Dude, the ending got me so hyped. I remember seeing theories from back when Eda’s requiem aired that Darius and Eberwolf would have let Raine go.
They mentioned how aggravated they were when Kikimora showed up, so if Darius is working with Raine Eberwolf may be too. Makes me very excited for next Saturday.
The revealing bombshell of an ending of Them’s the Breaks Kid in my opinion is very hopeful despite what people are saying.
Raine DIDN’T lose their memories and were duping Terra (and us) the whole time.
They’re still in the rebellion business WITH DARIUS ON THEIR SIDE.
And yes, Raine is pushing Eda away, but they’re saying with much meaning and love in their voice “I’ll protect you Eda, I promise.”
I have a feeling that Raine will eventually give in and decide to see Eda. They have to.

Fuck it, everyone gets joint custody and Hunter gets a million parental and sibling units. Its a win win.
All I took away from this episode was
I think so often about how Darius and Raine were classmates back in the day, so they've known each other for decades, and how the conversation progression from "Welcome to the Castle, nerd, you still dating that criminal, Edalyn?" to "Hey, so, sorry Kikimora did... *hand waves* that to you, but uh. Eber and I are actually rebels too. Yeah, ye-- ok well, you tried to kill us first, so." must've been
Like can you imagine being Darius? You've been at the top of your career as a Coven Head for years, your mentor died suddenly and was replaced with a child, and you've been on track to try to overthrow Belos ever since because you always suspected foul play, then in comes that bard dork you went to high school with who was friends with the resident Weird Delinquent™, but whatever, you have more important things to worry over than them messing up the induction ceremony that was recorded live, until low and below that dork is both a rebel AND going to fucking blow it all by being too noticeable, so now you and your Furry Colleague who's also a rebel have to go catch Dork, only for Dork and Delinquent to almost fucking kill you guys somehow like what even was that??, but you manage to quell the situation only for after you release Dork they get caught again by that annoying Brown Noser Kikimora, so now they're under a tight leash by Evil Old Lady Terra who you've been carefully avoiding the line of sight of for years, and goddamn, Dork, you are so bad at this, like yes, great, more rebels! but also low profile much? Ever heard of it??? Now can we please get your gf to help us? Ugh, fine, your wife, whatever, can she help or not?? Titan, Raine, this is serious we need more help. Oh. Oh, ok you can send her flowers but can't ask her to join our group because 'she needs to stay safe'? Eber are you seeing this shit I have to deal with? Edalyn's been a criminal since I met her but yeah ok, we need her to avoid breaking the law now. ...Stop saying I have a son, all I did was give him a phone and teach him to sew and care about his well being.
But on the flip side
Can you imagine being Raine? You've been quietly toiling away through the coven ranks, giving up your relationship and stomaching loss after loss of promising students all to reach the top with the goal to overthrow Belos, and then the guy who inducts you on crystal ball -- which was horrible btw why did it have to be live?? -- is that rude popular kid from high school who had the mean friends, but ok, it's been decades, not worth compromising your mission over, just let bygones be bygones... until Rude Guy and Furry Colleague show up and trap your crew during one of your raids and, oh Titan, Eda is at risk too, but if you can take them out maybe the Day Of Unity will be delayed, but then you find out the love of your life went and had kids without you and you cannot dwell on that rn cuz you have to get her to safety as Rude Guy captures you, except you slip away easily haha take THAT for underestimating bard magic back at Hexside! Aaand there's Kikimora, and some horrifying sigil stuff happens, and now that annoying Old Evil Lady Terra from HECK is watching you like a hawk and you're 100% certain she's trying to drug you so you have to low-key alter every drink she gives you, and then Rude Guy informs you he and Furry Colleague were rebels all along too. Like, thanks for the heads up, jerk! I almost killed you guys! You don't get to be mad at me over this!! Fine, whatever, let's work together, strength in numbers, and you can't turn down extra help in this fight. ...Eda is not my gf!! She's not my wife!!!!! No, I won't let her get involved again. ...except, I'll just send her these potion ingredients, to save her kid. Yes it has to be in the form of flowers. To get past the house demon! You know what? You don't get to criticize me over this, Mr. 'Thats MY angry blond kid!'
Now imagine being Eberwolf and having to deal with two late-30s/early-40s something-year-olds acting like this on top of trying to lead a rebellion.

Hollow Mind AU where everyone ends up in Belos’ mind
Spoilers for kings tide! Aka the series finale of season 2 of the owl house.

It's been years since I've wrote fanfiction, but after Hollow Mind I had to for my own happiness 😂 so enjoy! And sorry if any of the formatting or tagging is wrong, it's my first time using AO3
Headcanons for Darius adopting Hunter when they have stopped Belos and everything settles down. They settle into a routine.
1) Darius still runs abomination courses for the students who want to learn that type of magic or hone their skills. Hunter comes and goes into the abomination magic building as much as he pleases.
2) While Darius is very protective of Hunter, Hunter grows to be very protective of him right back. Do not talk bad about Darius in front of Hunter, ever.
3) While Darius is firmly on the side of good, it doesn’t mean he’s actively nice either. Due to this, people who don’t know him well are extremely surprised by how good of a dad he is to Hunter. Like, Darius will be roasting people verbally for making him mad and doing dumb things, and Hunter will walk up, and Darius’s whole demeanor changes. Someone who Darius just chewed out will watch, flabbergasted, as Darius is a kind, caring father to Hunter.
4) Make no mistake, Darius and Hunter are still Darius and Hunter. They may love each other very much, but they both are kings of snark. They will snark at each other often, but the affection and care underneath is obvious.
5) No matter how busy he is, Darius makes it a point to go to every Flyer Derby match Hunter is involved in. He’ll put the days and times of the games on his calendar so he won’t forget. The other parents will never quite get used to former Coven Head Darius showing up, sitting in the bleaches with them, and cheering the students of Hexside on.
6) Darius: So, you have caught an idiotic Belos loyalist? Break every bone in his body!
Hunter*flies into Darius’s office* Hey, Darius, I need to you sign a permission slip for a field trip.
Darius*signs the form after reading it* Here you go, kid.
Darius*after Hunter leaves* Destroy that loyalist.
7) Eda and Darius become very close friends and create chaos wherever they go. Hunter and Luz love it, and Raine has given up on trying to reign them in.
8) Darius has enemies out there who would love to hurt Hunter to get to him. However, after seeing what Darius did to the last person who tried that (even after that person was taken down by Hunter first), none of them are brave enough to try. They don’t want to be drinking their meals through a straw, no thank you.
9) Every time Hunter goes running off with his friends, or comes back home to excitedly tell Darius about his day, Darius is filled with pride.
10) Flapjack likes sleeping on Darius’s head because his hair is so soft, and Hunter has multiple pictures of it.
11) Hunter and Amity do become close friends, and Darius does his best to try and tolerate Alador for Hunter’s sake.
12) Darius has asked Eda and Raine to take care of Hunter should something ever happen to him. Eda and Raine readily agree, because they both love that kid too.
13) Hunter gets addicted to spa days due to Darius. If you want to find Darius on an off day and Hunter is not with his friends, then go to the spa. They will be there.
If Darius doesn't end up adopting Hunter by the end of the series i'll be throwing more than hands.
