Another Red Riding Hood Card, This Time The Ace. Featuring Murder, A Cornerstone Of Any Good Fairy Tale.

A skeletal hand lies in a trail of blood, reaching towards a kneeling young woman in a red cape trimmed with gray wolf fur and buttoned with a canine tooth. It conceals her shoulders, but where her hands should be are gray, wolf paws resting on her long gray skirt. She wears a black shirt and brown belt. Her head is bowed beneath her hood and her black , jagged hair covers her eyes. Blood drips from an impassive mouth. A pink crescent moon hangs above her in a dark blue sky filled with stars. She kneels in a gap between two rows of pines. The ground is snowy. In the upper left and lower right, there's a capital A that looks like it's made of scratch marks. In the upper right and lower left, there's a pink geometric heart with four bloody claw slashes though it. This is an ace card, and overlaid over the image is a pattern mesh of white diamonds to make it look cheaply printed.

Another red riding hood card, this time the ace. Featuring murder, a cornerstone of any good fairy tale. My, what big hands she has.

A 13 year-old squats in a puddle of blood in 3/4 view with her back mostly to the camera. She has black and white converses, black pants, and an oversized jean jacket with the sleeves rolled up around her wrists. On the shoulder of the jacket, there's a black circular patch with a red dog's paw in the center. The half of her head closest to the camera has shaved short, pink hair. The other half of her head has three spikes of pink hair with the last one falling over her face. She smokes a cigarette nonchalantly. The smoke swirls over her shoulders and coalesces above her head in the silhouette of a snarling dog. Its eye is a glittering red diamond. The background is a dark green that becomes slightly bluer towards the center, vertical strokes give a sense of walls closing in.

Another day, another oc (Dogslobber) and another osha violation. (pretty sure 14 year olds are not legally allowed to smoke and that blood puddles are work place hazards).

She's playing a dark purple guitar with gold tuning pegs and a black strap, a cord leads out of frame to an amp. Her hair is short and natural, with the strands that frame her face dyed red. She has two gold piercings in her ears. She wears a jean vest with a black sword enveloped in flame stitched on the back, long green pants, and red boots. She's silouetted by a blue spotlight in front of her and it to the side by blue light.

18 and ready to scream. Meet Chel, the lead singer and guitarist of Flame Blade, Kira and Midas's band. She is sooooo fun to draw.

The bicep bears a white triangular pauldron with a red brown strap. Her hand is bared despite the cold. A red hood covers her ears and the cape billows out behind her. It is trimmed with gray wolf fur and bound with a white tooth secured with black strap. In the upper left and bottom right corner, there is a capital Q shaped like a diamond and made of scratches. In the upper right and lower left there is a geometric heart with four red scratch marks through it.

Another day, another red riding hood concept. This time in playing card form. Love the queen card.

A long-haired woman in a dress stands backlit by a yellow moon. She grips the neck of an eastern bluebird in her mouth, and her lips are as red as its blood that trickles out of the corner of her mouth. Her eyes are dark blue and neutral beneath red eyebrows. Her long hair billows out behind her and goes from red at the ends to purple to dark blue. Her dress's chest is bright orange like a blue birds' then shifts to red then purple then dark blue at the waist. The dress's arms are light blue like blue bird feathers at the top and then transition to dark blue. The crescent moon hangs with the dark part down towards her head and stays behind her like a halo. The sky is yellow around her waist, pink near the bottom of her chest, and then finally dark purple. Small lavender stars are scattered across it. Black raspberries are suspended from green vines with mauve thorns that frame the scene. The bottom of the frame is green serrated leaves. Two bluebirds fly on either side of the front of the bird eater.

Experiment with a circular canvas. Birds are still hard to draw and yet so so satisfying.

A series of brown board walks are suspended by stilts over a blue pool filled with lily pads. Facing away from the camera near the top, there is a black man walking on one branch of the boardwalk on the other branch there is a multiracial gay couple walking hand in hand. Near the bottom, there is a woman with a hijab walking. To her right there is a black woman running after a black girl. None of them see the skeleton of a basilosaurus, an ancient whale, in the pond in the far right of the canvas. Near the center one asian woman pauses to look at the whale.

I love how delightfully strange ancient whales look. They haunt me. This one haunts these walkers too.
