He practically lives in hoodies as much as in his shell

He wants to be many things, but is too lazy to become any of it. He's not ambitious, but he will yap at you at how he is ambitious

His comfort object are his headphones, whether when working on a piece or to listen to the radio (hah! my blog name makes sense now!), they're always either on his head, or on his shoulders

He's the newest face in the koopaling clan, and has a lot of culture shocks in comparison to his knowledge from his days in the mushroom kingdom

why was he in the Mushroom Kingdom? after their dad had disappeared, all of the siblings got seperated in different foster care systems. Larry got the short end of the stick, and ended up arguably the worst, in the shady district of Toad Town, with unfamiliar species.

from his rough background, he had learned how to steal and cheat to get by, earning his childhood nickname "Cheatsy"

He and the Koopaling Clan met during one of his "endeavours"

His biggest dream is to become a worthy assasin like his siblings become a DJ in the Electrodome

His star shaped birth mark comes from his dad, Mortimer

His "second claws" (the spiked bracelets most of the clan wears) are misaligned, he still hasn't learned how to wear these

His shoes are always untied, not because he doesn't know, but because he doesn't care. He fell over badly during his first mission, and now he cares.

Out of all his siblings, for some odd reason he's the closest to Ludwig. He doesn't force his niceness, he's also a musician, and isn't scared to put Larry in line when the situation calls for it. Larry can rely on him and feel safe, while also admiring his skills.

He likes spending time with Wendy and Morton the most, though. They're close enough in age where it doesn't feel weird, and they're not as "mean" as Roy.

He loves video games, and YES IT INCLUDES DRESS TO IMPRESS. Even Wendy isn't safe from "do you have games on your phone?"

He discovered he has royal blood on accident, his fire breath manifesting when he picked particularly spicy chips, something specific to Bowser's family only. (the fire breathing, not idiocy.)

As a young teen barely having any time to himself, his sleep schedule is fucked. He relies on energy drinks to function, something the koopaling clan collectively dislikes

Despite of that, he has tons of energy, and being a clan member is the perfect place to let it out. He's always eager to train, combat, or even chase around with Iggy and Ein at 2 AM.

His music taste? does he even have one? He can have fun to any music, and I'm not exaggerating. He's the only one able to handle Bowser's sappy ballads, hence why he's "his number one koopaling"

He often hums to himself, and the Koopa Kid Theme comes from Ludwig and Morton picking up on it and adding their input.

he's HIGHLY competition and food motivated. Ludwig ensures that whatever he wants from him involves both

He absolutely is a foodie, coming from a food insecure background. Larry is living in a goddamn castle, of course his first instinct is to catch up on all the food he's been missing.

He's never there when you call him, but when you open any food he's always right next to you

Ludwig combats this by putting anchoovies in everything, well aware it's one of few things Larry hates, canned fish, eurgh.

He loves sports, as one of his favorite past times back in the mushroom kingdom. He often drags his siblings for a tennis match..or ten

His hair care is a trait directly received from Ludwig, wanting to be like him made him also copy his caring for appearance

Lots of energy doesn't mean great coordination. He's visibly clumsier and with less stamina. In his defense, he's been training for less than a year!

He is a coward, his confidence got a hard reality check when comparing himself to other siblings, especially Ludwig.

Ludwig: ah yes, that simpleton Larry vaping and ruining himself with energy drinks

Ludwig: *sips his 20th coffee* kids these days, when I was his age I didn't need all these..eurgh, addictions for inspiration *lights up cigarette*

Ludwig: I don't get it! He's wasting himself away and thinks it's normal!

Iggy: ...

Ludwig: *opens up Whisky* At least I know what goes down in my system

Koopaling clan Headcanons - Human Culture

So we're both aware that dimensional travel between humans and Mushroom World citizens is canon. Mario and Luigi are canonically italian plumbers from Brooklyn, and some other characters are human in the Mario setting, an alien species in this world setting. An event common enough in my AU to gain a special division in Bowser's army! So how would the koopaling clan treat these aliens?

Ludwig owes his pianist career to human music. In the mushroom world, pianos are way too difficult for four fingered creatures, and having to tune them? They're treated mostly as rich people decoration, because trying to play anything is too much of a hassle. Ludwig tried to learn it by himself, however with barely any piano players and zero access to tutorials, he sounded terrible, to the point where people joked he's partially deaf. If it wasn't for Luigi who noticed him trying to steal his classical cassette player to try to replicate the pieces, and gifted him piano books and sheet notes translated by hand to darklandian, he would've been stuck smashing the keyboard for arguably the rest of his life. It's not just piano for Ludwig, either. He likes any art that comes from humans, intrigued by how good humans can get at it with zero access to magic! His favorite art period is Romanticism.

Lemmy has a lukewarm treatment of humans. He wants his tricks to be original, and it always annoys him when he discovers that his stunt, yet again, was made by a human before. But at the same time, they're fun to be around, certainly Luigi to pull pranks on him!

to Roy, human stuff is for NEEERDS. Wait. They have Jackie Chan? Okay, maybe human stuff isn't that bad..

Iggy uses human resources as a reference to his experiments. He loves discovering how different the experiments go, from different atmosphere and unique, earth specific factors. It's less biased than native research, either claiming that toads good koopas bad, or vice versa, and he really appreciates it. He also loves learning about human pets (carefully, to not make Ein jealous), especially insects!

Wendy enjoys learning human fashion, and snatching up pieces of the styling knowledge to herself. She also begs Luigi each time he goes back to Brooklyn for soap operas, because the darklandian television would've never dropped so low, and god is it entertaining.

Morton isn't interested in human culture too much. He once tried an Earth protein recipe and couldn't handle how much of it humans could have in one sitting. It took him a solid month to trust that Luigi's pasta isn't packed with powdered protein. (Don't even try to tell him that some people eat the protein raw)

And where's Larry, in all of it? He's too lazy to get interested by himself, he'd need a solid motivation to form an opinion on humans. Though he would absolutely love the meme culture if he ever discovers it, and God have mercy if he ever does.
